I just bought this Rocket & the riptide to do with my grandson. Thanks for the build tips on the Viking. It'll help this grandpa find his way. The Riptide is a RTF model just attach the parachute.
“I know my son is supposed to be doing this … but I don’t trust him.” 😂 You and me both! Thanks for the video. First year Cub Scouts Lion & Wolf so double rocket building today.
Thanks Dave. Very well explained. I assembled one rocket last week. Your video would have been helpful to see in advance. Your warnings are very important! Viewers, pay close attention to them.
Nice video. I had the rocket Estes Alpha for a long time and just uploaded a video building it to my channel. I used Gorilla glue, not sure if it was the right glue but it worked. Hope to fly it soon, bad weather here now.
Thanks for this video, Dave. Which launch pad should we have? The one we bought didn’t have a rod thin enough for the launch lug that came with our Viking rockets.
Do not use hot glue for this, heat from engines can melt it with bad results. White glue or wood glue for most of the rocket and model glue for the nose cone.

I love how he used all of the wrong terms for everything (including the door frame) but it still makes perfect sense.

Thanks Dave! Those instructions leave a whole lot to be desired.

I am not sure if my son lost the engine or if the scouts will have it. My son's rocket looks like this, yet no engine.
calimom21 yes the engine is not in kit
Thank you. This video was so helpful. My son's rocket was a success. So glad you used a hot glue gun because I had that handy.
"Fins" not wings. Wings produced aerodynamic lift. Fins provide no lift but create aerodynamic stability.
Lol thanks
Really?
