I just bought one of these dolls! I was thinking of giving her a makeover. This is a great video. Thanks for all the inspiration and all the explanations! Now I feel more confident in trying it out!

@@sirjuiceskywalker Hiya! Life got busy so I got as far as wiping her old face up and taking out the eyes. I decided to completely re-root her, so I took out her hair, too. (cut open the head-cap first if you decide to do so. It's a lot harder to pull hair out with the hair intact.)
The next step is a face-up. I found a tutorial on how to seal up a face with Liquitex matte varnish and a make-up sponge. This is also on UA-cam and you can search for that with these keywords. I -have- been drawing potential faces with a coloured pencil, though. I find it's helpful to have a few ideas before committing to one. Someone taught me to take a direct photo and use something like Photoshop to draw the face on to see if it'll be a good fit. You can try that, too.

what brand of color pencil do you use when making eyeliner on the eyes?..please tell me too want to buy... 😞😞
Watercolor pencils! Caran D’ Ache are wonderful with lots of good colors for faceups, but any kind will do. They MUST be watercolor pencils, regular kinds won’t draw on the skin and ruin your surface. Chalk Pastels are also great for blushing, and soft gradients. Get soft unused makeup brushes for blending, or soft taklon watercolor/acrylic brushes to save on cost, best brushes I suggest are “racer” liner tip and “flat” or “chisel” for details. Do NOT use makeup brushes used on your skin. The oils will stain your doll

She's reusing the ones she came with, but if you want to buy different ones look for 8mm eyes.

@@grampsmao I use a hairdryer on the neckhole on low setting until it gets squishy, then you can put the body in. Just don't let the hot air touch the face up or it will react to the sealant (if you did a make up)

@@grampsmao Yes you can use putty or if you can't find any, silicon earplugs work just as well
