When I thought of the initial refrain for this song, I didn't know if I was going to be able to make a full song out of it, but I think the sweet disco beat serves the legend of Strahd rather well! Enjoy!

@Rhido Curup seriously that’s what my party keeps calling Strahd. They did make the mistake of calling him that to his face at which point he just killed the bard who said it raised his corpse and made the party fight their now undead party member.

Running it myself; my version of Strahd is still a horrible, horrible monster... but he's also grown quite bored over the centuries and has developed a bit of a whimsical side.
He is absolutely they type of guy who will sit in a tree singing a song about himself while blatantly following the party, calling them, "My friends!" in a chummy voice, but he's also the kind of guy who would eviscerate a servant for not showing enough respect.
The day has come, my players are going to find the Tome of Strahd.
And I will not be stopped from playing this song.
Fantastic. I like to imagine the Tome of Strahd is a hollowed out case for a walkman with this loaded as a cassette tape.

This is by far their best song. The tune just matches the altered lyrics and the character so well.

The group I'm in finished Curse of Strahd yesterday and got the true ending. The fact that Curse of Strahd videos are starting to show up now is something else 💀 The real MVP was our Paladin for Landing the final hit on Strahd

My party killed Strahd in TWO FREAKING ROUNDS. Don’t ask how this happened; I’m honestly a little scared of them now.
As you should be; adventurers are the number one cause of death amongst BBEGs.

You know, I contemplated ending it like that at one point while writing it. But I realized that it's such an iconic line that I wanted to give it a bit more weight, so I elected to save it and use it in a future song.

I still have to wait after that, because I don't want them to catch on to his plan to find a successor too soon. In my game he's been this elusive lord who did invite them and whom everyone in Barovia is scared of, but whenever he appears to them he's very cordial and polite and it's throwing them for a loop. Well, he did fight them once, on the hill of the druids, but he later explained that as "you opposed me, it was heat of the moment". I'm looking forward to seeing how long I can keep them guessing as to what he really wants out of them.
Playing COS rn, my DM sent this when we got to the final battle. SOOOOO happy I know of this channel and this song now!

@@stephenmichaud6317 I have a particularly motivated group who wanted to play a lot, so we've done 13 sessions in two months. They've been taking their time with it, too, really digging into each NPC they come across to glean as much as they can from them, so it's easy to tailor it depending on if your party wants to rush it or go slow.

I love that he's always two steps ahead, the amazing Lord of Barovia. (Also, Escher might want to redirect his husband's attention to healthier pursuits than concocting games that involve adventurers who want to kill him).

I am so looking forward to them finding the Tome in Vallaki soon and then, cue music! After that they will get the more extended written tome.

Sounds like the Dark Powers helped you in your time of need. Considering the control the domain exerts over teleportation magic, it seems they wanted to add to Strahd's torment by letting you give him the slip ;)

I haven't played but I am using the haunted one background ended up using two bad events for my charater She is Asimar (Fallen) and she a cleric her domain tempest the deites she going to follow is Zeus.

I'm running this for some friends and I really want to (spoilers)
change the card reading to somthing along the lines of one whos gifted in song has the knowledge you seek referring to the book and when they find him this is what he sings.

First draft had that, actually. Took it out for a narrative flow connecting the invitation getting sent with the bit about the party. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't patch that line in every so often when I'm singing it to myself. :P

Since strahd is obviously Russian, it would have been awesome if you had sung it in a Russian accent. For anyone who doesn't realize that he's Russian, Zarovich means son of Zar, just like in Vladimir Putin's name it says, Vladimirovich which means son of Vladimir
It is a patronymic, given to and used by all Slavic peoples.
