The blacktron astronaut with the smiley face: „Does this look like the face of mercy to you?“
I could never understand why Blacktron are perceived as villains when those smiley faces make them look so gosh darn cute and innocent.
The presence of a Toa Canister in the universe of Lego Space means that Lego Space and Bionicle take place in the same universe.
I love the Easter egg of the Blacktron ship on the tracking system on the updated galaxy explorer!

My favorite Lego theme by far. I loved the Blackteon theme. The original theme anyway.

Space Police first appeared in the 1980s? Cool!
There have been three versions of space police actually!
1989 was when the first SP1 set came out
Glad I stumbled across this video, because I collected four of the 2021 CMF Bounty Hunter, and didn't realize their relationship to Blacktron.
Actually there is one other Blacktron minifig not credited and this one combines both characteristics of both Blacktron gens. It has a black helmet shaped like the ones from Galaxy Squad but the visor is trans. yellow and on his chest is the big Blacktron ‘B’ from like wise from the second gen.. the other notable details about this minifig. is he looks to be the ONLY partially cybernetic Blacktron agent with dark gray metal peg leg and a spacially molded cybernetic arm with claw.
I left him out on purpose. He is a blacktron 2 figure and will be talking about him when I do that video. I do talk about him in my ever space cmf video though.

Gonna rewatch every Blacktron, Mtron, and Futuron for a new moc I wanna work on with the new CMF series 26 Mtron power lifter. Basically imagine all the space factions are basically sorta at war with each other and Mtron is a neutral faction helping both sides repair ships, refuelling ships, and healing any injuries they may have sustained from asteroid clusters, hostile environments, hostile galactic wildlife, or even each other.
Nice research and linking of the past archives to bring 1987 back to 2023. Appreciate the video very well done.

In my own headcanon there is a connection between Wolfpack from Castle and Blacktron as they pretty much do the same thing. They're both often outnumbered by their enemies and the other factions so to overcome the odds they rely on cunning, stealth, speed and intelligence. They are part of a secret society that passes down what they learn to the next generation through the ages, long live the Wolfpack and long live Blacktron😉 Awesome video and will be excited to see when you turn your attention to Blacktron 2😊

While the individuals of Blacktron may be outlaws of the Lego Galaxy, I imagine that the larger corporation is well-established and nigh impervious to law enforcement.

I remember Blacktron. I've got the Series 19 Intergalactic Bounty Hunter.
I wonder: Will BrUB do supplementals when the factions get a new figure or two? For instance, the CMF figure for series 26, the Blacktron Mutant, should add to this retrospective.
I plan on doing a video on black tron 2 at some point and will definitely be adding the new blacktron mutant!

Sounds like blacktron propaganda to me.
Considering how Blacktron made its debut at the end of Space Classic before the introduction of Futuron, and looking at the funky disco logo of that generation, it stands to reason that Blacktron are the legitimate successors to Space Classic. And the black Classic figures were the most sought after.
The recombineablility of the sets is an interesting feature that the Space Classic sets lacked. Space Classic was obviously modelled after real-life space programmes of the time, and has recently been seamlessly integrated into Lego City.
The visors originated with the motorcycle helmets of City, where they make sense. Space suits don't need visors, but the old helmets were replaced with the new design everywhere. The only visor-like feature on a space suit would be the equivalent of sun glasses that actual real-life space suits have. Hence it makes sense they would be opaque.
This is contradicted by the Futuron line which has transparent visors. Futuron also features the same classic brick colours that Classic Space used.
Space Police also have transparent visors, and they arrest exclusively Blacktrons. Either Futuron was not ready in time, or Futuron is simply not being policed.
What's odd are the names of the sets. They have differed between the European and American markets for some reason even for Space Classic, but the American promoters seem to have decided that funky disco neon black = evil.

i'm curious, as to whether or not the April 1st release was supposed to be a prank or not. i really liked the original black Tron theme more, the later one, looked like something from a Disney movie. how is a group of bandits supposed to hide, with a big green b on their suits? it's like Pokémon's team rocket, trying to sneak past a psyduck, wearing a light gray and black suit, with that big bright red r on the chest. if there's ever a third version of black Tron, i'd love it, if there was a group of them, that sported a black suit that looked like the classic Lego space suit, yet with the body using the yellow suit color with black sleeves and gray hands. the visor for no reason could be transparent red, like the Vader ship wings. it would be a total distraction and they could use the Lego city space jet pack in white, also for no reason and call themselves something crazy like taco squad.
The April 1st ones are definitely not an April fools joke because they have been found in the wild!

@@BrickingUpBrad Blacktron III (if it ever comes out) should return to the color scheme of Blacktron I. Or if they do keep the translucent neon green they should at least avoid using white.

Blacktron are supposed to be space criminals.
My ideal blacktron would use the new bluish black cockpits they introduced in Space 2024 but still with some yellow accents and the upside down triforce logo.
If Blacktron 2 was called something else that would be perfectly fine and would be much more suited as they're very cool sets but you're right Blacktron 2 doesn't look intimidating or aggressive so I can't imagine any of the guys from M-Tron or Ice Planet being scared of them.
