Some early animal "stunt" effects done by StopMotion animator Joseph Leland Roop (J.L.) with the Mountain Lion and Rex the Horse at [49:18], probably when they couldn't get the animals to do what director Fred Jackman (the camera effects supervisor on *The Lost World* '25) wanted them to do. Nowadays it would be done with computer effects, but back in the 20's it was done in StopMotion puppet animation.
I must confess that I never I considered that this was a stop-motion film. I have seen THE LOST WORLD several times. But comparing Fred Jacknan's stop-motion work in that to THE BLACK CYCLONE... well, I think THE LOST WORLD pales vy comparison!
