My family who is charismatic has been so abusive by going around to everyone and telling people even my own spouse that I have a religious and jezebel spirit. Thank you soooo much for calling out the NAR's imaginary demons. That doctrine has been used to slander and abuse me.
It’s used to slander and abuse a lot of Christians, because the ones using it are likely not saved. They’re into demonic doctrines that cause division. In place of “religious spirit,” I’ve also heard “spirit of phariseeism,” which is essentially the same thing.
@Saltz Hill We have a little thing called “intuition,” which causes us to suspect things about a person based on certain idiosyncrasies Sometimes those intuitions can be accurate, while sometimes they miss the mark entirely; which is why we should seek more information before jumping to a conclusion. But a lot of these “gibberish” people will not only jump to conclusions based on their intuition, but they will claim that the intuition is the voice of the Holy Spirit. Such beliefs are very dangerous. Troy Black has a UA-cam following exceeding 300k, and his “prophetic words” are often based on his totally mistaken intuition about others. He projects a lot of humility when pronouncing his “prophetic words” about others, but the actual “words” themselves are often very vicious, and he feels justified in proclaiming them because he’s just trying to be “obedient to the Holy Spirit.” Those who object in the comments section often get shadow-banned; such that all the comments left are praise and agreement. Such deception is almost unreal.
When I was younger and ignorant, trying to be perfect and not to sin, I caught myself hating the sin of others but got off track, ascribing that hate to the people and thinking I was better. To me that is what a spirit of religion is about. It was my own personal pride and arrogance, and eventually a big lesson I had to learn
Not necessarily, Calvinists claim to know the word, but their 5 point TULIP theology is particularly demonic in several areas. It all comes down to people's perception and interpretation of God Himself and the scriptures.
The religious spirit catch phrase charismatics use ranks like top 4 of the most misused phrases/scriptures ever. 1. Judge Not 2. You're a pharisee 3. Religious spirit 4. Touch not the anointed
They love to put periods where there should be commas. For example, 'Judge not, lest you be judged BY YOUR OWN MEASURE'. The last 4 words change the whole meaning, don't you think?
Thank you so much. I have that book by CP Wagner as well. I was into the whole Bethel movement and our church had Bethel pastors speak there regularly. But thankfully I made it out and the LORD was gracious towards me and allowed me to repent and turn back to HIM. I attend a bible focused church now and the Pastor at the church we attend now preaches book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. So thankful for sound doctrine and a christian community that is sound and acts sanely. These hyper charismatic churches leave you empty. You are filled up with their music and filled with emotions but that is not rooted in GOD or His Word.
Thank you! I got kicked out of my church by my pastor and elders for bringing the truth to their attention. It is of course a great privilege to suffer for the sake of the living God.
Me too!!! I questioned Todd Bentley to my leadership and they rebuked me! Later after the whole truth came out and Todd was removed they didn't call me back to apologize???
I’ve got kicked out of two ‘fellowships’ for confronting false doctrine. I didn’t plan to but the fire of the Holy Ghost made me bold! I count it all joy to be counted worthy to be persecuted for His sake
You speak as if a "religious spirit" were some psychological mechanism instead of fact a LIVING ENTITY, a demon, whose intelligent strategies are aimed at sabotaging God's will for the human mind and spirit.
You don’t understand how much I needed to see the Church Lady thumbnail right now, my day is awful…. So needed this laugh, Praise Jesus, I’m healed ( not to trivialize our Savior, just super thanks)
Not only did you trivialize the very possibility that God might choose to save people but, for good measure you you also mocked the act praising Jesus which is close to blasphemy (imo)
So all of you all find the bondage of other believers a reason to enjoy a hearty belly laugh. Daniel Long has certainly achieved his goal. Compare this to what Paul said: 17Join one another in following my example, brothers, and carefully observe those who walk according to the pattern we set for you. 18 For as I have often told you before, and now say again even WITH TEARS: Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. (Philippians 3:17-18)
as missionary Spencer Smith says "doctrine matters" great video as usual guys, love all your content. As a 39 year old only 2 years into my new christian journey, watching channels like yours has saved me from the deceptive path i was heading down in a pentacostal signs and wonders church.. Thanks guys. Watching from Melbourne Australia ..
It is possible to be a Continuationist and not be a part of the signs and wonders movement or the Rhema faith doctrine. Many of Ante Nicene Fathers (i.e., those leaders who who succeeded the Apostles for 400+ years reported that miracles continued to their day which shows that Cessationism was not true and that they had received no such doctrine from the Apostles.
@@JimiSurvivor i believe God still heals today, but what makes continuism hard to believe these days is all the self proclaimed apostles who think they now have the authority to heal, yet there obviously fake. Bethel church runs a college wich is pumping out kids who believe they have healing powers. They dont. Only God can heal now. Jesus was the one who apointed the apostles with the gifts to heal.
@@smookie2351 God is the only one who ever could heal. Even the Son "COULD DO NOTHING OF HIMSELF but "only that which He saw the Father doing." His "works and "words" were not from Himself but from the Father." Jesus did not heal everyone. He did not heal anyone in His home town because of their unbelief. In 1 Corinthians 12 the Bible does not say THE Gift of Healing. Rather it says GIFTS (plural) of healing since gifts are distributed to the body as God answers the prayers of other members. 1 Corinthians 12 shows that supernatural operation of the gifts was done through the members of the Body and not just apostles or the other ministries
I'm 41, and I just left my dad's ministry which had the doctrine of The Believer's Authority and Word Of Faith. According to him, my whole family is headed for he'll because I Go to a Baptist church now
The Pentacostals that I know mentioned of me "to pray for discernment" as I was the one speaking against their Pentacostal doctrine and mantras. And yes, I was called out of having a Jezebel spirit. I knew I didn't and couldn't.
Thank you for bringing sanity to expose the insanity that seems to have invaded the modern church. God had mercy on me and opened my eyes to NAR and prosperity gospel. I asked Him to show me Truth...so many voices. Now, I have eyes to see...no church or friends. I have THE WAY, TRUTH and LIFE. Yeshua! God bless you!❤🙏
I’ve been accused of having a religious spirit , and a Pharisee spirit when I challenge NAR theology. I usually respond that there is no such “spirit” in the Bible .🤷♀️
@@janeteaton3240 right? And it’s not like they’re all the same either. You’ve got little country churches who have good intentions but end up a bit clannish and then you’ve got VERY cult-like places like Elevation Church.
I have been accused of being a Pharisee by those in the Baptist and Reformed Churches. Jesus told the religious people of His day this: 1 Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.” 3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? (Matthew 15:1-3) Why did the Pharisees not hear the words of Jesus but rather continue to follow their doctrines. Here is Jesus' diagnosis: 43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me! (John 8:43-45) Would you say these people 's resistance to the gospel involved a "religious spirit" or that their resistance purely abstract and mental? These scriptures show that people can be bound in a religious system by the operation of spirits. Even so you say that somehow this is not a "religious spirit." If not then what is it? Again, the Longs deal with error with imprecision
If someone tells you that you have a religious spirit just tell them they have a demonic spirit. God said to study scripture to show yourselves approved
Do some people not have a "religious spirit?" What about the Pharisees? 3Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your TRADITIONS?...7 You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you: 8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’ (Matthew 15:3-9) Their issue was their complete devotion to their religion over the word of God. Jesus Himself said this resistance was due to Satan: 40 But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. 41 You are doing the works of your father.” “We are not illegitimate children, ” they declared. “Our only Father is God Himself.” 42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.… Their kinship to the Devil was shown by their attitude towards Jesus and towards the truth. To them, their traditions were truth, first and foremost.
@@JimiSurvivor No one is arguing against what you have said here. But the use of thought stopping phrases/statements like "these people are having a religious spirit" or "they don't have the Holy Spirit" or "that is a dead church" or "they are demonic" etc, is misleading if not abusing or cult-like when common sense, facts and truths are ignored.
I don't want to study God, I want to know him. Moses experienced God and wrote the first 4 books of the bible, how did he manage to do that without scripture ? Couldn't have been from experience as God taught us to not trust in that.
@@sigra4867 You are not Moses. No one is Moses *but* Moses. God has used these people to say what needed to be said and fulfill prophecies that have and still yet to come to pass. Moses was commissioned by God to write the first books for the Torah, the very words proceeding from God’s mouth. Now we have His completed Word to study to better know Him as He’s revealed Himself. Jesus Himself referenced and quoted from the Torah. He didn’t think He needed to go beyond what was written, other than His fulfilling of the law. To go outside what God has revealed is to start chasing the flesh and imagination. Not to mention that having envy of those in the Bible who have had these experiences is a sin within itself.
I’ve found that the majority of false teachings create a spiritual hierarchy among believers in the visible church. There’s always someone “doing it better” or “being better.” A true grasp of the gospel levels the playing field because the focus is on what God has done, not who’s a better performer.
My cousin goes to a church where the pastor has a rule that if anyone in the congregation has a disagreement with him or anything regarding the church, they are not allowed to address their concerns to him directly; they must pray and ask God to tell the pastor personally because he can only be "corrected" by the Holy Spirit. This goes against the Bible that tells us to check everything by the Scriptures and be like the Bereans and go to the person directly who is in error
I really appreciate you for doing this video. I am the son of a missionary to Mexico. And having been on the mission field much of my life I see Christianity in America differently than most. And this “religious spirit” talk was something I started noticing right after I began pastoring. I was used to evangelizing and hearing Biblically sound preaching. After I began pastoring I felt a great responsibility in not just preaching the truth based on Scripture and led by the Holy Ghost but also to guard against men’s opinions being preached as if it were Bible. As I became more aware of the different evangelists coming through I noticed a trend of this anti-religious, anti-Pharisee, anti-traditional, anti-legalism, etc preaching all being stirred into one pot. And then I started hearing the “religious spirit” lines. It blew my mind! Where in the world were these people getting this stuff from?! It was a trend of some sort (wind of doctrine). Then I thought “If they talk about this religious spirit as if it were such an evil demon then why didn’t they simply cast it out?!” After all these were the same people who promoted deliverance and healing. Or if it’s just a behavior then why condemn something like “religion” when the Bible never condemns it?! It talks about religion in a good light if it’s pure and vain if there’s hypocrisy. But there’s an balance of good and evil there. Not all religion or “religious spirits” is bad as these ignorant people are teaching. And then I began to notice most everything whether it was the “legalistic, religious, tradition, Pharisee, etc” was equally balanced in Scripture. Man’s law versus God’s law, Hypocritical religion versus pure religion, Man-made tradition versus God-ordained tradition, Ungodly Pharisee versus Christian Pharisee, etc. Currently I am working on writing a book entitle “The Baby is Not the Bathwater” walking through this. We must get back to the Holy Scriptures. It is truth and the Word of God. He has spoken and it is there. Why should make up vain things God Himself does not affirm in His Word?
Haven’t watched any of your other videos. Just seen the “religious spirit” and wanted to let you know that I appreciate you guys helping shed some light on this. Light does need to be shed on this darkness and ignorance.
They're appointing themselves as self-professed apostles and prophets so that they can make money and have a form of power. My mother barely talks to me anymore since I don't accept Pentecostalism and NAR style Christianity. I love my mother very much (and miss her) but I can't go along with them which causes a painful divide (I do try to show love and grace.)
@Swena76. I'm so sorry. I know how much that hurts. May your mom be touched by the love and grace you show her. May the Lord Jesus open Her eyes to see the truth.
I was in such spiritual bondage in NAR. Now reading the gospels and Paul’s letters I am understanding what a life under grace means. Demons are real, gifts of the spirit are real, but I love Paul’s advice in Romans - “be guileless in evil and wise in good.” NAR makes you focus on demons and warfare, pulling you away from the cross and the true message of the gospel. Jesus gives us an easy yoke and a light burden. NAR will give you a heavy burden.
Thank you for doing this series. And, of course the NAR leaders are going to slander correct biblical teaching, bc that's the only way they can sell their new teaching.
Indeed, I've been told I'm a 'feather ruffler...' so I guess I have what the charismatics call a 'religious' spirit. Sadly, have lost many friends over sharing the Truth of God's Word, yet I continue to try and get them to understand they are following a false gospel. Thank you both for the awesome videos! Matthew
@@JimiSurvivor Same spirit as the modern day Pharisees, that accuse everyone that doesn't hold to their doctrine, as being false teachers. If Jesus had become incarnate and was doing His earthly ministry in our generation, you can be sure that this channel and others like it would be all over Jesus. Accusing Him of having demons and being a heretic. Jesus would easily surpass Stanley, Osteen and Furtick and be at the top of the heretic list. That says something about these channels and their ability to discern truth.
@@bradharford6052 And yet the founders of Reformed Churches - Luther, Zwingli, Calvin along with the Catholic Church supported the execution of the Anabaptists by beheading drowning and burning them at the stake.
My former brother- in law who was a pastor, used to do that often. Whenever someone disagreed with or opposed the latest NAR " revelations" ,he would say they " have a religious spirit".
My wife got carried away by the NAR teachings. We disagree on most spiritual matters that I find it difficult to fellowship or even pray together. She even quit the church where we used to fellowship. It is not easy for me as it also affects our children.
@atx1974 I’m so sorry how this dreadful NAR cult has affected you and your children. Keep praying to the Lord.. stay faithful to Him and Him alone. I pray for protection for your children too and pray your wife gets out from under their grip and things turn around for you all as a family united in the Lord Jesus together.🙏🏼📖
The religious abuse through the NAR belief system is geared to alienate from the love and simplicity of the cross. Protect your children otherwise you will lose their hearts.
The answer to your first question is yes: I was told once that I did not have a 'teachable spirit and was in rebellion' because I point out from scripture certain things. Also I had to rebuke a man once who insisted that there was going to be a major revival all over Europe. However I was aware also that he was just regurgitating what Cindy Jacobs had previously said. Needless to say, that prophecy has not come true!
I personally have a 'critical spirit' because I too wanted to read bible verses in context. Sadly this came from a Master's Seminary graduate who knew exactly what he was doing. The bible can be awfully inconvenient sometimes, can't it?
@@benjaminhoward4630 Inconvienient to those who do not wish to acknowledge it is true, however it is in discovering that truth that is the issue, as it is only the Holy Spirit that can lead you into that truth.
I have been told that as well because, having been in cults I test teachings by the word. For the most part it is equally true for Baptists and Reformed Churches. If you believe in free will you will find these groups calling you a Pharisee
Please also remember folks, the late C. Peter Wagner was instrumental in putting Todd Bentley into the 'apostolic ministry' in 2008 at Lakeland. Please notice one thing about 'false prophets', they write and speak almost like the truth, but drop error in very subtly, almost undetectably.
It is such a good thing, that in the new Jerusalem are not the names of the NAR apostles, but of the apostles chosen by Jesus in the Bible. And . . . give me that old time religion! Yeahhh !!!
I had no idea the church was being flooded with these types of "preachers" of deception. It's amazing to see the truth and wisdom of the scripture unfolding before us, when we were warned about this time of false prophets and teachers. You have to wonder how these people ever get a following in the first place. The most obvious reason is probably the simplest explanation, that the people who follow them probably don't read their Bible.
@@nathankinman7753 Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 13:12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. 13:13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Thank you for talking about this. It is something I experienced a lot in the charismatic churches I attended for 15+ years and it is so harmful to the body of Christ.
Yep used to follow Patricia King and Katie Souza, attended a conference with both ladies and all I can say is keep shining the light on all of these teachings...they tend to make it a works based faith instead of truth based one.
Reminds me of the early days after we were saved in late 80's. Suddenly, after searching for reality, we realised that true Bible believing was not taking your pristine Bible only on Sunday, getting dressed in clothes you would never wear any other time and plodding off to church. Some of the best naps ever! There was always something missing! After being saved we encountered the ' demon in every corner '. Now I have greater wisdom and more sense. A friend spoke of the spirit of leviathan recently and I had never found anything in Scripture about it! Discernment is paramount in these days to separate the wheat and the chaff. I have a bugbear regarding the mixture of Old Covenant and New Covenant which seems prevalent ( perhaps in our country or is it wide spread ?) People keep the Jewish feasts and study the Torah, use Hebrew for everything but also confess Jesus. Very muddled. For me the ' spirit of religion' is mainly those dear folk who carry their pristine Bibles to church on Sunday and live like the devil the rest of the week! ( my Bible now would horrify them: dog-eared, scribbled, coloured in)
Yes, this is Judeo-Christianity - half under law and half under grace. They are in fact judaizers and such has gone on for quite some time in even Mennonite, Anglican, Calvinism have slowly brought Judaizing even keeping with or promoting circumcision which no longer necessarily.
Me too! Apparently, doing a plain reading of Scripture is relying too much on reason. The true path to Christ is to turn off your brain and rely on your heart. Nevermind that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.
Before I knew Jeremiah 17:9 and also the reason God flooded the earth, I thought everything bad that happened to believers was a demonic attack. Thank you all for what you do. It's because of God's mercy that He led me to ministries like yours.
You showed some video footage from Above and Beyond Christian counseling. I had a dozen [paid] counselling sessions with this ministry half a decade ago and am glad you're introducing a balanced perspective concerning all this misleading NAR-baggage.
I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have found your channel, as well as Chris Rosebrough's Fighting For the Faith. I just ended a dating relationship of over a year, because it took me that long to see and to discern the false teachings she is into. I've been a Christian for well over 2 decades but had never heard that Christians need deliverance from demons, that all believers should speak and pray in tongues, of modern day apostles & prophets and the five fold ministry, of declarations & decrees. Because of my time dating her I've learned about all these things, and it took some time for me to finally understand why I always felt a little uneasy about all of it. This is the only "brand" of Christianity she has ever known (and I do believe she is genuinely saved and redeemed by the blood of Christ), and she cannot see how people she follows like Kathryn Krick, Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce are simply charlatans. She has gone through a number of churches in her area because she thinks they are all lukewarm and don't have the fire of the Holy Spirit (although she never use "the" in front of Holy Spirit). While our relationship ended on friendly terms, since we realized we were unequally yoked, I continue to pray that the Lord will open her eyes to these false doctrines. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WHAT YOU (AND OTHERS LIKE YOU) DO ON YOUR CHANNEL, AND FOR HELPING THE CHRISTIAN BE ABLE TO DISCERN SOLID TEACHING FROM FALSE.
I find there is a happy medium. You are open to the Holy Spirit for example you listen to His voice but all in line with scripture. The same with all gifts from the Holy Spirit. All in line with scripture. God bless you both.
When Katie Sousa said God woke her up, her impression of God's voice sounded like Long John Silver from Treasure Island 🤦♀️ Thank you for your videos! ❤from Maine! ~Deb
Great video their brother Daniel and Robin. I cannot thank you enough for only playing one clip of Katie Souza. You may have added years to my life LOL. Anyways great job you guys and God bless you
This was so good. As an ex-narer, there was a demon under every rock and a spirit attached to everything. I've heard that statement more times then I can count, (you have a religious spirit) We would go out of our way not to be labelled that because we didn't want to be accused of it. You are right in saying they say you have a demon, for all the sins you do instead of owning up to your sin. So you have the spirit of alcohol, the spirit of tobacco, the spirit of pornography, the spirit of rebellion (especially if you question authority) spirit of torment, it goes on and on. Chuck Peirce might as well speak Japanese as far as I'm concerned. I don't understand a word he says. Our old church would play his videos a lot on our Holy Spirit night. The true word of God is so freeing. So happy to be out...
Thank you. I have tried listening a few times to the man and find him difficult to follow and/or listen to what he's trying to say, he seems to talk in circles without ever saying anything of substance. God does not mince words and gets straight to the point, so I turned it off.
I have been accused many times of having a spirit of religion. Of course i was accused after i laid down biblical facts. My fiance and i had been going to a church together and when he passed away they completely pushed me out and ghosted me. The pastor and his wife used to tell me that they couldnt converse with me because i spoke over their head. They had no idea what a strongs concordance was or a greek lexicon. I was never comfortable there but my fiance and the pastor were good friends and i was just grateful to finally have a man who prayed with me and went to church. I havent been to any church for 2 years now. 😢
Excellent guys. WE ALL ARE ACCOUNTABLE, to the Word of God. My Pastor, Chuck Smith, was always approachable, and open to challenge. He DID NOT like mindless compliance among other leaders.
😳 I would much rather have what they call a "spirit of religion" that loves God's word and sound understanding of who He is and what we are in comparison, than have whatever spirit they have that causes them to roll around on the ground like they're burning alive and shouting gibberish at each other.
Also, I was told (when I was relatively young Christian) "religious spirits" tended to attach themselves to people who go Church in "religious--looking" buildings: such as Anglicans, Catholics, Lutherans, Orthodox, and some Presbyterians, Methodists, and (God, forbid), Baptists....
😂 I've only stepped foot in catholic and lutheran churches. The bare bones of Christianity/orthodoxy must be legion all over people for there are still many out there. 🤡
I really enjoy listening to you both, it's funny, I was just thinking as i'm watching this, I'm now 59 but when I was 25 I sang on TBN channel 40 for 2 years, I didn't understand everything that was going on, God has brought me along way as I continue to grow in his grace and mercy, Thank you both for your ministry as you expose the lies of the enemy . Blessings to you both, Sheree
My pastor today to us in church to be a berean to check what he says to scripture. Very humble man. Now the old charismatic church I was in I don’t remember about the religious spirit but I do remember being told I was defying authority. Thank you both for this video. I don’t know if I should continue to comment I’m not sure if they are helpful or if anyone is seeing them. Oh well 🤷🏻♀️ hope you have a blessed day
Hi Valerie! Please continue to comment...your comments and insights are helpful to us and to others! I'm so glad you are in a healthy church where your pastor encourages you to be a Berean. Have a blessed week. RL
Yep! I've been told that. Everytime I questioned a notion being promoted in the Charismatic movement. And as it turns out, the ones gaslighting me like that were only projecting their character flaws onto me.
Amen! All "doctrine" is... is teaching. I remember when I finally understood that right there. Makes more sense why Paul says to "take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine" -it's what is *taught*
Spot on commentary on the matter. Your ministry to the body of Christ is more important than ever in these days of NAR charismania. Keep on contending for the faith once for all delivered to the saints.
I don't really care what labels or accusations people put on me. I've been attacked by Catholics, Charismatics, and Calvinists alike ( Also Church of Christ, Oneness Pentecostals, 7th Day Adventists, Liberal Do-Gooder (Woke) groups. ) I've been a discerning Believer since my simple conversion as teen in 1974. I agree with your assessment of NAR. One major similarity many Charismatic, NAR, Contemplative all have in common are extra Biblical Revelations mostly of a mystical character. The all claim a conditional, process salvation, as opposed as a onetime event ( John 5:24, Rom 4:5, 5:9. Eph 1:13 ) whereas the convert is Regenerated, Saved Forever, despite the subsequent struggles in Sanctification. The 1st, if not sole reason for rejoicing, IS Not Ones, Ministry, Miracles (True or False) but rather the 100 % Assurance of Salvation which comes from the HOLY SPIRIT as One Discerns the Word Being Rightly Divided. "Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven" Luke 10:20 Most Believers allow their affections to become worldly centered rather Heavenly. "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" Col 3:2 As far a 'works' referred to in Matt 7, one of the Truths the **HOLY SPIRIT impressed on my heart & mind the moment I trusted Christ was I wouldn't dare Boast before GOD any works I did , but Soley on the Blood of Christ ( 1 Cor 15 ) What bewildered me in those early days, was I soon discovered the so called tongues phenomena, but with a very open , but discerning mind would visit Charismatic Churches (Back then, 1970s , were more Biblical in other areas) but despite their great claims of Tongues, Dreams, and Visions , denied the most precious Comfort and Truth of the Eternal Security of the Believer , which the HOLY SPIRIT also impressed on my heart the moment I Believed on Christ, even though the Evangelical Lutheran who witnessed to me probably didn't believe at the time . I other words, though GOD sent me to an Independent Baptist Church a few years later, the Baptists merely confirmed what the **Spirit taught me at Salvation. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God 1 John 5:13 ** HOLY SPITIT Enlightenment of precious truths of the BIBLE is a far cry from mystical Voice of GOD experiences of modern Charismatics
It is Great to have a Personal Relationship with JESUS. And when I get alone by myself and seek HIS face and call upon HIS NAME! HE has come and spoken to me personally. HE is Real. I don't care what people thinks. I don't depend upon people. My trust, my eyes is on JESUS. The HOLYSPIRIT, The COMFORTER is my Great Teacher. I ask JESUS to keep me in HIS TRUTH and he does. He leads me and guides me. No one controls the HOLYSPIRIT. He can come through preaching, singing etc and of coarse the Living Word.....It is JESUS that makes HIS WORD ALIVE. The LORD JESUS sent a stranger to me many years ago and gave me a message and she prayed for me. It had nothing to do with that woman. The HOLYSPIRIT gave her the words to say to me. As she was praying the presence of the LORD JESUS came and lifted the heavy burdens and made it light. JESUS came and set me free. Unfortunately, there are jezabel spirits and doctrines of demons. We call out to JESUS to help us to try the spirits to see if they are of GOD. JESUS will let us know. Those that want HIS TRUTH. HE will keep them in HIS TRUTH! PRAISE THE LORD. HE LIVES AND HE REIGNS! And I'm looking for JESUS to come!
Thank you for your videos and for sticking to scripture.. After years of dealing with these types of leaders, I'm convinced many of these people subscribe to some sort of "Prophetic Leadership" call. I've heard most of this straight from their mouths, and the more I personally dove into God's word, the less everything they were saying made sense. Thankfully I have unlearned the majority of their false teachings and have learned to lean and rely on God's everlasting and true Word rather than encouraging words that tickle the ears.
Yet another amazing video. Loaded with discernment, setting the record straight with great scripture references. Well researched and true representation of the doctrine of "the spirit of religion". Thanks again. Keep the videos coming!
Wow, if Katie Souza isn’t lying, and she had this vision and all this actually happened to her, then I would wager it was a demon speaking to her and a demonic vision she had. I mean that is just ridiculous and a lie what she said. She completely twisted scripture! And she is the one mocking sound doctrine and anyone who pursues sound theology. You guys don’t mock, you just tell the truth using the Word, and it’s ok to have a sense of humor, that’s different than mocking as well. Awesome, awesome job. This was really well done. I always learn so much. God bless you both🙏☺️❤️🕊
They fight against sound doctrine because they spread new revelation lies. Sound doctrine is of the utmost importance and they know this, and sadly so many don't. .so if the Truth offends then let it offend!
I was involved in hinduism and other eastern religions , the spirit of eastern religion some call kundalini spirit when it left me my eyeys were open to my blasphmouse and heretical ways literly like i was bling from the truth of the gospel , i was not able to absorb the word of GOD untill that spirit was casted out so you guys can say what you will but a real experience is valid and I cant deny there are spirits of religion .
Wow, Chuck Pierce just described their movement to a tee, and yet they criticize the normals. Pharisaic belief was ALWAYS adding to the word of God, so what is the difference between them and the N.A.R.? This are more examples of the charismatic two step you need a degree in double speak with a minor in misrepresentation!
Perhaps the greatest example of religion spoken by Messiah in Luke 10:30-36. The road to Jericho. I had a dream in my 20s, I was on an Island with another lady. We had long skirts on and Bibles in our hands. We were engaged in a deep conversation. Surrounded by raging waters people in the waves 🌊 began to catch my eyes. They were drowning, screaming, crying out for help. I woke up. I never forgot this dream and years later I visited the Salvation Army in Zanesville, Ohio….That very dream was a Muriel on their wall.
😭 From Brazil, I thoght that was only here…. I was kicked out of the church after 10 years … I never had listen before about NAR… they denominate apostolic and profethic church . Thanks for the content
Being a Berean is usually called having a religious spirit. But so also are those who are habitually fault-finding, are hindered by a spirit of criticism. We have to all be careful not to focus on faults of others, but clean up ourselves and follow Jesus.
Wow. I'm watching this, and I'm like; Where do they find all these creepy and obviously mentally unstable people, witches a.s.o. calling themselves prophets and apostles etc. They are Definitely not Christians...considering that we don't lie and make up blasphemous stories about God or claim He is talking to us in ways others never experience, not even the apostles. Apostles...that's a sad evil pathetic and horrible joke coming from their viper mouths. That said, you guys are doing an excellent job making people more aware of who and what they actually pay attention to. God bless you guys and thanks.
Thank you so much for the Teachings of the Holy Word Of GOD. And the warnings against these demonically led fools, wolves 🐺 in sheep 🐑 clothing. The Charismatic movement as a whole is a movement of the flesh, by the flesh and for the flesh. I left it like 25 years ago and never looked back ever since.
Any assertion of sound, biblical doctrine in the face of NAR whack-a-doodleness is met with the ‘religious spirit’ charge, or flat out being warned to ‘touch not mine anointed’.
Exactly, what do they base their direct revelation on? What voice, what word do they get that they can absolutely say it's from God and not from their own flesh or God forbid, the devil? Yikes!! I used to be a charismatic and what a sad tale that is; it does not go well, nor does it end well. I have in the last 10 years been freed from all of it, thankfully due to much reading, research of discernment ministries such as yours (found yours recently and so glad I did!). I do not speak in tongues anymore, I don't "listen" for direct revelation or a word from God, I don't rebuke demons anymore, and I can honestly say, it is the most freeing thing to embrace God in all of His holiness and read His Word for guidance and all things that pertain to life and godliness.
I'm not a Christian, I'm a Messianic Jew. I do watch your videos on occasion. The clips of these people you show in your video made me think about their line of reasoning. They seem obsessed with Satan. It led to me a question I bet many viewing this video have as well. If they're so focused on Satan, who are they really worshipping? Just a thought.
Excellent video. ( Love Church Lady....) I much appreciate the clarity of your explanations and the wonderful way the two of you interact.... Thank you for doing a wonderful work ! So......let's see....according to the NAR, now the Bible is of the devil, and the only truth comes from these new, self chosen apostles. Don't check your Bibles folks, just listen to us. That's clearly how this is sounding to me...although they say it in a "cleverly confusing " way... They've been leading up to this for a long time. ...carefully spinning and twisting words. Hold on folks...looks the devil is taking us for a wild ride....or at least those who get on that train.
This was very informative! That you! I too pictures of what C. Peter taught and posted it on my Facebook page. People don’t even know they’re following NAR! !!!
What in the world!! I’ve never seen her before. I guess I’m sheltered but the first of it when she said God was yelling at her, audibly? She is something else!! I think we are over run with people wanting to be preachers cause there is a lot of $ to be had if they can convince enough people of their validity. So sad. 😢
The religious spirit is anything that comes between a false teacher and their bank account.

My family who is charismatic has been so abusive by going around to everyone and telling people even my own spouse that I have a religious and jezebel spirit. Thank you soooo much for calling out the NAR's imaginary demons. That doctrine has been used to slander and abuse me.
I suspect the same thing is happening behind my back too.
Same here
It’s used to slander and abuse a lot of Christians, because the ones using it are likely not saved.
He projects a lot of humility when pronouncing his “prophetic words” about others, but the actual “words” themselves are often very vicious, and he feels justified in proclaiming them because he’s just trying to be “obedient to the Holy Spirit.”
Those who object in the comments section often get shadow-banned; such that all the comments left are praise and agreement.
Such deception is almost unreal.
simply ask them to back up their false teaching and teachers with scripture. point them to 1 cor ch 14 it talks extensively about tongues.
What some call a religious spirit, I call a love of truth.
To these people a spirit of religion is someone who knows the word
Not necessarily, Calvinists claim to know the word, but their 5 point TULIP theology is particularly demonic in several areas.
It all comes down to people's perception and interpretation of God Himself and the scriptures.
Bingo
Satan know the word.
Exactly.
The religious spirit catch phrase charismatics use ranks like top 4 of the most misused phrases/scriptures ever.
1. Judge Not
2. You're a pharisee
3. Religious spirit
4. Touch not the anointed
Yup. Used without recognizing the irony in their usage and taken totally out of context
Doctrine and theology are dirty words to most charismatics. They don't want people to use their minds.
“Jezebel spirit” . Ahab one of most wicked kings and his pagan wife who worshipped Baal ( sacrificing their children)
They love to put periods where there should be commas. For example, 'Judge not, lest you be judged BY YOUR OWN MEASURE'. The last 4 words change the whole meaning, don't you think?
Oh KTC, that is so true! What about 'God is doing a new thing'.. No.5 ?
The conservative movement is anti-Christ - keep coming out!
Thank you for your service in the Body of Christ
@@Waynefitzpatrick2032 Thank you my brother.
A "Religious Spirit" is a thought stopping manipulation.
Amen! No doubt
I agree
Compare this to what Paul said:
17Join one another in following my example, brothers, and carefully observe those who walk according to the pattern we set for you.
@@smookie2351 I knew a cult that ran a "school of the prophets" they thought was similar to the ones Elisha participated in
@@smookie2351
God is the only one who ever could heal.

I’ve been accused of having a religious spirit , and a Pharisee spirit when I challenge NAR theology. I usually respond that there is no such “spirit” in the Bible .🤷♀️
Imagine hearing that but coming from the SBC. It’s me lol I’m that guy.
@@madjack821 That’s sad if it’s coming from the SBC . They have been going astray .
@@janeteaton3240 right? And it’s not like they’re all the same either. You’ve got little country churches who have good intentions but end up a bit clannish and then you’ve got VERY cult-like places like Elevation Church.
@@madjack821 Very true
I have been accused of being a Pharisee by those in the Baptist and Reformed Churches. Jesus told the religious people of His day this:
1 Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2“Why do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They do not wash their hands before they eat.”
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
(Matthew 15:1-3)
Why did the Pharisees not hear the words of Jesus but rather continue to follow their doctrines. Here is Jesus' diagnosis:
43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, refusing to uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!
(John 8:43-45)
Would you say these people 's resistance to the gospel involved a "religious spirit" or that their resistance purely abstract and mental? These scriptures show that people can be bound in a religious system by the operation of spirits. Even so you say that somehow this is not a "religious spirit." If not then what is it? Again, the Longs deal with error with imprecision
You are correct. One clip of Katie Souza was MORE than enough! ;)
Blaming others for having a 'religious spirit' is a thought stopping move.
Yepp.
Exactly. It’s the religious equivalent of claiming you’re racist because you disagree on politics.
Isaiah prophesied correctly about you:
8 ‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.
9 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’
(Matthew 15:3-9)
Their issue was their complete devotion to their religion over the word of God. Jesus Himself said this resistance was due to Satan:
40 But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. 41 You are doing the works of your father.”
“We are not illegitimate children, ” they declared. “Our only Father is God Himself.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.…
Their kinship to the Devil was shown by their attitude towards Jesus and towards the truth.
You two are doing the Lord’s work and warning the people!
Beware of anyone whose theology is informed by their experiences.
Beware of anyone whose experience does not reflect what scripture teaches. They may have some knowledge but they do not know God.
@@Window4503 Well said.
Daniel and Robin, thank you so much.
Many denominational Pastors that run megachurches are wealthy beyond the dreams of any writer in Apostolic times.
Great comment I agree!

Glad to see a fellow believer in ultimate universal reconciliation. The number of us is rapidly growing. Blessings.
Did the Pharisees have a "religious spirit?"

It is such a good thing, that in the new Jerusalem are not the names of the NAR apostles, but of the apostles chosen by Jesus in the Bible.
And . . . give me that old time religion!

That, and the people don't want to hear the true gospel which is about Jesus. They want their ears tickled instead as if the gospel is about them.
No grounding in sound theology.

Yep. Apparently, according to my NAR friends I have not only a religious spirit but a critical spirit. 🙄

AMEN!
I love y’all and your videos! I love watching you interact with each other and the way you complement each other. Thank you for sound teaching! 💕
When Katie Sousa said God woke her up, her impression of God's voice sounded like Long John Silver from Treasure Island 🤦♀️
Thank you for your videos!
❤from Maine!

It reminds me of the cults that come to my door and tell me I have an “unteachable spirit!”
Answer them like the Sopranos would....low pitched voice....loud...
GIT THE FUCK OUT!!
Great video their brother Daniel and Robin. I cannot thank you enough for only playing one clip of Katie Souza. You may have added years to my life LOL. Anyways great job you guys and God bless you
Love you guys💝TY for teaching.
I've been told I "have a spirit of scholarship and no 'personal relationship'".....
I’m so sorry for your loss. Look for a strong biblical church. I attend a gospel of grace church God led me to after I left the charismatic.
I thank God for this chanell. 🙏🏼❤️ May the Lord Jesus Christ leads us into all truth by his true holy spirit and not a spirit of error.
Oh well 🤷🏻♀️ hope you have a blessed day
Hello Valerie! God bless you! Greetings from Derbyshire, England xxx
Hi Valerie! Please continue to comment...your comments and insights are helpful to us and to others! I'm so glad you are in a healthy church where your pastor encourages you to be a Berean. Have a blessed week. RL
Hi Valerie, greetings from Liverpool, England. Please keep commenting. We're all meant to search the scriptures as the Bereans did. ❤️🙏🏠
Hi, they are helpful. Please keep posting. I'm learning a lot from the contribution of others
I've been attacked by Catholics, Charismatics, and Calvinists alike ( Also Church of Christ, Oneness Pentecostals, 7th Day Adventists, Liberal Do-Gooder (Woke) groups. )
I've been a discerning Believer since my simple conversion as teen in 1974.
"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven"
Luke 10:20
Most Believers allow their affections to become worldly centered rather Heavenly.
"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth"
Col 3:2
As far a 'works' referred to in Matt 7, one of the Truths the **HOLY SPIRIT impressed on my heart & mind the moment I trusted Christ was I wouldn't dare Boast before GOD any works I did , but Soley on the Blood of Christ ( 1 Cor 15 )
What bewildered me in those early days, was I soon discovered the so called tongues phenomena, but with a very open , but discerning mind would visit Charismatic Churches (Back then, 1970s , were more Biblical in other areas) but despite their great claims of Tongues, Dreams, and Visions , denied the most precious Comfort and Truth of the Eternal Security of the Believer , which the HOLY SPIRIT also impressed on my heart the moment I Believed on Christ, even though the Evangelical Lutheran who witnessed to me probably didn't believe at the time . I other words, though GOD sent me to an Independent Baptist Church a few years later, the Baptists merely confirmed what the **Spirit taught me at Salvation.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God
1 John 5:13
** HOLY SPITIT Enlightenment of precious truths of the BIBLE is a far cry from mystical Voice of GOD experiences of modern Charismatics
Congratulations. Sounds like you are on the right track.
If it wasn’t taught by the Apostles and the ‘early Church’ then I want nothing to do with it.
The Pharisees, Sadducees, and teachers of religious law all had a religious spirit, plenty of examples.
God bless you both for the service for the Lord you do.
OK> So who ever made the thumbnail for this video... Well done, Yes, Well done. Very funny. God bless ya EH! Its a beauty! Bro John
Bro John in da house! And dats a fact!!
Thanks, John!!
@@theouterplanet Right on my friend. Its a beauty eH! blessings
Im very proud of your truck drivers over there.
God bless you both, thank you for helping to expose these charlatans with the truth of God's Word 🤗❤️🙏📖🙌🕊
I have been told that I'm unteachable if i questions the pastors doctrine
Lol oh no…you’re doing your God-given duty as a Christian…somebody, stop him!
There is a ditch on either side of the road. Opposite the ditch of legalism is the ditch or lawlessness which does not demand repentance or obedience.
God bless you both🙏☺️❤️🕊
Thanks for the encouraging words. Blessings to you this week. RL
This sounds like my old church! Thank God for freedom.
Biblical doctrine is foundational.
Doctrine Matters
Rightly dividing and dispensation is something I didn't know until just recently. Then all hell broke loose.
Being a Berean is usually called having a religious spirit. But so also are those who are habitually fault-finding, are hindered by a spirit of criticism. We have to all be careful not to focus on faults of others, but clean up ourselves and follow Jesus.
Thank you! Just got accused of this by a false teacher. I knew you would have an excellent video!
Great points and there is no need for reformation. Christ got it right from the start and we as his body need is to live his word !
Amen!
thats why they must discredit the scripture because they know their teaching does not survive Biblical scrutiny
Thank your so much, and may GOD continue to bless your, and strengthen your in the word of GOD. Praise be the name of GOD, THE FATHE. AND JESUS CHRIST HIS SON, AND THE KING OF KINGS, LORD OF LORDS, AND THE MESSIAH OF ISRAEL 🇮🇱, AND THE SAVIOR OF OUR SOULS.
THANK YOU FATHER, FOR YOUR MERCY, LOVE, AND YOUR SON.❤️✝️
I find with NAR they all use ways of “finding” different “spirits” in people - especially if someone goes against their movement.
It's awful.
“The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.”
(Proverbs 14:15)
You guys are right on.
Right on....what?
The Charismatic movement as a whole is a movement of the flesh, by the flesh and for the flesh. I left it like 25 years ago and never looked back ever since.
Any assertion of sound, biblical doctrine in the face of NAR whack-a-doodleness is met with the ‘religious spirit’ charge, or flat out being warned to ‘touch not mine anointed’.
Thank you so much.may God bless you and keep you 💙🙏🏼
Exactly, what do they base their direct revelation on?
Thanks you two loved the “church lady “ addition.
Excellent video. I guess agreeing with you and liking it makes me have a religious spirit!
Twisting "the doctrine of demons" to be the "demon of doctrine" - that's playing with your mind!
Yes brother when I tell people don't celebrate anything or do which is not biblical. They hate it .
What in the world!! I’ve never seen her before. I guess I’m sheltered but the first of it when she said God was yelling at her, audibly? She is something else!! I think we are over run with people wanting to be preachers cause there is a lot of $ to be had if they can convince enough people of their validity. So sad. 😢
