Many thanks Andy! I don’t suppose you know what could be done with a Terra Nova tent that has the inner PU coating breaking down (very sticky), and the inner seals peeling off? Cost me a fortune, always look after it so well and only used it 3 times in the 6 years I have had it. Of course Terra Nova not interested and can’t replace the fly as it is discontinued. I have seen advice on the internet about washing it, then re-coating the inside of the fly with tent aid fab sealant, then seam grip on the seals, but not feeling confident about doing that in case I ruin it. A video on this would be great, as no videos on this at all. Or any advice very welcome 🤞
@@BackpackingUK thanks for getting back to me! Would you recommend actually washing the inner after applying this or just damp cloth wiping it? Just concerned about the drying process and ensuring it’s not too wet inside.
@@yumna6529I'm the same Yumna, currently in the garden considering whether or not to go all out after having cleaned and proofed the outer. I may just solar wash the ground sheet and leave it at that, as I'm gentle with my inner flooring and rarely get any dirt in the inner so bar human oils etc I think it's pretty spic span and imagine I'd wear it out faster by cleaning it after every camp
I would love to clean my tent this way but unfortuantely my garden is fully paved and there's no hose. Wasn't an issue until I bought a £250 tent and got it filthy... Not really sure what to do! I let it dry both sides just flat on the ground, but couldn't clean it too well
good idea my friend I think I'll be purchasing some thanks good vid by the way good effort, happy trails
It really does work! I got the full kit for just £15 (link in description).
@@BackpackingUK yeah I've seen it on Amazon £14.99 on next day delivery thanks mate 👍👍
Many thanks Andy!

Good tip thanks. I’ve just bought this Pioneer 2 on the sale it’s my first wild camping tent 😍
It's a great tent. My mate has it and he really rates it! I'll review it properly soon.
@@BackpackingUK Yea you should do a review of it. Especially while it’s still on offer 👍🏽
Can you use this inside the tent? If so, how would you say is there best way to do it?
You can clean the inner but I wouldn’t proof it.

You can use a bucket of water, you don't have to use a hose. If it's not freestanding you could clean it and then put it on the washing line!
Watering can?
Brilliant video, Thanks mate.
Thanks. This stuff really does work! The Solarproof is excellent and you instantly see the water beading off.
Hey Andy just been checking out your back catalogue, would this be ok to use on my Soulo ?
Thanks bud
Yes, definitely 👍
Cheers Andy 🙂
No worries, links to buy are in the description. Amazon is the cheapest I could find.
can this be used on hillerberg tents?
Yes, it’s suited to all tent fabrics.
@@BackpackingUK ok thx
How often do you need to clean your tent
If / when it gets muddy. Otherwise once a year for the UV protection and the DWR coating.
What motorbike ya got , are ya going to this year’s TT ?
2018 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory 😁 I’ll be watching the TT but we’re going to the IOM in the bikes early September 👍
@@BackpackingUK Nice bike Iv, got BMW GS 1200 I’ll be in the Isle of Man on next week for TT , just got back from North West 200 .
..cool video keep up the great content... Thank you…
Thanks 👍
@@BackpackingUK Thank you very mutch... have a nice Weekend.... see you….
what a waste of nikwax the tent looked clean))
Unfortunately not, close up it had mud all over the bottom of the tent and the inner bathtub floor. I like my tents to be pristine!
That stuff makes a tent smell like someone puked in it.
It genuinely smells nice!
