Syriac Christianity brought Christianity to India, not the Europeans, this is a fact.

The Church of St Thomas had very little contact with the Roman Empire but maintained communion with Rome through the Church in the Persian Empire, which later came to be known as the East Syrian or Chaldean or Babylonian Church. So technically they were Catholic even before the Portuguese arrived. They were however mistaken by Portuguese missionaries in 16th century as Nestorians and so they were Latinized.

European brought Christianity to Indian. Whats wrong with that?? Saint Thomas never came to India. But Portuguese, French and Britain had a huge effort to Christianize India.
