Project Mugen looks like a genuine fucking game. Very few games have captivated me with just a cinematic and development trailer. Sure, the game being developed by a NetEase subsidiary is worrying, but if the initial growth of the community is anything to go by, this game is gonna make bank and it won’t shut down, and I HOPE the devs get all of the finances they deserve for their own well-being as well as funds to go back into the game to make any potential future content just as good if not better.
This looks like it’s going to be a really huge mmo success since the devs know what the players want. Gameplay, exploration, turbo enemies to fight, more freedom, and most importantly, voluptuous thighs and boobas. Also, as long as there are no “Genshin Killer” remarks which is pretty much a Fantasy at this point, this game should not fail.
It's nearly impossible to put the terms "MMO" and "success" together nowadays, so good thing this isn't an MMO. The sole exception is Dungeon Fighter Online, that game is not from this planet.
This game looks insane holy fuck! Which is good, competition only brings good things and Hoyo will have to pump up their work if they want to stay at the top! Still it's very early to decide, we say literally nothing of how the game plays and what we will be doing, but the potential is immense!
I on the contrary to Stix enjoy when characters in game "communicate" with the player via messages. This was one of the enjoyable little moments I had in Nikke, and frankly I wish there was more of it. Not just the phone but also when you meet them in person. Maybe integrating Chat GPT like scripted AI wired for the game world itself could do the trick. I mean some random guy managed to modd Chat GPT into Skyrim for your NPC companions. An impressive feat in and of itself, and it enhances the companions to a whole new degree. Would be cool to see something similar for this type of anime games.
Blue Archive also has messages with the characters through Momotalk, which lead to relationship stories. Honestly one of my favorite parts of that game, and why I get excited when I pull a 3 star even if she's not a great unit combat-wise. I just get excited because it means I get to read another relationship story. I feel like every gacha game should find any excuse for us to get to know the characters. I mean we pull them with our hard-earned currency, so having them be extremely shallow is kinda off-putting. It's part of why I don't like Genshin or Genshin-esque games; they use the open world to suck casual players in but forget that a gacha is supposed to be more about the characters, which results in a lack of focus given to said characters.

I’m equally as excited for this game now as I was from the last 1. This new trailer is giving me hope that this game IS NOT a scam and I can look forward to its release and expect to enjoy it so much I wud be willing to financially support the game. Altho if the only meaningful way to spend money on the game is a greedy gacha then I won’t spend any money on it even if I wud like to. Buying skins is my fav way to financially support a game I love. AL is a great example of that fact.
@4:53 I think their development style they used was to create a loop hole skipping development of the entire city that would have taken a very long time to make. They have a plain layout they quickly generated and their goal is to add as much possible to it.
"I can almost feel that 100 gb install with 10 gb from each updates." That would mean the game is actually getting updates, not just timed events that never come back (with the same 4 models repeated for every new character)
I need to see a lot of thing first before I got trap by another trailer like that T/L trailers so good but when they release the beta holy fuck its so different on the trailers. 1. UI screen and menu 2. Actual gameplay footage with UI (feels like everything is prerendered) 3. Performance on both PC and mobile (anyone wanna bet more phone going to die when this game release) 4. Monetization In WW they aready showed the game so I think its okay but this one still has many questions.
While I admit Project Mugen looks great, I am going to temper my excitement now that my initial elation has subsided. Too many other games in recent memory have made great trailer-impressions, but fell way short of expectations upon release. Yes, I am following the old advice "keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed." I don't believe any of us should build this game up too much or it will certainly fall short of our imagination even if it's good.

40 games? I can't fathom that. I usually have like a couple games only. Right now I'm excited for Persona 3 Reload....... and that's about it. And even then I'm slightly disappointed in Reload for not having FeMC.

If they flesh out the exploration with good stories and quests plus plenty of hidden and side things (like chests, puzzles, random interactions and events etc) and the combat is tight then this looks to be a fun game. Too many developers focus on making a big, sprawling world for players to get lost in but don't fill that world with things to keep players engaged and wanting to see what's just over the next horizon. So far the game looks good, seems interesting and from the little I've seen of them the devs seem to have some love for their work. There's just so many potentially good games coming out soon and in the near future that it'll be interesting to see the gacha space when project mugen finally launches.
Curious why do you hate npcs sending text to you ingame? Doesnt that help make the game feel more alive rather than just talk to npc for quest and thats the end of all interaction until further update for another quest?

SMS in new gachas is a result of fleshing out chars that they cant do in their main story (skill, i mean writing issue). Also, saw the new honkai trailers yet? its hype, but the community is mostly pessimisitc rn.
They need to allow us to actually physically interact with the characters instead of getting text messages. Texts are soul-less, real interaction would be such an improvement! And no, I haven't! I'm going to have to though now that you mention it! haha
i totally agree with your take on improving upon what's good from previous game and i dont know why ppl many ppl dont understand that copying GI is a good thing until u try to do the exact same thing as them. take's the good point and improve upon it then the next game will do the same that's how gaming evolved.
My only problem was probably if they can launch smoothly on SEA region or not. Playing a game in day 1 is a blast, but delay it till later might be not having the same effect. Genshin can scoop up tons of player because of that, they launch in every regions possible on day 1.
I live in SEA and I don't even know if I have hardware powerful enough tbh. We all poor af here. Genshin is already pushing the average person's phone to it's limit here and mine can run it fairly decently, but I'm a spoiled little shit who can't bear with choppy framerates capped at 30FPS because of my midrange phone and underpowered work laptop. Mugen looks way more technically advanced.
@@McCaroni_Sup I played genshin at max settings with a Graphics card GTX 750 TI. And that shit was like, 10 years ago kind of GPU or something ? So If you get a PC right now you would get a way better one with even cheaper price than that shitty GPU. Mugen seems to be visual appealing, But I doubt it would be TOO much of a graphics requirement so you can always play at lower graphics settings if worse case scenario seems to happen. To be fair, even with genshin, nobody is gonna play it on Mobile effectively in the first place, these games are PC games that disguised themself as mobile cross platform just so they can "legally" bringing the gacha into the PC realm.
The game is promising but I will hold on to my expectation until launch and able to play. Reason countless of time games got hype then came crashing down at launch point.

But I find it feels more alive than only ever "actually" interacting with them, somehow. But even then, Blue Archive done texting right. Besides maybe in the tutorial, it doesn't interrupt your gameplay like it sometimes does in Star Rail, it feels organic with how much messages it shows combined with bringing you into little side stories where you actually meet up with the students (and said meetups never really feel like fetch quests, imo), all that good stuff.
I know this is a gacha. but i am so afraid of falling down that hole again. but it looks so fun. i am scared of the gacha system. if the pitty/ pull economy is brutal like genshin i will have to stay away
This looks like it would be very hard to play on a mobile platform. It would probably take a decent phone to run these graphics and to be able to populate all the items and npcs. Also, control wise it would be hard to play this with a touch screen.

I think it's obviously inspired a lot by Spider-Man's systems. It's a new game model, like how Genshin modeled itself after BOTW's system. I wish they made their swinging and wall running animations not look exactly like Spider-Man but otherwise am excited. Not a bad idea to take an existing idea and anime-fy it. I like all the original ideas put into it too. Really curious to see and hear more news about this game. It will be glorious!
You can do infinite meaningless activities, but if the meaningful activities (ex. gear farming, character leveling, etc,) are behind an energy wall of any kind, I won't even bother with this game. That system needs to go away. I hate that system in Genshin, I even hate it in Star Rail, so if this game has that system, I'll pass. If they want players to enjoy their game, then let players enjoy the game and remove any arbitrary limits, delay tactics and any form of deliberate inconvenience just so they can sell to the players the solution to the problem they've created. Otherwise, this game will be short-lived.

Gacha game with Kantai Collection style '4 resources system' are still exist in small numbers, which is still the system I love & prefer the most and one of the reasons that I'm still playing Girls' Frontline to this day.
Multiplayer and gacha don't mix well together, so if they were smart they would stick to single player. And "MMO" is pretty much synonymous with "failure" nowadays, it's really quite sad as someone who grew up on MMOs even if I no longer play them.

I hate having red dots to click, and new messages come through seemingly every day. They typically can't be skipped, and are mostly very generic haha.

I wish more games like this with multiplayer style like Tower of Fantasy, but probably this is singeplayer game sadly :(((
Multiplayer and gacha don't mix well together, so if they were smart they would stick to single player. And "MMO" is pretty much synonymous with "failure" nowadays, it's really quite sad as someone who grew up on MMOs even if I no longer play them.
@@bobjones4469 well it is true, but why i should spend money for gacha when i cant flex online with heroes... it makes no sense to spend more money when its only SP game. If u can flex i am sure ppl spend more money for it because of flex
idk why but, genshin does not attract me.
