Cheers mate, that worked a treat. Picked one up yesterday and couldnt even tell if the thing was still running when i was stopped at the traffic lights haha gotta be the quiest stock bike ive ever owned.
Just did mine, definitely sounds a lot deeper and louder, has some clacking sound maybe just because of the amplification, also feels like the acceleration improved, does not feel like the bike is getting chocked as hard. but i do only have a little 125cc cruiser style bike (QJ SRV 125 if you interested ) the only reason i did it is stock was WAY to quiet and i had 3 close call where other drivers just ignored me on the round about or just did not hear me.
A little update the "clacking sound" has disappeared, maybe it was a tiny metal shard trying to get out of the exhaust, and the sounds is WAY beefier now. Over all for 10 minutes of work, i like it.
Okay a little more update, the clacking comes after 60/70kms and hour. the sound of the exhaust is awesome but still cant figure where the "clacking" coming from. maybe the air hitting the holes? 🤷♂️ at first i though it was maybe some metal pieces stuck there but no, and usually only starts doing it at 70km/h weird, ill be updating my comment for anyone who migjt be a little irritated with the "clacking" if u have it too.
If you have a look at i think its video 34 or around that i gut the exhaust and i agree paul it sounds heaps meaner! Cash wont fliw to straight pipes atm but thats a good second! Cheers man take care!
Nice. I just watched that one before. Wasn’t sure if you were ripping the guts out of ya news straight pipes. I can’t remember the order. Cool vids, even if I’m watching them backwards
@@iRidetasjust wanna say first that your videos are frickin dope man! You've helped countless people out with your knowledge and skills! I just got a 2005 xv250 list month for my first bike and I know I've learned a ton from your videos! I drilled holes into mine too so people can at least hear me somewhat now! But can you clarify plz on your comment here on which exhaust/muffler that you drilled out is the "1st" one that made it louder? And how big diameter hole saw did you use? A 2in? I would gut them both but I'm trying to not have to rejet until I'm more confident or have the money lol Thanks for all you do brotha!
@@iRidetas yeah I've been watching a bunch of your vid. To clarify myself, you said in the comment i relied too above: "Drilling out the first baffle with a hole saw sounds even better!" I hope Octane Moto sees this. I’m sure it will remind him of every Friday night at his house! 😭🤦♂️..... That’s all do hey?? Sounds so much different, better !! 👍👍
Ridin' Country haha hope he does see it and reads thd comment! 😜😜 its not half bad increase in tone for 10 minutes and zero dollars i was pretty impressed. Makes me want to gut the exhaust!! 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Can anyone tell !? Drilling 2-3 holes along side the baffle tip like this dude did. Will make stock exhaust sound more base or rough ,? I want to try it on 125 cc commuter. What if one removes baffle completely with ring drill , What disadvantages does this have.
Put your hand over the end of each silencer when you are running. Exhaust gas comes out both therefore I drilled both. Its only a dummy top pipe on the rear, lower pipe to mixing box and silencers all very real
@@iRidetas ye man just don't it last night. Put like 6 or 7 decent sized holes and it's loud and how o want it lol. Randomly come across ur vid and saved me like 200quid+ cheers
iRidetas how difficult would that be? And would that increase the sound? Also thank you so much forthis in depth build series. I just binged through it all
iRidetas alrighty! Thanks man. I really want to get into riding and I've been looking at these virago/v-star 250's. I want to join bikers against child abuse and grew up around motorcycles and i really want to give back.
Good luck brother i love the xv250 think it is an ideal bike to learn on. I did many years ago, my wife did as well. Gilby is the 2nd one we have owned. The lend themselves perfectly to modifications!
but it does quantify something that could have just been qualitative. In no way do i care what dB it is just that there was an increase or not and this shows that.
Lol thanks but no thanks. This is my wife's bike, have owned harleys, most unreliable pos I've had, sooo now I ride triumphs myself!! Harley did sound nice though!!
Just did this for my little brother who has been wanting a sports exhaust for along time but they are too expensive, thanks man it worked a treat! 👍
Glad it helped! 👍👍👍 you could try what I did below for louder ua-cam.com/video/XDT2QiUal1A/v-deo.html

No worries mate glad you got something out of the video! They are a very quiet bike. Would love some straight pipes long term! 😁
Thanks for the great video ... I'll be drilling mine out tomorrow morning first light !!!
Wont regret it! Easy mod with good results

Cheers! Baffle closest to end of pipe only drilled our removed with hole saw. Left other two in each pipe!
Loud music is always good :-)
viperNohio haha yup ive always said that 😉 but seriously i was happy with the sound increase for just hacking into it with a drill bit!!

Doticaster cheers not bad for 10 minutes and a drill bit! 😁
Now it makes a different noise. A good noise.
Haha its so quiet stock i had to do something! 😁
My bike has the DB Silencer in the Exhaust, do I drill on the outside or inside the silencer? I would like a louder yet a bit deeper note... thanks
Try this ua-cam.com/video/XDT2QiUal1A/v-deo.html
If I drill these holes would I have to rejet or anything? Really new rider with the same bike.
Just the holes, no!
@@iRidetas thanks man! 🙏🏽
Nice sound bro! Whats the spray you use? Paint or lubrification? Thank you
Just quick lick of paint to neaten it
Isn't the top pipe just for show? It connects to the bottom pipe before getting to the exhaust
end.
Hello. I have the same bike, top speed is only 90km/h. Why it does not gather high speed? Please, answer. Thanks
Carb might be blocked, or could need a rejet, sorry the answer is 8 months late
@@innouniversedoineedthis Ok, thank you!)
I've put 4 in my cbf125 and it's little louder and crackles. But how mKe it louder? More holes?
Yes, you can cut out the baffle if you want it louder
Super! !!
I do the same to me bike

It shouid be 86dba @ 4000rpm
u can take the whole baffle out dude like u can have a open end
that piece inside pulls out its just a baffle

Must you drill the holes in the dummy exhaust? Curious as to why.

@@iRidetas thank you for clarifying. I'm a new rider so thank you! 🤙🏼
How did you have to adjust the air fuel on the carb?
Did i have to or how did i?
@@iRidetas I just saw your video of you tuning it, all good! lol
No worries my friend, was just checking before i sent a link to a video through!
Should of just been a tabb to bend out of the way that restricts the air flow
That would have been handy!
@@iRidetas there all diffrent, my 1982 750 suzuki had tabs..inline 4 motor..just got it on the road and won't stop raining here
Wouldn't a 3" hole saw be easier?
yeah and a lot moore stupid
when u put holes in mate did u up jet it ?
Nope
Only need to jet stuff when you mess with intake air ,I was always taught
The more the louder?

So what would happen if you just drilled one big hole?
You would probably have to drill out the baffle and gutt the exhaust
iRidetas how difficult would that be? And would that increase the sound? Also thank you so much forthis in depth build series. I just binged through it all
Daily Cup of Justin it isnt difficult just fiddly. Use a hole saw and some vice grips and sone gentle persuasion!!! Sound is louder again.

Cut the muffler off. You will be amazed and it sounds alot better without the muffler
Mate, I can't, the video is years old, I haven't owned it now for over 3 years sorry. If you watch further on in the season I gut the exhaust
dB meter apps on your phone are not accurate AT ALL
but it does quantify something that could have just been qualitative. In no way do i care what dB it is just that there was an increase or not and this shows that.
@@iRidetas that's fair I meant no offence it was a good vid regardless
You should rectify the problem, by buying a harley.

Sound like a dirt bike
Well it's not going to sound like a harley is it!
still sounds bad
