A few reasons you’ll see receivers that wide open are the defensive scheme may be a zone and there’s nobody covering the zone on a particular route, a missed coverage or the receiver made a move that created enough separation between him and the defender
Well done mate. You definitely understand what is going on in the game. This is chess game with moves and counter moves and not easy to understand. Especially early on. After you go through a whole season of watching games you will have it mastered. Its even a more fun game to play than to watch. ♠
9:55 Pass Interference penalties are tackling or hitting the receiver early before the ball arrives. Basically if you were allowed to tackle the receiver early, the defense would have a huge advantage over the offense. Passing the ball entirely would be nearly impossible if all the defense had to do was tackle or shove the guy trying to catch it away from the ball. Also would not be great for wide receivers' health given their very vulnerable when trying to look up and catch the ball. In this case it's pretty clearly pass interference, though probably unintentional, the defender runs into the receiver and drives him away from the ball before the ball arrives. Generally, if you as the defender turn and locate the ball and leap toward it, any incidental contact you make with the receiver will be overlooked, because you were making an effort to deflect or catch the ball and just happened to hit the receiver, rather than just hitting the receiver to interfere with him catching it. But yeah in this case the defender just makes contact much too early.
Do some tactical vids to learn the game. The offensive line actually does many different tactical schemes. It's not just plow forward or drop back to protect. One of the more complexed positions to play .
When you say "34... they don't know what they're doing..." Actually... He's recognizing the play the Chiefs are running, and letting his teammates know. Anzalone (#34) isn't the most athletic player... but he's very smart. When he's on the field, he's basically the QB of the defense... He calls the play.
This season will also be my first time ever watching a full season (that is, because my friends talked me into albeit I was reluctant at first) and I live in Detroit area... for as long as I can remember, the Lions have been the butt of every football joke so this win was completely unexpected and I hope the team can keep this momentum going forward 👍🏿 Also, will you be checking out NHL highlights when the season starts next month? 👀
@@ChatwinReactsI definitely recommend watching fight compilation videos to get you into it. I highly recommend Fight Night at The Joe being an event you look into, also hard hit cause they’re going even faster on skates when they’re basically tackling each other (I’m partial to Niklas Kronwall, obviously as a Detroit fan)
Had the chiefs stopped the lions on that final third down, they would have been able to call a timeout and force the lions to punt. But the lions got it, which means they could kneel out the game.
Watching it back now, Mahomes actually played really well, that was just a historically bad performance from wide receiver Kadarious Toney. Even with Kelce out, Mahomes did more than enough, all those guys like Toney and Moore had to do to win this game is catch the ball when it hit them in the hands, and they failed spectacularly. Still, strong performance from the Lions credit to them. Most surprising thing to me honestly might've been the Chief's defense of all things, holding the Lions offense to only 14 points.
I'm happy to see KC lose but not happy to see Detroit win. Detroit is in the NFC North, along with the Bears, and Detroit is predicted to win the division. It's the Bears vs Green Bay on Sunday from Soldier Field, the oldest rivalry in the NFL. With Aaron Rodgers gone we're looking to give GB an ass whooping.

#97 Hutchinson on Detroit is a fenominal rookie from Michigan.
He pressured Mahomes most of the night from his def end position.
phenomenal
Not a rookie

Yes once a player has possession of the ball and drops it anyone can pick it up to advance it or fall on it .

That was a good game
Man, those drops killed us. I guarantee the Chiefs will be better next week.
16:59 KC had used all of their timeouts (3 per half). They couldn't stop the clock. Detroit did not have to run another play. So the game is over.

im spurprised this guy hasnt done the larry bird reaction
You can’t touch the receiver before the ball gets to him. Thus a Pass interference was called.
Butterfingers the game. It was so disappointing how many times the ball just slipped off their hands
Don't sleep on the Cincinnati Bengals. They have a good team this year.

J. Allen, Buffalo.

Josh Allen plays for the Bills

Kobe career mixtape
Don't feel bad everybody would have picked the chiefs on that 1
