I can't help but like Eric , he made bad decisions but I see the kindness in him.
I know it's wrestling and it's not like any other job but I never ever heard of a legal department approving a boss to call a meeting to inform them that a co-worker is getting sued by management... Most legal departments would tell you not to speak to ANYONE about a pending lawsuit. That's fucking petty and stupid.
He only did that knowing it would get back to Flair and piss him off. This is the real insight that Bischoff loves to sugarcoat.
The talent would already know not to pull that "No Show" shit. The lawsuit was from Turner Legal, Eric Bischoff told the staff because he needed to prop himself up.
"Sueing him into bankruptcy" yea, that's a term legal uses. Hey call a meeting and tell everyone we're sueing the shit out of a former employee. We are going to bankrupt them. Yea lawyers want the entire staff to hear that dramatic bullshit. It really helps their case.
He makes everything seem as a matter of fact years later.
Flair has always said he asked for the time off.
Eric never understood wrestling. He was a t.v. guy.
Considering that Nitro was ultimately a TV show...how was that a bad thing? He ultimately understood the product well enough to kick the shit out of WWE for 83 weeks straight. Russo was a tv guy; and it showed way more with him then it did with Bischoff.
