When I hear this song it makes me think that something is ending, but to be followed by happiness for the rest of my life. Like just sitting outside on a park bench on a beautiful day for the rest of my life without a care in the world. But it leaves me with a sense that this is happening because someone took my normal life away from me. Isn't amazing how a song can make ya go all descriptive :D
@akaoru8sensei Some people think Synthesia is a game to play on your QWERTY keyboard. Others realize that Synthesia is a learning tool to hook up to your MIDI enabled 88 key piano.
Hearing this always takes me years back... damn, those were the days. I still feel it's a great game, but it doesn't feel the same anymore. And I don't mean the new games are ANY better. But the magic is somehow lost...
this is like when you can play this on tifas piano. for the longest time i would play this and any other song i could on her piano. ff7 is the game that made my childhood even if ffx was my first
man, thank you for uploading, and also thank you for the midi, this song is just perfect. Almost brings tears to the eyes, hehehe. Thanks a lot, because of your videos I downloaded the synthesia sw, and now i'm starting to save money for a keyboard with a midi output! See ya soon, and hope you can upload more FF songs
I use Smartscore X Pro to make the midi, which is played in Synthesia. I use Fraps to record the video, and a piano VSTi for the audio. Sony Vegas Pro 8 to edit and crop the video and finally convert the video to MP4 (AVC/AAC) before uploading it to youtube.
@kkwak92 Synth software? It is a program, that you connect your digital piano/keyboard to and play along. Besides you can connect a pedal to any 88 keys keyboard, anything else wouldn't give sense. If you're thinking about qwerty-keyboards, not only is it impossible to play with that, but the guy clearly writes "impossible to play on a real piano", so no he's not referring to qwerty :-)
i want to learn this...and again... not... would be kinda sad to cry everytime i played it... You can only be young once, but you can always be immature :')
I've just started piano this August. In retrospect this piece is easier than I thought a month ago. But I am still struggling at about two spots tho...
@kkwak92 You are aware, that you need to hit the key once, just hit it really quick, not even hold the note, then you can remove your hand, right? There is a pedal you can use to sustian the notes. What you both are referring, is the fact that you have no idea how to play the piano.
This is great. But for some reason I play middle C instead of middle C# at 11 seconds and it sounds bit more authentic. Not sure why but try this and maybe tell me what you think?
That's because the person who made this video followed the same mistakes most people do with this theme, which is trying to simplify it to fit a consistent scale without accidentals or borrowed chords. Look up "music theory lessons from Final Fantasy 7" and there's an article which explains it well - your instincts for C natural are correct.
So I tried to use this video to lay this song on my keyboard and failed, realizing it was impossible for me when my whole hand-span couldn't reach from one key to another in one of the chords. Wow ;_;
@MisterMoes not impossible, yet extremely difficult if you've never played before. Such as me, can't even get a fraction of the right hand right form the intro yet after 2 days. But I'll get there. Eventually. Practice man.
@IQKZZZ im too poor for a teacher, but i can actually do the intro, right hand part ... i guess, alright, not very smoothly yet. And its only been a week of about an hour a day of trying this and a couple other songs (zelda theme, one of the megaman tunes, and this)
@shurgsUK Wow, you really think so? If you think THIS is impossible, you should look at One Winged Angel. THAT would be more classified as "literally impossible" and yet people can still manage to play it.
Wow no its not impossible to play on piano, I can barely read sheet music and have taught myself for about a month and i learned toplay the first 2 minutes of this video in under an hour and a half.
20 yrs later, still gives me goosebumps :]

I am still captivated by the beauty of this song...

this is like when you can play this on tifas piano. for the longest time i would play this and any other song i could on her piano. ff7 is the game that made my childhood even if ffx was my first
Wasn't my first FF to play, but will always be my favorite :' )

I LOVE FINAL FANTACY 7 IS AWESOME

@Harlei3 It's called Synthesia and it is free, but you can get more functionality for $18.
I automatically love you both.
I was hooked on this song before I had even played the game. xD
so nostalgic.
Wow fantastic :o Your piano samples sound great, what did you use ?
ah... this remind of leaving midgar for the first time and leave to explore a vast and memorable journey... Epic moment.
beautiful. nothing else needs to be said.
when im old, im gonna listen to this song and cry
2:53 is surprisingly difficult O_O
i want to learn this...and again... not...
would be kinda sad to cry everytime i played it...
You can only be young once, but you can always be immature :')
@vincible94 As written in the decription, I used fraps.
This and ocarina of time compete as my #1 best game of all time
@cswayliv As I have written, the software I used to record the video with is named fraps.
belle qualité vidéo !
so very nostalgic....................
@gohkko Yes, I made this one myself, as written in the description.
I WILL play this one day. mark my words i shall learn to play this!
Can you play it?😆
This one sounds right, although it's not the full length (I think). I'm gonna go give it a shot on synthesia now.
@Ultimarok fraps, as written in the description...
true FF7 is our childhood
@shurgsUK This is a very easy song to play on piano as far as technicality goes, you could spend years putting a lot of soul into it though
thank you very much!
I've just started piano this August. In retrospect this piece is easier than I thought a month ago. But I am still struggling at about two spots tho...
言程 I can relate! 2 months into playing piano, and this is one of the pieces I'm working on!
FF7 is my childhood
Because there doesn't exist midi files of FF7 Piano Collections? How can I download some which does not exist?
@kkwak92 You are aware, that you need to hit the key once, just hit it really quick, not even hold the note, then you can remove your hand, right? There is a pedal you can use to sustian the notes. What you both are referring, is the fact that you have no idea how to play the piano.
Nostalgia...
this is my childhood game indeed
damn this took me the whole day to learn (practiced 6 hours though) :)) thanks for posting this childhood memorabilia
false
no fair it has taken me like 25min. just to get the first 6 "notes" with both left and right
You're good I took a few days to a week on and off. . . Now memorized it :]
Its realy good! xD But why is the sheet music different from when you play it?
Synthesia is not a good teaching tool, but this song isn't impossible.
This is the actual song albeit in Midi form.
Which midi files? Have you found midi files for FF7 Piano Collections?
@micahw83 I wouldn't even call it moderately difficult compared to classical piano in general. It's still great though.
:'( oh... this song is so beautiful....
This is great. But for some reason I play middle C instead of middle C# at 11 seconds and it sounds bit more authentic. Not sure why but try this and maybe tell me what you think?
Jarrod Barker same here

Do the Touch theme PLEASE!!!!
@MisterMoes Thanks for telling me :D
Hey could you please please link the sheet music for this piece. Thanks
@kkwak92 Hey could you please please link the sheet music for this piece? Thanks.
0:56
Any chance of reuploading the mid? All the old links are down. Would really appreciate it
It doesn't let me download the midi from the link you provided. Even after translating the page it only gives me an option to upload something.
thanks this helped :)
Heyo ! the links are dead. Anyone have updated links to the midi files?
@shurgsUK LOL. No, it's super easy. Just compare this, to something like. Through the fire and the flames on piano, this is easier.
Finally I can play all the notes(at 50% speed...) Months of polishing ahead
Hmmm different from the sheets i use....
Mine are Piano Collections too but there a tad biut harder...
None the less this is nice too!=]
So I tried to use this video to lay this song on my keyboard and failed, realizing it was impossible for me when my whole hand-span couldn't reach from one key to another in one of the chords. Wow ;_;

shit this is so fun to play on the piano. one of the easier tracks from this piano collections
@shrugsUK omg its accually quite simple once u get the hang of it
piano hero
did you use a software to record your own screen on the computer? i used camstudio and it messed up.
The left hand in these vids is always so much louder! 0_o
I'm believe it was 1994 and it took me 127 hours to complete FF7. Playstation 1 ftw.
i got the files, how do i print this thing?? help
could u repost midi link not working thxs
ok, i misunderstood because i always download the midi files to play on this program
There are some weird volume shifts that sound unnatural, but otherwise this is brilliant.
Any mirror to midi?
@55566693 what ball?
Shit, I'd love to use this program to practice when I'm out at school, too bad I don't have a full 88-key keyboard. Damn space constraints, lol.
Ah love it
👋dbangz
What program is this?
@shurgsUK Wow, you really think so? If you think THIS is impossible, you should look at One Winged Angel. THAT would be more classified as "literally impossible" and yet people can still manage to play it.
ha~! good thing I have a perfect hands to play piano!! whoohoo! I'm learning!! the problem is, i only have a 54 keys keyboard... but i have a trick XD
Learning.
Wow wow wow....wait a second... Was that a flashback...??
Yeah, im still in 2013....damn
This reminded me how far yet close 2013 is
why don't you just download the midi files instead of transcribing it?
This song makes me sad. TT.TT
the 3 people who dislikes got impaled by sephiroth , got their bf died for them and saw someone got killed only 2 feet away.
@danluver93 Just keep practicing! I thought the same about mine. Lol. But it's all matter of practice. :-)
@shurgsUK more like it's "impossible"( really hard) to play on synthesia, and soooo much easier on the piano -.-;
The planet weaves a cruel fate for man...
@shurgsUK And yet so many people play this on the piano... It's not impossible dude, watch other people play it.
This would be better if you could actually hear the green notes...
But still, a great piece in E major.
something*
Wow no its not impossible to play on piano, I can barely read sheet music and have taught myself for about a month and i learned toplay the first 2 minutes of this video in under an hour and a half.
