Hi! Please measure out your cheeses & 4 cups of milk! I eyeballed it and paid for it later lol
I have 2 tips :) When using tap water to cook, always start with cold. It has a better quality than hot water, which tends to pick up more of what is in the pipes. My other suggestion is to wait until the water is boiling and then add your salt. If you add in the beginning, it has a tendency to stick to the bottom, the sides, etc. of your pan. If you add it when it's boiling it will melt right away to make saltwater and better flavor your food. It will also keep your pasta water pan cleaner. Just a couple of tweaks!
I also think part of your struggle came from adding all of the shredded cheese in at once! I always add it in batches to make sure it all melts well
Sorry to be annoying but how r ur fingers
Your sauce/roux can break when you add all the cheese at once . Going to try your recipe. 💕
Bro, I don’t care how many videos you have on Mac n cheese, I will always watch a new one every time. I made yours for Thanksgiving last year and it was a hit! Definitely making it again this year!
I actually love these follow alongs and I like that you recognize that no one is perfect and mistakes happen or pivots are needed. Makes me feel better! Lol
These are my fav! Also, don't beat yourself up over it not going as "easy/quick" as you planned. That's when all of us home cooks are like "yep! that's the way it goes" and for those learning to cook with you, it's actually really beneficial to see "oh crap, my cheese isn't melting, what do i do? or oh that is too thin, what do I do?". I grew up watching my momma make Sausage and Gravy and every single time I tried to make it as an adult i would "ruin it" when the roux thickened up because I didn't realize you had to just keep stirring in the milk. UNTIL I watched someone make it on youtube & SAW her make it--then realized I was on the right track all along. I just gave up on it before I could get it thinned out.
Love this! Thank you for sharing!
I literally forget I'm watching a cooking recipe. You're so chill. I feel like I'm just cooking along with a friend.
Enjoy all your recipes, so easy to follow & come out delicious.
I showed my mom this Mac and cheese and told I'm making this for Thanksgiving!! She went crazy over it!! We all can't wait to try it!!!
I just watched your mac recipe from 2 years ago to make my list for Thanksgiving 🤤🤤 love a good follow along!!!
I’m making this for my twin daughters’ 3rd birthday party this weekend! I’ve been using this recipe since you posted it 2 years ago, my fam loves it!! You killed this recipe, thank you for sharing!
Thank you! My Husband makes the Cheezits Mac and Cheese every time we have a get together. I’m glad you mentioned that you need to have extra sauce because it will bake into the noodles. Yours look fantastic!
I went to 3 stores to find the noodles. This is my first time actually making baked Mac and cheese I’m so pumped for this recipe. I’m making almost everything for thanksgiving and I’m going all out 🤤
I like how you mix follow alongs (which are very relaxing to me) and your other edited videos.
I’ve made this so many times for friends and family. It’s SO GOOD and everyone tells me it’s the best Mac and cheese they’ve had. Thank you for these recipes we can share with our friends and families 🤍
🔥🔥🔥
Love how relatable your videos are! Been watching your content for a while so easy to follow, keep it !
Let’s goooo!!
I really do appreciate and love your honesty always!!!! Great job always :D
Thank you for this video I’m planning on making this for thanksgiving!! Can’t wait!!
Follow along!? You are KILLING IT. Thank you 🙏
I love that you had hiccups and left them in, it demonstrates how to overcome the issues and we can overcome those when we face them in our own kitchens
I love your videos and your energy has always been fun. These last few videos have felt a little off though. I will always continue to watch because you are awesome!
I was soooo tired during this lol
I have always enjoyed your super sweet recipes!😋❤😘
This was honestly my favorite to watch! Your energy was honest and matched mine for the night before crazy lol
I was exhausted lmao
I have made this several times! It’s the bomb! Making it again this Thanksgiving. 😊
i appreciate that you do these follow alongs and make some mistakes cause thats how you learn! and we get to learn what not to do! Good job
Yes nutmeg is always a staple in my mac but the first time I tried it I used too much and it tasted like a cheese cookie lmao definitely just need a pinch 😂😭 but I'm making the Mac this year since majority of my family requested mine. I feel so honored 🎖 😂 and the cheese is definitely alot easier to whisk into a smooth sauce when you do it by handfuls instead of the whole plate. Once all the cheese melts if you add too much milk you end up a little watery. I used to dump the whole plate in and took me a few times to figure out how to fix it. I'm going to add in cream cheese and dijon this year. That was a great idea 💡 👏🏼
My family is having juicy loosey burgers for thanksgiving because my sister and nephews hate ham and turkey 😂 but I made your Mac and cheese last year and it was a banger everyone loved it! Happy thanksgiving Jordan and Jaclyn 💕💕 🦃
Run it!!
Here in Canada 🇨🇦 thanksgiving is in October..Soo I’ll be making this this weekend!! I’ll call it “ Jords just because cheesy mac” thanks Jordan for always taking care of our taste buds 💕 ps glad your finger tips are all healed!! Xo
I’m here for all of these videos!
I am making this for the fam..
This and your scallops
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Fam!
“We’ll keep it sanitary today” 🤣
I make this every Thanksgiving ever since I saw the original recipe! I LOVE it
Loving the Thanksgiving dishes!! 🧡💛
Needed this. Adding mac and cheese to my thanksgiving spread this year. I take a lot of pride in my spread so I been studying mac and cheese 😂😂😂
Heck yeah perfect just in time for thanksgiving ❤️😭
I followed your old mac n cheese video and made it for my work's Thanksgiving potluck and it was a hit! Even the "chefs" in my office were impressed lol
🔥🔥
I see you killing the game, it’s like you were reading my mind lol I needed a new Mac n cheese recipe!!!!
We are going to my moms to eat then to my dads for games and dessert. I’m making backed Mac and cheese but I actually have my own recipe that I must say is perfection lol. I always get compliments and requests to make it for events! I’m just here to watch and support you! I love your content! Happy holidays!
Keep killing it!!
I made this last year and LOVED IT. I making this again today and adding bacon and jalapeños 🤤
I've always use basic Ritz crackers for my toasty topping but I'm definitely doing the breadcrumb thing 🤤
🔥🔥
Mac attack! I made this for thanksgiving last year and I’m excited to make it again next week!
🔥
All I’m missing is a baking pot but will make this for out little thanksgiving dinner ❤
Love how many cheese options you guys have, we don't have any of that in NZ.
Great recipe I use the same seasonings, love your step by step explaining, thank you. For anyone using nutmeg it is super super strong I only use 1/8th of it for a whole box of Mac and cheese. Try adding white pepper next time😅 just a dash.
okay hour long video! i see you! great shit jordan, you stay killing these videos!
Making this today for a friendsgiving
Making this for Friendsgiving on Saturday 🥺♥️
Soooo GOOD!!!
Not me yelling at the screen "MORE CHEESE SAUCE.......YAAAASSSS!" Great video. Just shows you that it doesn't go perfect everytime, but it still turns out yummy!
🔥🔥🔥
I love the grocery list! Thanks’
You gotta invest in a rotary grater on Amazon. You can shred a whole block of cheese in less than a minute! It’s a game changer! Plus it’s like 20ish buck. We don’t buy bagged cheese anymore, it’s life changing! Plus you won’t take a layer off your finger grating by hand lol
I made this today and it was amazing. I used less than three cups of milk and my cheese sauce thinned out too. But it made it so liquidy and yum
Fire!!!!
We made your Mac and Cheese recipe for our Friendsgiving last year and it was 🤌🤌🤌
Video came at a perfect time! I’m making this for thanksgiving. I already got some of the ingredients. I’m so ready for it. I’ll share a photo on IG!
🔥🔥🔥
You could put your extra cheese sauce on broccoli. That would be tasty
Didn’t even hear George until you mention it lol
Yum looks bomb af!
White Cheddar Cheezits on top are amazing, but I like Panko on mine too 😊 and Ritz crackers are great in a pinch too 😆
🔥🔥
One of my favorite of your recipes! The combination of cheeses is perfection! Definitely on my table this year for both Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Edit: George is adorable with his “I’m the star in this house bro!” My Yorkie Poo is the same way, he will totally ignore me until I am in the kitchen or take out my camera and then he is a diva! 😂
Edit 2: I added my cheese and milk and it in thirds so it melted a bit more evenly. Like you said, low and slow is the secret to a great cheese sauce! I didn’t have the flavored cream cheese on hand, so I used a bit more regular cream cheese but next time I am trying the flavored cream cheese!
Edit 3: Props to you for recognizing your mama cooking for you no matter how her day went! There are days that I gave in to the pizza delivery, but my son always said he wanted my spaghetti 😂 His big green eyes won every time!
This looks delicious 😋
🔥🔥
haha loved this one.. Im thinking ya may have had some drinks with that BBQ lol Keep the cooking real
I counted 45 cranks of that pepper 🤣🤣
Love this! (I do love Swiss cheese, though).
I did this for my family today and it was a huge hit! Thank you so much for sharing this great recipe! The only thing I did differently- I added more seasoning (would I be a good Cajun if I didn’t use Tony Chachere’s??) 😅😂
I am in charge of making: roasted garlic brussels sprouts with bacon, glazed carrots, and creamed corn for Thanksgiving! Also I have to bring Hawaiian rolls because what kind of gathering is it without those???
I like when you make your videos more real. More enjoyable to watch!!!
Say LESS
Anyone else watch his videos just because? I'm not even making this but I love watching them 😆
🔥🔥🔥
Made it. Used Ritz crackers instead.(it's what we had) ❤️ it.
like a podcast for cooking. i love it ❤
Facts tho
You're so calm in this video compared to other ones
I was exhausted Lmao
I made this mac and cheese and it was 🔥
I love your follow alongs so much! they're really great. I hope you'll make some vegan recipes as well, and more meal prep. :) How are your fingers doing?
🔥🔥🔥
Love love love the mac! Whats the trick to making this ahead of time and bringing it for thanksgiving and keeping it creamy and delicious?! I feel like it’s not the same if it’s not served immediately ( probably something I’m doing wrong)
I find it tastes better the next day if I let it come up to room temp then warm it slowly in the oven!
Wish I could’ve seen this video before I made Mac and cheese for our thanksgiving potluck 😅🤤🤤🤤
Christmas!
@@FarnumGrindtime I will redeem myself!
We need a good candied yams video!!!!
I love this recipe. Haven’t tried it yet, but it’s on my calendar for tomorrow night. I can’t wait to taste this. Can I use regular Panko crumbs (instead of Japanese Panko crumbs) and it still be good? #MacAttack ❤
Mac Attack!!!!!
If you can't find the gruyere cheese what is a good substitute
hey! just here to say, that sometimes a more liquid-y sauce is good! if you're cooking a large amount of mac for a big meal, sometimes it can dry out! you have to make it a couple of times to figure out how loose your cheese sauce should be. 💛 keep the content coming! you're doing amazing.
oops i made this comment before you addressed that 😅
Whatever you’re going through, whatever burdens you… it will get better.
The Cavatappi Papi! Haha!
I’m still waiting for you to do a biscuits & gravy recipe 😭 but I’ll definitely be trying this recipe
I’m no Jordan, but if you’re speaking of country gravy, like bacon or sausage, it could not be easier. “Two, two and two.” Two tablespoons bacon or sausage fat, two tablespoons flour, two cups milk. Make your roux with your fat and flour, add your 2 cups milk and whisk over medium heat until desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste and crumbled bacon/sausage as desired. Takes maybe ten minutes, and you can easily increase it (i.e., 3, 3 and 3) as needed.
@@beachblond1968 - that sounds so good. I always mess it up! I’m a Southerner so it’s actually shameful. I’m going to try your recipe. Thank you
@@PamelaH_HappyVibes Let me know how it goes! Add the milk slowly, whisking the whole time. If it starts to clump up really quickly, lower your heat.
I love George he’s your mascot for the channel 😂
The og!
Put the rest of the cheese in like a crockpot and have a fondue bar for an appetizer 😋
Gas
I’ve had this happen before! I found that if I let all the cream cheese melt completely before adding the shredded cheese this doesn’t happen 😊
*cannot cook to save my life*
*still watches every minute of everything Jordan posts*
😇😇
Thank you for addressing the grit! I could never figure out why that kept happening! Oh, and I don't think nutmeg is as necessary as some chefs/cooks would have you believe. Frankly, it makes me think dessert when I can taste it in cheese sauces...
Got you!
Dude! What you trying to do to us?! I mean that ish look good af and FIRE! BUT...#constipationnation 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can’t wait to try this for Thanksgiving!
What size of pasta box did you use?
I think it was 16oz. Sauce is enough for 2 boxes lol
@@FarnumGrindtime thank you!
I want to make this for Thanksgiving, but I do not like gruyere cheese sadly. Any other simple substitutes, such as mozzarella? Thank you :)
Jordan. I have a serious question. I hope you see this. But what are your thoughts about making the sauce the day before thanksgiving so Thursday I can just boil pasta and bake? Thoughts??? I’m trying to be strategic with my cooking time this year
I suppose it could work! Just heat it very slow and keep it moving.
what brand pots and pans do you use?
Water never has taken so long to boil except in your videos 😂😂 didn't u say that was the simmering burner? Why would u put the water to boil on that 1 again lol love your videos I have legit watched all of them keep em coming
Hiiii! What are the servings for this recipe? Making this as a side for Friendsgiving for around like 25-30 people
instead of the philly onion and chive, check out Boursin cheese, its also a spreadable cream cheese.... but its amazing and is the luxury version of cream cheese, best of the best... enhances every recipe you put it in.
It’s good stuff!
could’ve made a rue on the side and once it looks like “dry mashed potatoes” whisk it to your thin sauce and you good
Add cheese a bit at a time until melted....it just separated. I'm definitely trying your recipe with my family.
“And by salt I mean pepper” 😂 MAC ATTACK
I’m hosting thanksgiving for 12 people. I’m cooking a 14pound turkey 🦃 and making all the sides. Creamy mashed taters creamed corn roasted Brussels your Mac n cheese 🫕 home cranberry sauce and honey 🍯 cornbread oh I almost forgot my husbands famous sweet potato casserole 🥘
Is it posible to substitute the colby jack cheese and maybe the gryere 👀 I live in Denmark and it's just not posible to find them anywhere over the counter or online for that matter 🤷♀️😅
Hell yeah!! Have fun!
Could you please send some over to Canada
Can you freeze the cheese sauce a couple of days before actually making the noodles the day of thanksgiving??
Idk if I would freeze
Lmao all my life I hated Swiss cheese. I used to call it “mouse cheese” but now I like it all of a sudden. So strange 😂
What the!!
I’m the same with pickles, hated them until a couple of years ago, now I love them lol
I'm with you on swiss cheese it tastes like stinky feet. 🤣
