- A fan film that pays homage to the classic Pink Panther films in wake of its 60th anniversary. Set between the events of 'Trail of the Pink Panther' and 'Curse of the Pink Panther,' Inspector Clouseau, in pursuit of the Pink Panther diamond, is led to a spa retreat and becomes unwittingly ensnared in a conspiracy involving Countess Chandra.
I mostly got this idea to help fill in the gaps within the original series (as the franchise never really had proper continuity between movies) and since there weren't any PP fan films being made, aside from the ones I've seen back in the days of yonder -- Shadow of the Pink Panther and The Case of the Pink Panther by Victor Schnell.
This fan film took me literally THREE TO FOUR MONTHS, just to cast, since my main actress who was slated to play the Countess wasn't getting back to me on Backstage. In such a scenario, everyone has priorities, thus you must stay on top of scheduling time and dates, because you never know if they may commit to another project at the same time. Although I had quick turnaround with my other actors since of their minor roles, I did not want to start shooting my stuff surrounding Clouseau, prior to receiving my main actor's scenes. I eventually got tired of waiting (ennui) and recast the part with another actress, who did her scenes in pronto time. Even if I was able to finish this and move on, I was pretty much drained from the preceding experience -- but I could certainly fair a lot worse. Enjoy!
