Saved me some headaches on the units I just got my hands on. Thanks, dude. Always nice to see what I'm dealing with before having to crack the case open.
Great video overall. I especially appreciated the subtitles and the gestures you did to point out all the important parts. I wanted to mention that, at 2:30 you had a little trouble slotting the SSD caddy into place, and this is because the black lip on the caddy should be placed on top of the silver edge of the PC’s frame. It provides a pivot point for the caddy, allowing the other side of the caddy to slot into place securely. It also keeps the caddy elevated from (and out of contact with) the board components. Ultimately you got yours in securely, but try that next time you remove the caddy and you’ll see it’s a lot easier to safely secure it like that.
Thanks for mentioning about the caddy haha. Yes that's exactly what happened! I realized that mistake while shooting my other videos afterwards on similar models. I really appreciate your comment!
@@ComputerizedCanada happy to leave a comment! It is one of those details most people wouldn’t really notice but I did because I literally just figured out the mechanism as I was working on my machine. 😎
Do you know if the expansion port supports a USB-C port? I noticed they have USB-C ports for sale online that look like they would fit into the connector on the motherboard, but I don’t know if it would have the capabilities for it to work?
I have this same model.. I'm using an HDMI to DP adapter. After the computer reboots from windows installation, the screen goes blank. Any ideas? It might be the adapter but I don't have any other ones. Thanks
I've been wondering about the design myself. It's metal box-like structure, which I assume is to act as an internal antenna for the Wi-Fi card. I do not think it has any other function. If anyone has better insights please inform.
@@ComputerizedCanada why would storage capacity be limited on a motherboard? As long as a SSD fits the technical requirements it should work, whether 1 TB, 2 TB, 4 TB, etc etc
I love how this video describes the motion for removing the cover but doesn't actually show how it's done, it cuts away LOL. Take this video down, it's terrible.
@@bobhopper609 thanks, I got a similar mini PC from HP and placed under the table is inaudible during normal work. Only when stressed with heavy benchmark the fan produces high pitched whistling noise, but that was just a test and not what these devices are for anyway
Straight and to the point. This is an older style of video.😊 But interesting nonetheless.
Thank you. Pinned :)

Glad it helped.

Sound good!. Thanks
Kudos to Lenovo for making service/upgrades so easy. Great stuff, thanks for showing this!
Thank you for the video, touched on all the things you’d need to upgrade!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much 👍
I can't find an SSD caddy on eBay. A lot of sellers show the correct one but when I receive the item it's the wrong one.
Hello, I just want to check am I able to upgrade a single stick 32GB ram DDR4-3200 SODIMM from crucial with this lenovo thinkcenter tiny?
There is 2nd SSD slot near the memory slot. Is it for M2.NVMe only or we can also use M2.SATA SSD? I just got an M710Q too and want to upgrade it
I've read that there is actually no way to add extra memory next to the one in the rear.

It should work. The spec sheet says that one of the options for the rear ports include a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1
(with DisplayPort Alternate Mode)

I too am using an adapter DP to HDMI and I haven't any problem. You should try on another one
To reset the bios can be done with the pin for components or can not be done?
sabe cual es el procesador maximo que soporta este equipo?
Can you tell me the Wifi & Bluetooth card make & number.
Hi there, it's Intel, model 8260NGW.
Let me know if you have any other questions
Are the motherboards in these tiny pcs sort of standardised with screw hole positions etc?
I doubt it.
Do you have any idea if the m.2 slot for Wi-Fi card supports an m.2 NVME storage device?
I don't think it would without using some form of adapter. If you find out, please let me know!
Do you know how many USB channels it has ? Is it one USB controller on the motherboard?
Sorry I do not have that info.
I have the same, it's good, but I don't know if I can put more RAM in it
It supports up to 32 GB RAM.
What is the max ram limit? 32 gb?
can i upgrade the processor please its speed is small
Yes you can. Make sure the new processor is also 35W TDP though, as the cooling was designed for that thermal envelope.
What is this thing that is conected to the wifi card?. i mean that black box on the front, above usb and off/on switch?

@@ComputerizedCanada This is correct. It is the front Wi-Fi antenna according to the service manual.
What is the best CPU you would advise on this ThinkCenter? Thanks
Core i7-7700T according to Lenovo's own ref specs.

Do you know what the max size of Ram and SSD I can put in mine? Will 1TB and 32GB RAM work?
Hi, it's 32GB max RAM yes. As for storage I haven't seen any thing specified but I think 1TB should be fine.

Is support 3.5" HDD?
Nope
is the cpu replaceable like on the 910q?
Yes it is

Basically just pull the top cover towards the front. Very straightforward.
Can i replace i3 8100 in to M910Q ?
No, only 6th or 7th gens are supported.
how noisy is the fan?
You can hear it in a quiet room, but it's not bad. I compare it to the sound of night time near the woods, if that makes sense.

Any GC possible ?
Hi, What do you mean by 'GC'?
interesting no speaking, for a tech video - thought they speak both English & French in Canada...
