Gotta love this scene - MM8 holds so much a special in my heart that these animation skits reminds me of Astro boy being blended with the Gaogaigar vibes + if the gundams as very light hearted than being too serious tone.
I find it interesting that Duo fights Mega Man but holds back, feeling a sense of justice in his heart... but immediately flees after Proto Man arrives. What did Duo see in Proto?
And specifically buy the Japanese version, because I think the English release only has English audio for cutscenes, even on Rockman mode. Or is it just the theme songs?
@@El_Mince I see. I thought that's only in Legacy Collection 1. When I'm finding the Rockman mode in Legacy Collection 2, I have trouble finding it which is why I assumed there's no Japanese mode. Thanks for the answer, I'll look into more in the options. If the cutscenes still kept in English dub for the Japanese version, that's really strange.
This was every 90's anime. The japanese voice acting was good, but the english dub was bad with the exception of anime that was not dubbed into english until around the mid 2000's or later (this would have never happened with Megaman 8 though due to it being a PS1 game and by then the PS1 would be discontinued).
Anime was not a big deal in the west back then, so there were not many high quality anime dubs. The cutscenes from Megaman 8 were no exception. Capcom could have re-dubbed the cutscenes with better voice acting in Megaman Legacy collection 2, but I guess the extra effort was not worth it to them.
What bothers me about the dub more than the awkward delivery is the audio balancing. More often than not, everything sounded a little too quiet, _especially_ Duo's lines.
If only it was the Saturn version or you know what how about decompilation of the Sega Saturn version of MegaMan 8 with Japanese audio and English subtitles as an option.
If you have mega man legacy collection 2 just go to options and change the language to Japanese then play mega man 8 you should now have the japanese sub.

The same sense of justice that MegaMan has. More importantly, he had to go deal with the evil energy, that Dr. Wily has.
Probably also justice, since Duo didn't attack him (and later on left Megaman to his care)
