‘Buena Vista Social Club at Carnegie Hall’ is the recording of the historic performance at New York’s famous Carnegie Hall (one of only 3 concerts ever played by the original line-up), which became the centre-piece of the hugely successful 1999 film directed by Wim Wenders. Produced by Ry Cooder and released 10 years after the show took place, the album features brilliant and unrepeatable performances by legends including Ibrahim Ferrer, Compay Segundo, Rubén González, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo, Cachaíto López, and Guajiro Mirabal.
World Circuit Records have established their reputation by producing some of the finest albums of the past two decades, specialising in music from Cuba and West Africa. The label is best known for the GRAMMY winning Buena Vista Social Club album, which is the biggest selling world music album of all time, and led to the phenomenal rise in popularity of Cuban music.
World Circuit's African artists enjoy equal prestige, including Grammy winning albums from Ali Farka Touré and kora virtuoso Toumani Diabaté, Mali's 'star of stars' Oumou Sangaré, afrobeat legend Tony Allen, and the great Orchestra Baobab.

No tienes que entender el idioma español para disfrutar esta obra musical. Sublime.
There is no need to speak spanish to enjoy and feel this musical beauty. Sublime to the soul!
Bru 👍
El solo del maestro Eliades Ocho al minuto 3:00 no tiene comparación, es extraordinario. Es un minuto y medio de puro deleite, sabrosura, técnica. Vaya cosa.
[Intro]
Por el camino del sitio mío
Un carretero alegre pasó
Con sus canciones que muy sentida
Y muy guajira alegre cantó
[Verso 1]
Me voy al transbordador
A descargar la carreta
Me voy al transbordador
A descargar la carreta
Para cumplir con la meta
De mi pequeña labor
[Coro]
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
[Verso 2]
Yo trabajo sin reposo
Para poderme casar
Yo trabajo sin reposo
Para poderme casar
Y si lo llego a lograr
Seré un guajiro dichoso
[Coro]
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
[Verso 3]
Yo soy guajiro y carretero
Y en el campo vivo bien
Soy guajiro y carretero
Y en el campo vivo bien
Porque el campo es el edén
Más lindo del mundo entero
[Coro]
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
A caballo vamos pa'l monte
[Outro]
Chapea el monte, cultiva el llano
Recoge el fruto, de tu sudor
Chapea el monte, cultiva el llano
Recoge el fruto, de tu sudor
Maravilloso

While @Jagla100 doesn't like this version due to the solos that add a minute and thirty seconds to the song, I don't agree. What amazes me about the Buena Vista Social Club is the richness and sadness that comes across in their music, regardless of whether it's recorded or live. My singular complaint about this live song is the quality of the recording. It is lacking in comparison to some of their other live songs. Otherwise, there will never be another Buena Vista Social Club and that is sad! My of the true greats!
Actually, he is saying that the solo is extraordinary, a minute and thirty seconds of pure delight, savory, and technique
Yes, Art. I am saying (as @Burnt pickle kindly wrote) that this is a masterpiece, and my favorite part of this extraordinary melody is exactly the solos. Enjoy together! Regards from Mexico.
