Your channel has provided me with a lot of guidance & motivation to serve my family to the best of my ability. I am forever grateful. This topic has inspired me to make time with my husband and semi-plan our 2025 year. I believe God will continue to utilize your channel and family to inspire others to love Jesus.
You guys just motivated me to sit down with my big wall calendar and look ahead to what’s coming versus just taking it as it comes. Now, how do I reel my husband in on this? He’s always too tired or not in the mood to do this kind of future planning and I want us to be aligned on 2025.
Relatable… I’m speaking to myself here but I found that I have to get permission from him at a good time in advance, and then revisit it with a plan and not ask too much in one sitting. Basically take the lead be specific with a plan and treat it like I would with someone who is not my husband at work like my boss or ceo. It helps I think if I stress the heart behind it and my why and that helps him see how important it is to me. And also I maybe need to dive deeper on why he is rejecting something I love so much 😅
When Katie starts listing the categories at around 30 minutes. I had to put it on half speed so I could write it all down. It sounded so funny though 😂 You guys are such a blessing
Thank you! Could you also share about how you all manage your finances, when it comes to balancing planning monthly needs and planning your year and goals?
Folks this was so timely and helpful!! My husband and I have done various things at the end/beginning of the year but this clarity is fab! Weirdly enough our top priority is Sabbath (our word for the year) with other key things being date night and family rhythms. Very interesting as we couldn’t be living a more different life over here in a central London flat with an 8 month old! Would LOVE more gathered thoughts on Sabbath, there’s a lot of directions to go (we were also inspired by your parents talking about it Katie!) and we are holding it loosely that we’ll trust the Lord, worship, rest, enjoy our relationships vertical and horizontal more if we shoot for sabbath! But also that the devil hates us moving in this direction so expecting friction!! Really value the idea of blocking in the year, never thought of that(!) and seems so obvious and helpful!!! The only tip I have to return is having a ‘marriage investment fund’ to take money from (we used some of it for your courses!) or resources for ours or others marriages - if it builds up we are probably not financially investing in our marriage which often can mean not putting the same effort as friendships/fam/etc - this is separate to date night or hobby money as more ‘big picture’ stuff. But also can be borrowed from in a pinch for something wider that is an investment in one’s marriage like a holiday! Sending love and best wishes from a regular listener in the UK xx
I miss the tent videos... but I was getting weary for you being pregnant, having 5 small children and enduring the cold🥶 Happy to see you warm & cozy again but in your new barn/home you should totally podcast outside when the weather permits!🎉 Just a really beautiful scenery to look at behind you.
On resisting marketing for even good things, one hidden benefit to the autism my husband and I were both (informally) diagnosed with this year is the innate resistance to such advertising. The Asperger's brain hates being marketed/advertsed to, so it naturally backs off and looks at things rationally more easily than perhaps a non-Aspie brain. Thanks for the video!
I love the "I've got this!Right?!"😂 turmotulous tramotulous, your kidding!! 😂😂 I thought it was turmoil.. Turmotulous tramotulous 😂 and Katie so kind "well that would be a different word that what I've heard " so kind 😅 thanks for leaving it in ❤
One of the best planning strategies my husband and I have implemented for our family is to keep every 5th weekend clear for free family time. Maybe we all stay home, cozy in our pajamas. Maybe we go to the zoo. It's up to us depending on how we feel. But we treat that as its own event so that other things don't encroach upon it.
Do you do this in one night as a date night or a week or a weekend? Would you be open to sharing more of your weekly routines? It’s so helpful to have the examples you share to challenge what we have going on or encourage us in what we are doing. Love the content and this video, thank you so much!
I really enjoyed this and plan to do the review with my husband soon. But I feel like I missed something about the vision board part? Is this Ike sitting down and cutting pics out of magazines? Do you look at that regularly? Do you each have your own or one together?
Have you found a community that takes the sabbath day of rest on Saturday, and fellowships as a community on Sunday ? It is what many of us look for but cannot find. So many people are wanting "communities" that are like minded and share community together on a regular basis. Support in building projects, sick meals, good ol fashion community. btw, the newsletter goes to our 1440 email
I really appreciate the time y’all put into putting wholesome content together. I love listening to y’all’s podcast while getting chores done.

My husband and I plan to do this for the first time for our family this year! Thank you so much ❤

Love the idea about setting funds aside for the things you are prioritizing thank you. Seems so obvious for things I do at work but not at home
@ yes!! Indeed!! Or just automatically spending money on friends but not my ‘best friend’ ie my spouse as readily?! A pot helps!!

I think he was creating a mishmash of turbulent, tumultuous, and turmoil.

What do you use as a planner for your year
Time stamps would be so helpful if possible.
Glad you mentioned folowing the Lord and praying at the end
Could I ask what you use for individual and family calendars? Just Trello or physical calendar/planners?
Literally taking notes here! This is so helpful!
Thank you, it's become a long note and it's been a very inspiring watch! We will definitely benefit from this as we adapt it to our lives.

Was wondering this too!
Hi, will your magazine be available in the UK? Thank you 😊
Love this episode! I’m just so curios what the network marketing you are apart of is? I would love to hear more about that!!🙂
Neolife probably?
Neo life. Its supplements

R - realistic 😉
I just realized that Katie looks like princess grace/Grace Kelly if GK were a brunette.
