The sunrise was amazing and the weather that day was the best we had all cruise which we hadn’t expected being so close to the UK in the English Channel 😀
Visited the island on the long gone Marco Polo with Cruise Maritime, weather was gorgeous even in April. Really enyoed a cream tea in a park overlooking the port as well as a hop on hop off bus around the island. Marco Polo was half way between Sky Princess and a tender in terms of size but well looked after.
We were gutted when Cruise & Maritime ceased trading - we hadn’t been on any of their ships but they were the only cruise line that sailed out of Hull and we would have loved a ten minute drive to the port instead of the 5 hours or so to Southampton.
A quick question, what time was disembarcation? Not usually bothered but our son will be picking us up after our Sky Princess cruise in October. I know it can change but at least he can make some sort of tentative plan.
You pick your time when you are onboard - I think we disembarked at 9.10, they send a sheet to your cabin with timeslots. They then send another confirmation note the day before and I think we were allocated a slot 10 minutes later than I asked for. We embarked at the Mayflower terminal and disembarked at the Cunard terminal. Hope that helps.
@@TravelwithUsLynnePaul Thanks, much appreciated. We embark at Mayflower - the Southampton Boat Show is taking place at the same time at Mayflower Park!! We disembark at Ocean.
@@iangill8984 we are currently on Britannia and it’s the first weekend of the Boat Show when we get back on Sunday, with five ships in, it’s going to be busy 😂😂😂
@@TravelwithUsLynnePaul We went on Brittania the same weekend 6 years ago and the traffic getting to the port was dire but it was on a Sunday and last day of the show. We will probably avoid the dual carriageway and come through the City Centre.
‘Behold the Sun‘ is executed quite nicely in a rather snappy opening. You guys were lucky with really great weather for this day 😊

@@TravelwithUsLynnePaul We cruised with them from Tilbury which is easier to get to than Southampton. We live in Derby so no cruise port is close.

We just need a taxi from Ocean Terminal to take us to our car in Novotel car park and then we will be off back up north !!!
