Also note that AQ and AQI have episodic rules to level a play to any level for a one off scenario so it is completely possible to battle any dragon at level 6 and skip the campaign. This is how I have played these.
I love AQ but these dragon expansions were a massive letdown. The first stage is competitive but none of that matters since the final stage is co-op. So there's no point for people to attack one another knowing they will have to work together in the final stage so it has this "let's just get this over with" -feeling to it. The final stage as a co-op doesn't quite work either. At this point of the game some players are stronger than others so the weaker players just step aside and wait until the stronger players kill the dragon. So again there's the feeling of "let's just get it over with". The only way I've gotten people to get interested in the dragon stages is with a rule modification providing the more accomplished players with benefits for the next campaign.
I like all the reviews, but I can´t stand the way Tom treats so many of this boardgames, throwing of the miniatures, the cards and that poor box at the end... Have some respect for your games dude... Note: I know anyone can do whatever they want with their stuff... Still painful to watch

I'm slightly confused if we kill the dragon we get new upgrade cards but why do we need them if after the dragons dead the game ends?
Perhaps for when you fight other dragons?
We have had 2 if these for awhile now, but have only used the level 6 cards.
I haven't started arcadia quest yet but, why do you get cool equipment for killing the dragon? isn't the quest over onece you kill it?
You get the level 6 cards at the end of the last (5th) dungeon and then take them into the dragon's lair.
