@ZapDash The traditional family structure is extremely important. A child fares best when they have a present mother and father. This is why the Left wants to ruin the traditional family structure.
ZapDash - Whatever the role of the mother when the male was a baby it will be unconscious later in life. But if it was a good and happy interaction, then those will be the all important core in the mans brain. However, other things can intrude in that all important first six to seven years of life. And then . . . .
@X OP implied that somehow this video shows how PragerU is obsessed with gender. I told him that this video is an obvious response to those who claim that Christianity is patriarchal because it depicts God as male and as a "father," instead of as a female and a mother.
So a man who maybe existed, written about in a book of fairy tales, called an invisible dude who lives on a cloud "father", proving that the thing nobody had ever seen was a man.... Hmmmm....sounds a bit weird...
@Lord Cobra I actually believe that (based on evidence) "Jesus the man" existed. The religious overtones are obviously added over time by hearsay, politics, exaggeration, and wish believe... To me, Jesus is simply one of the greatest historical philosophers...
To be on topic, Jesus called God Father because Jesus was good jew and all good jews call the Hebrew God Father. As for why, then watch the video again to find out
This applies even to animals. In the Pilansburg National Park, a new nature reserve in South Africa, there was a project in the 1970's to relocate orphaned baby elephants to this reserve from other reserves, like Kruger National park. A female Matriarch was brought in to lead the growing herd. All went well until in a few years, the young males became "teenagers", with the same raging hormones that boys have. Anger and sexual violence manifested itself as these youngsters tried to mount Rhinos, often crushing and killing them in the process. As this was a new reserve, the Wardens were at first mystified as to the Rhinos deaths. However, when a Field Ranger witnessed an attempted violent rape of a Rhino, a large Bull Elephant was brought in, and he quickly instilled discipline and order and separated the teenage males into a separate herd until they were mature enough to be herd bulls on their own, in their late 20's to 30's.
We ourselves are animals, we just have a higher intelligence and different social structure etc, and our personality and enviroment shape us so I'd think we would just need that figure, rather than it having to be a father because it can't always be helped etc
@@shrivak : 1) I'm no expert but am aware that most animals have no sense of guilt (and thus attack and eat whatever human and other whenever hungry) and no sense of "ought" as do most humans. 2) We have an understanding of moral valuation not held by animals. So they have no regrets in the sense that humans do when they injure or kill something or someone. 3) The intellectual power of our brains far exceeds that of even the highest of animals approaching the limit of energy consumption - so much so that it contradicts basic theory of evolution which has animal capabilities developing only to the level required for "survival of the fittest". 4) There is a class of animals, "soulish" that seek a relationship with man, e.g. dogs. these animals do endeavor to avoid behavior that displeases their current human "friend" giving the appearance of moral awareness but is really just sensitivity to the human "friend's" commands and/or guidance. I do agree on what you said but also he is just making point on why male or man or father and not mother. He never said that men didn't need mother. In fact if you read the Bible you'll see even Lord Jesus care for his human mother.
The evidence is pretty overwhelming that most single-parent households are moms-running-the-show, and that sons coming out of those arrangements are more messed up than not.
4. In Hebrew the Male noun is also the general unspecified noun... for instance, if you have a large group of only females you refer to them as female but once it is either unspecified or is mixed you use a male noun.
I think it is in all languages where such situation can appear. If there is a mixed group or a person of unknown gender it is used masculine. It is in Semitic languages, European languages, (written) Chinese...
This was also typically understood depending on what one was reading in English, albeit hundreds of years ago, but true nonetheless whenever reading the word ‘men’ for instance when it was used to describe ‘humans’ or ‘the human race’. “All men are created equal..” for example. Yeah. From THAT to Shakespeare and beyond.
So God can't be an "it" because that noun doesn't exist in Hebrew. That means God couldn't exist as such due to language barriers and by that logic couldn't exist before language. Prager gone all out stupid again
I have been wondering about exactly this for a long time and never found a good explanation before. Another incredibly profound video as usual Mr. Prager.
I had a guy in the mall tell me that there is a female God. Or that God is a female. I told him it wasn't true but he had the right to believe that. I asked my dad and he explained to me exactly as Prager just did in this video. God is a spirit. Not a man or woman.
in the original hebrew; God has many names, each with a different specific characterization. For example God as Jehova vs God as Elohim vs God as Jehova-Elohim. These were further grouped into masculine on the 'pillar of justice', feminine traits on the 'pillar of mercy''; with the path of forgiveness between them. Ancient hebrew kabalah (not hollywood new age kabalah) can reveal more as can the Aggadah The Father is atop the resulting hierarchy as all life springs from his virility essentially. The interplay of masculine and feminine is deeply rooted in almost all spiritual and mystical traditions. I correct this video because it reduces the topic to talking points essentially meant for engaging feminists and thats neither alright nor accurate
I honestly do not think God is depicted as male because we earthly males need a Godly male figure. God is not described as male because of us. He is male because of himself, he is the beginning of everything also of this. Adam was the head of the wive, he rules over her. God rules over and created mankind, including the male. As the women was created out of the man, God created the human being from reasons out of himself. I understand that a womanly God would not be logical, but I think the direction of the theoratical explanation of God being a He is wrong in this video. It would be better to state: God created a man in a way that the man has a need for the figure of who God is, a fatherly figure, his Ruler and Caretaker amongst others. From our earthtly intersocial male-female intersocial relations we can better understand the position of God to humans. God created the women in a way that she has a need for the figure who God is to women, The women and male, moreover have in between them needs for a certain relation, which is described above. You guys should seek advise from a theologian for this.
it is only possible to know the information about God that He reveals to us Himself through scripture. Of course, God is Spirit (John 4:24), so is biologically neither male nor female, and He does not have a sexual nature. The simple answer is that God is described in male terms because that best describes how God relates to His creation; God has revealed Himself to humanity in male terms; and God became incarnate as a man, not a woman. Jesus prayed to Him as Father and taught His disciples to do the same (Matt 6:9). The Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, became incarnate as a man, not a woman, and Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit with the pronoun ‘He’ (John 14:16-17). These are not similes or metaphors, but teaching regarding the very nature of God and how He relates to His creation, and how the members of the Godhead relate to each other. God is male in every sense except for the biological. However, ever since the conception of Christ, God is also biologically male. This video isn't a good explanation.
You're arguement with boys growing up without fathers and crime is faulty, correlation doesn't not equal causation. It ignore factors like single women needing to pick up the financial situation from the father's absence, which leads to boys to risking circumstances in order to help their mother
@@johosk5503I never said he was persecuting single mothers. More importantly, it has literally nothing to do with the historic reality of the development of the Hebrew deity and surrounding mythology. "Go slaughter all the women and children, but save the virgin girls for yourself" isn't exactly good fatherly advice.
I tend to gravitate towards truth, and this explanation rings true to me. If nothing else, it's an EXCELLENT description of why we tend to call God he. I must thank you for this well articulated explanation.
Are you sure it has nothing to with God the Father is always described in the masculine by himself, his followers, and that all members of the Godhead revealed themselves as men?
Consider that maybe they used he because that's just the default pronoun. There is no evidence that the original authors had any of this in mind. He just put words in their mouths thousands of years after the fact.
You never thought of it this way because the analogy makes no sense. No where in this video does Prager defend how the case of biological parental figures applies to a supposed omnipotent being so far out of our comprehension that giving a human identifier makes no sense to begin with...

And the worst part about you is when people have clearly called you out you never defend your point of views, all you do is bash on people and its bold of you to assume this person is Male, they sure as hell can be female. And even if they are Male that still does not change a danm thing. God created all beings, Male and female equally. The man cares for the Wife and kids while being the head of the house. While the Women takes care of the Kid and herself. They both are equal!
And what if someone simply is curious and intellectual with their asking? I asked this question not too long ago. Not because I was agitated but rather very curious how/why this pronoun was used.
Jacob Griffin I love the #2 statement and when I heard it in the video it really made a lot of sense. One could surely argue, ‘this is God we’re talking about. Why not create a pronoun specifically for God in order to avoid confusion?’ I can have sympathy for the already large hurdles language put on people of those much earlier times had. So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt not to crate a new pronoun. How about today though? Is there a reason why we don’t create a new pronoun for God? Maybe it should be Ze? I’m not a huge fan of the radical left agenda getting wrapped up in pronouns but maybe this is a moment we can take and grow from their work? Unless it really is that imperative for psychological development that God be seen as a male so other males can associate with the characteristic traits of God? As a psychologist/neuroscientist, I’m not fully convinced that’s the best method for preventing violence. The emergence of Self through development of executive attention has greatly increased non-violent methods for conflict resolution when taught in children ages 4-6 for example (Rueda, Posner, & Rothbart, 2005). So maybe we can help to dismantle a little bit of the strife between sexes in religion now that we have access to a wide variety of additional means to develop anger/violence management?

I was curious about an old, beautiful church where I live, went to their website and learned they’re Episcopal and discovered how anti God they are! It was disappointing and sad. God is not politically correct!
To me, it seems like a leap in logic to relate the harmful effects of the absence of fathers to the benefits of having a male God. A father is present for the children and actively taking a role to shape them, while God is a metaphysical, non-present being. Yes, boys may benefit more from having a male God, but wouldn't girls benefit more from having a female God? I would argue that a genderless God is the best option here, and I disagree with the point that an "it" is unrelatable or unlovable. It's very possible that if God had been genderless all this time, millions of people would still be relating and loving it. In fact, I believe that if the original Hebrew had a genderless pronoun and applied it to God, everyone today would find it natural and there would be nothing to be argued about.
No. Father's are more important in shaping women. Femininity is one thing, but our heavenly Father teaches us values and morals and thus, that's where a woman's morals and values come from overall and what she will seek when she grows up.
@@Dasani_water_drinker Big no. A father figure and a mother figure are equally important in shaping a child’s life. Also, it doesn’t have to come from a parent. For someone to say that mothers or fathers are more important is being disingenuous to the other guardian raising the kid.

0:37 - the most important part of this entire video! That said, God is really a "they" than a mere "he". As in, "Then God said: Let *US* make man in our image, after our likeness." (Gen 1:26a)
That is a reference the Trinity. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is a male. That's why Adam was a man. Made in Gods image. Just as Jesus told us to pray in Their name. This video was made by someone who doesn't understand the Bible.
The US includes the angels. Another explanation is that G-d enlists man to make himself into a man. After all man is the only creation that has freewill and can improve himself. He can choose to go after his impulses and be no better then an animal or he can choose to be a man
God is a he *thousands upon thousands* of times, and never a they. God says the word “us” only around *four* times, and every single time, us doesn’t change its meaning to a multipersonal God. It just means God and others. If I say let us bake a cake you will obviously assume there are others present with me, not that I am multiple persons all at once. God is announcing what he himself is doing to the angels, the hosts of heaven. The very next verse after Genesis 1:26 says we are created in the image of only one person, a he, not a they. SINCE THE TRIUNE GOD IS THREE PERSONS, ONE GOD ENTITY, it would have been confusing to have Jesus a female, or God the Father a female. Fathers and sons can be "beloved" to each other, and since they are of the same triune God, the same gender makes sense. The Holy Spirit is also a He, to avoid confusion, otherwise we have a weird sort of love triangle. We see in Matthew 23:37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing." that Jesus (God) shows some female traits like compassion, which are shown in other parts of Scripture, which helps illustrate God being not just exemplifying a solely male nature. For instance, even though it is clear in Scripture that God is the source of all wisdom, we can see like in Proverbs 8 wisdom being depicted as a female, to make an illustrative point.

Although in the Talmudic part of the Torah and especially in Kabalah God is referred to under the name 'Sh'chinah' - which is feminine, this is only to accentuate the fact that all the creation and nature are actually in the receiving end in reference to the creator and as no part of the creation can perceive the Creator outside of nature, it is adequate to refer to the divine presence in feminine form. My guy we shouldn't reinforce the fragility in a lot of men who try do do everything in their power to be seen an manly, we should instead teach them that that's incredibly immature and childish, because it really is.
what you described is the "shadow" of the masculine. you described the tyrannical potential. masculinity in it's mature form is very loving and compassionate (so is female in it's maturated form), but what it has as different to the female aspect is the ability to preserve justice through action (to protect others). a male has higher chances to protect the weak from someone who is physically poweful as well, compared to a female - due to body strength, size, etc. hence the mature male aspect. that's why God has a component of a Father and is not a brother, let's say. a father is mature in his ideal form. you will ask maybe why the father is mature in his ideal form, and I will answer "because if he stuck around he took responsability - hence he is mature". because he didn't leave, he lived up to the good behavior of being a father once he contributed to the creation of a baby.
A good mother best teaches their child in ways of compassion and class. While a father best teaches discipline and restraint. Vital pillars that influence the mold the characters of the children they raise.

Prager's conclusion is correct (God is best depicted by 'He'), but I disagree with his reasons. It's pretty straightforward. Male and female parent differently. Mothers are inseminated from the outside; they nurture the baby inside their bodies (and cannot leave them, modern mass-murdering of in-utero children aside). Fathers, on the other hand, are 'outside' and 'detached from' the mother and baby. *They can leave, and often do.* For this reason, it is more obviously a CHOICE when the Father stays and supports the mother and child. Our Father in Heaven is like this. He is 'outside' His creation of the universe ('mother earth', where we are materially grown and nourished). And yet He doesn't abandon 'mother earth' or His children within her; in His divine and perfect free will and superabundant love, He *stays,* and attends to our needs. This is much more beautiful and appropriately put in the language of Fatherhood (where staying and caring for the child is a CHOICE) than motherhood (where staying and caring for the child is, at least during pregnancy, is almost an automatic process that, apart from the first moment, doesn't require continued choice). Also, and as others have obviously pointed out, God has told us His preferred pronoun. It's 'He'. And 'Father'. So if you're a Wiccan or whatever, then this doesn't apply to you -- but don't come around to Jews, Muslims, or Christians and try to make us anachronistically revise our own revealed sacred texts to match some feminist ideological complaint about pronouns. Either conform to an existing religion, or make your own up -- but *stop trying to forcefully mutilate existing religions.* They're not your property to play with.

Hate to break this to you Prager U but the Bible also depicted God as a she. It is true that God is depicted as a father but there are also times God is depicted as a mother. In Matthew 23:37 and Luke 13:34 God is seen as a mother hen protecting her brood under her wings. In Isaiah 42:14 God is depicted as a crying woman in labor. In Hosea 13:8 God is depicted as an angry mother bear robbed of her cubs. In Isaiah 49:15 It talks about God not forgetting about you like how a mother doesn't forget her child from the womb. In Psalms 123:2-3 While it does describe that men can look to God like a male slave looks to his master it also describes how like a female slave looks to her mistress women can look up to God. In Luke 15:8-10 the parable depicts God as a woman looking for her lost coin and when the woman finds her lost coin she rejoices over it. While it is true that throughout the Bible God is more commonly depicted as a He it is true that God is also depicted as a She. And like a mother God tenderly cares for each and every single one of us. God can be a powerful role model for men as well as women. Just like when God is depicted as a man He is shown as an example of what a strong leader is. When God is depicted as a women She is showing an example of what a strong and caring mother should be.Prager U implying that God is only depicted as a He is simply wrong. This is why instead of blindly listening to someone's advice we should fact check each and every argument they construct. This is also why it is important as well to read your Bible and throughoughly check every so called preacher, prophet, or teacher's words to make sure they align with the Bible and are not leading you astray.
I looked up all of those verses and found little to your argument. Prager clearly states that God is not actually male and he transcendence gender so describing him either way shouldn't matter. What does matter is the perception people have of God's form especially young men.

@@GodOfMySalvationIsYeshua That's because Hebrew is a gendered language. For example, cattle, sin, year, hand, covenant, door etc. I don't how how can assign gender to these. It's a form of language.
Theo Christian no. There’s a reason why Hebrew is a gender language. I speak several languages and see gender as a more specific expressive advantage and not ambiguous. When it comes to God gender is a role as opposed to as “sex”
No, this is one point where I may have to disagree. Our Heavenly Father is a male, as gender is central to identity. It is clear that God created us in his image. Therefore we can conclude that God would have to have a wife, which is often not spoken of as she is cherished and held sacred by our Father. God's plan is dependent on gender identity and its 2 roles in starting a family. God could not be perfect or be God without having an eternal and equal companion, that being our Heavenly Mother. I almost always agree with Prager University values but God is strictly male with power shared equally with our Mother in Heaven.
depends what you consider love to be. I will make the distinction in the following: if someone is gambling money, you can either (love-1) them and let them gamble and face the horrific consequences of their bahavior if they keep it up and spent all their money. Or you can (love -2) them and tell them the truth, that they are acting towards bad consequences and no matter how much they tell you that they are right, for you to not back down on their self deception. In love-1 you are just mindlessly supporting them in whatever they choose to do without any critical thought, and I dare say it's not love, but something else. It's agreement. You just agree with their point of view. In love-2 you understand they are heading towards a wall and are actively attempting to stop them from heading into a wall. You do not just agree with them, you truely support them in being better human beings. Given the fact that there are only 2 sexes - male and female, and gender is a simple perception of self (one's feeling of own identity) which doesn't constitute a factual information, I would mention the fact that loving-1 them is doing them harm because they are denying reality, while loving-2 them would be the actual form of love. So the conclusion would be that simply affirming someone does not equate love, just approval. Loving someone is being honest with them and meaning them well, aka telling them that they are heading away from reality into illusion and that doing so will have catastrophic consequences. People that do not enforce someone's delusion truely loves them and means them well.

@@zedekiah3563 I read once that the seemingly cruel and wrathful God of the Old Testament can be understood better by knowing how the theology of the ancient Hebrews writing the Old Testament was different from the followers of Jesus’ legacy writing the New Testament. What I remember reading is that essentially, Jewish people saw God as Reality. Reality can seem beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly suited to an individual’s satisfaction one day, and be hell on Earth the next. For them, God decided these things, and frankly it just wasn’t productive or helpful to curse God for His actions, because it’s the same as cursing reality. If you stub your toe on a rock, it’s futile and kind of pathetic to get angry at the rock. What are you going to do, smash every rock you find? You’ll never get them all. You’ll die of thirst in the desert hunting down every last rock. You’ll die of exhaustion digging them up and breaking them. Instead of trying to impose your will on God, on Reality, impose your will on your own mind and embrace God, embrace Reality. Learn to love God and learn to love Reality. And that’s the attitude that informs my attempts to be a good Christian too, it’s just that I see Jesus as the ultimate and eternally applicable role model for how to live that kind of life.

True - whereas God the Father's 'maleness' is more of an analogy to human nature, Jesus (considered the second person of the trinity) is explicitly male in a much more concrete sense. If balance is desired, however, then it may be worth noting that the Holy Spirit (the third person of the trinity) is occasionally referred to in feminine terms.

Napoleon Bonaparte l'Empreur de la Francois Actually, when it comes to answering this question, the literal divinity of Jesus is irrelevant. Jesus could be a fictional character, but that would not change the Bible’s depiction of him.
The reason God is not male or female is because God does not have a physical body like us; He is a Spirit. He does have the characteristics of both a mother and a father because otherwise He could not have been able to create mothers and give them the qualities of a mother. Therefore God as our Father can show us motherly and fatherly love in the absence of a physical father or mother.

God's portrayal as male in the Bible has nothing to do with needing a sky-daddy father figure or being too preoccupied with kindness. The reason for his portrayal as male is simply that the author thought he was male, the same way Canaanites thought some gods were female. Plain and simple.
it's Propaganda because they always equate role models with fathers. Why is that necessary? It's sexist to say that women couldn't be that role model. Prager U is full of shit
I paid attention to what he didn't say, but then I reminded myself that his view is from his perspective as an orthodoxed Jew. So he's not inclined to say God is masculine because Christ referred to him as The Father. The reasoning is still good and all the more reason why we should avoid downplaying God's plan with genders.
Rose NoHo you seem to be coming at this from an atheists perspective. Is that true? And if so I’m wondering how are you have come to be so confident in your views. Never trust a Jew who doesn't believe in the fullness of the Bible to tell you what it means. 1. God made Man in His image. 2. God appeared to Moses in the image of Man. 3. God appeared in the flesh (Jesus) as a man. 4 Jesus said, "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him." 5. Men do NOT commit most violence, we are all sinners before God. 6. God, by scriptural accounts, is a male figure but not a human man, Jesus is though. 7. God impregnated a human female and didn't impregnate Himself. 8. Mary is queen and mother in the eternal kingdom of God.
The only people who don't agree on whether or not God is a "He", are also people who can't agree on or submit to God. If everyone believed what the Bible said, everyone would agree that God prefers to be referred to as a "He". Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world, in which no one can agree on who is the real God. "14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 17:14
I once read a religious article by Sir Peter Kreft, one of the foremost Christian religious thinkers back in England that said that God is also a mother
@Orthodox_Muslim Mary's getting pregnant with Jesus the Christ was a direct creative act by the Holy Spirit. There was no sexual intercourse as it looks like you're trying to imply.
God is a he, and that is the way it is meant to be. What is not meant to be is when men use the fact that god is a man, as a justification to demean or belittle the role of women. Or endowed superiority justifies the permission to beat or harm their wives due to a submissive/less dominant status.
@@steyrauga1 I do agree that the certain verses in the Quran state that, but I do not think this applies to just religion.... men naturally are more stronger than women so becuase of this superiority some men can abuse that. the bible is great in the sense that it does not condone such practices, especially in the new testament because stoning against women ws justified in the old testament for the purposes of adultery

He never said men didn’t need mothers
I do agree on what you said but also he is just making point on why male or man or father and not mother. He never said that men didn't need mother. In fact if you read the Bible you'll see even Lord Jesus care for his human mother.

Same in Latin.
interestingly, in Hebrew it flips when talking about numbers. But only then
Adam also means human beings
This was also typically understood depending on what one was reading in English, albeit hundreds of years ago, but true nonetheless whenever reading the word ‘men’ for instance when it was used to describe ‘humans’ or ‘the human race’.

@@btsnyder1s No shit
Ancient hebrew kabalah (not hollywood new age kabalah) can reveal more as can the Aggadah
The Father is atop the resulting hierarchy as all life springs from his virility essentially.
God created the women in a way that she has a need for the figure who God is to women,
The women and male, moreover have in between them needs for a certain relation, which is described above.
You guys should seek advise from a theologian for this.
What is that profile picture?
it is only possible to know the information about God that He reveals to us Himself through scripture.
This man is not persecuting single mothers, he is presenting facts.
@@johosk5503I never said he was persecuting single mothers. The video is ultimately trying to make an argument, but does not give an adequate causation to a correlation, thus can be rejected until a causation is presented. It would be like if I left a bag of hot fries and a pint of cold ice cream out to sit for several hours then making the argument that my ice cream melted because my fries got cold.

'I tend to gravitate towards the truth so I believe this thing that sounds nice but had no evidence'
And why is it retarded? Cant you let him have his opinion in peace, plus this video did quite a good job explaining why we call God a he.
Consider that maybe they used he because that's just the default pronoun. There is no evidence that the original authors had any of this in mind. He just put words in their mouths thousands of years after the fact.

If I say let us bake a cake you will obviously assume there are others present with me, not that I am multiple persons all at once. honestly dont see how his gender is up to debate. It's very clearly set in stone

"God has no body, no genitalia, therefore the very idea that God is male or female is patently absurd. We refer to God using masculine terms simply for convenience's sake, because Hebrew has no neutral gender; God is no more male than a table is."

what you described is the "shadow" of the masculine. you described the tyrannical potential. masculinity in it's mature form is very loving and compassionate (so is female in it's maturated form), but what it has as different to the female aspect is the ability to preserve justice through action (to protect others). a male has higher chances to protect the weak from someone who is physically poweful as well, compared to a female - due to body strength, size, etc. hence the mature male aspect. that's why God has a component of a Father and is not a brother, let's say. a father is mature in his ideal form. you will ask maybe why the father is mature in his ideal form, and I will answer "because if he stuck around he took responsability - hence he is mature". because he didn't leave, he lived up to the good behavior of being a father once he contributed to the creation of a baby.
A good mother best teaches their child in ways of compassion and class. While a father best teaches discipline and restraint. Vital pillars that influence the mold the characters of the children they raise.

4) Death for Adultery If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT) 5) Death for Fornication a priest’s daughter who loses her honour by committing fornication and thereby dishonours her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
6) Death to Followers of Other Religions Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB) 7) Kill Nonbelievers They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
8) Kill Sons of Sinners Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB) 9) God Will Kill the Children of Sinners If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT)
10) The following passage shows that slaves are clearly property to be bought and sold like livestock. However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
11) The following passage describes the sickening practice of sex slavery. How can anyone think it is moral to sell your own daughter as a sex slave? When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
12) More Murder Rape and Pillage (Deuteronomy 20:10-14) As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labour. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town.

@Austin Martín Hernandez I respect PragerU video.

Exactly--spirit has no gender; but I am so glad I have a personal relationship with my heavenly *Father*. ❤
Oh brother did you just impose a gender on this god and just expect him to play along
In Hebrew, spirit has a gender. It's female
"We cannot obey or love an it"
But we can obey or love a they. We can have relationships with non binary people
depends what you consider love to be.

Reality can seem beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly suited to an individual’s satisfaction one day, and be hell on Earth the next. One of the bigger reasons is because Jesus was a man, which would be the reason why we in the Christian dominated west mostly consider God a “He”
True - whereas God the Father's 'maleness' is more of an analogy to human nature, Jesus (considered the second person of the trinity) is explicitly male in a much more concrete sense. If balance is desired, however, then it may be worth noting that the Holy Spirit (the third person of the trinity) is occasionally referred to in feminine terms.

@@steyrauga1 where the heck did you hear that you idiot
From the Atheist Conservative community: We appreciate this video. Nice arguments
Love to prageru
swapnarka arnan Good to hear. The Oh yeah yeah crew has a diverse opinion of political views.
@On SB yes. Because not everything involves gender. Being pro male doesn't mean anti female. Also have you even watched the whole video
@On SB Of the few I've see, PragerU is very critical about the feminist movement than anti-woman. Two completely different things.
please start puting links or book names in description for your info? (hoppe i pronounced it right)
Even without sources, his words bless
Hope you pronounce what right?
Did you check the transcript?
Most of what he talks about doesn't actually use any facts. Based off of opinions and fake charts with no actual data.
0:40 If God transcends gender doesn't that make God non-binary?
Non-binary isn’t real so no
@@akzebraminer bruh
3:56 but weren’t all those traits Already associated with females for many centuries?
aww, aren't you sweet?
I'm sorry to tell you, but Prager "U" is just propaganda for use by people already committed to its cause. Prager is a conservative radio shock jock with no academic credentials. Good work on checking his BS, though. If you check out his 'debates', you can see how disingenuous (I don't think he's really dumb) he truly is.
@@channalmath8628 lol isnt that right. They explain complex matters so lazily and simply that a child could pick up on it
ChannalMath
I still find it confusing and funny at the same time at how you leftists are so quick into name calling. Makes me wonder how strong you faith is with God (if you are Christian or Jewish, of course) this man provided facts backed up by data and you have provided nothing. The word dumb shouldn’t be thrown around so easily.
Gungholio
Orrrr maybe they’re explaining it more simply for people to understand it quicker and easier. Say for example if you are starting to just learn about these things now at a beginner level.
I saw this as an ad and watched the whole thing. I think that no matter your beliefs or worldviews on things, this is a take on things worth hearing.
It's pretty trash view
346 feminists are having a temper tantrum right now.
Don't forget Knowing Better's audience.
Though they're more shaking their heads and going "Isn't it a pity people believe that way?...if only they were smart like me"
As a Prager fan, I do actually like a lot of Knowing Better's content, though.

Good to know other people don"t have temper tantrum
1:15 Why not? If -he's- *it's* responsible for love, then why can't -he- *it* make us love -him- *it*
Because God has given us free will.
@@chidozieezeome2847 Firstly, there is no free will to the fullest extent and even if there was, then god could still decide to make us love something called by the 'it' pronoun.
@@神の人-f2k why do you say there is no free will to the fullest extent? Could you clarify?
