The fallen tree and team clearing effort was the best. Everyone has pictures of the Sacred Pools, but the tree was exceptional. Thanks for including that!
Your videos always have that perfect flavor for me. Not just the sights/attractions/travel tips, but your general life messages as well. Glad you were all safe!
Gorgeous waterfalls and pools. Glad you got to see those without throngs of tourists surrounding you. Thanks for the loave/loaf correction... get outta my head Stepho! Also loved the tree...it’s also a metaphor for how you get to go on all these adventures; just like you couldn’t continue on that road without the kindness of strangers, you can’t continue on your adventures without UA-cam subs, Patreonites, Superheart givers and everyone else who contributes their attention and/or money to you. Tree or travel, it takes a community to continue. Cheers!
Always thoroughly appreciate the full production and the way you compose each and every clip to bring us these amazing travel experiences. They truly are a wonderful and personal insight of what one can expect. Showing the wonders along with the not so fun moments is a great way to express an unbiased and honest opinion. I especially liked the positive soul-stirring message towards the end. Very gratifying. And having included the word "Petrol" was a nice international touch. 10 out of 10
Thanks for making this video Steph, very helpful. I've now added a couple items to my list to bring along, and am considering doing the loop in reverse as well.
Hi Steph, been watching your videos lately and I love them!! You videos does not only show us beautiful places and amazing cinematography, but it also gives us a very positive vibe which is the best part. Keep up the great job!! :)
You mention checking to see if the pools are open for swimming. Last time we were up there I thought they said they were permanently closed to swimming. You are right on getting up early to hit the road. Whether you go up and back or around the whole way don’t sleep in, your trip will be much more rewarding.
Beautifully done...and I'm not speaking about you. You are a comedian and very well done (the video). The tips of the open/closed stands at the beginning and end was fantastic knowledge. What an amazing event towards the end with the fallen tree. I am also going to be staying just just north of Lahaina and this could've been devastating. What a beautiful lady and beautiful speech at the end....truly amazing lady!
It should be noted that a lot of the rental car companies bar you from taking a rental car past the Haleakalā National Park (or going counter-clockwise). It said it in our contract. So proceed with caution if you have a rental car!
Awesome video!!! LOVE the road to Hana. The day that I did it it rained and that actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise because there were soooo many waterfalls all over the place. I also did the conventional clockwise route but did travel the entire road all the way around and by the time I reached the lower side of Haleakala the sun was setting and the views were EPIC (just a heads up in case you’d like to try it again. But yeah, between the lava tubes, the bamboo forest hike up to waimoku falls, Oheo gulch, the black sand beach (next time I wanna visit the red sand beach as well) and everything in between this is a MUST do for anyone visiting Maui. You just gained a subscriber😃✌🏽
ABSV /a beautiful sunset vlog For sure!! I’d love to do it again clockwise. Red Sand Beach and Haleakala are on my list for next time! Thanks for the sub 😊
Great video Steph. I felt like this was a true travel day in the life of Steph Tayler. And I wish more travel videos would do this, but sometimes you run into a few problems and speed bumps. Not every travel day is wonderful and glorious. I'm way overdue for a return visit to Hawai'i. Haven't been there since 2007. Oh and I see your subscribers are growing. Getting close to 10K!
STL what an awesome video. The tree falling literally may have been a little let down...but everyone helping to remove it was uplifting! (pun intended). What a great message to include in your video and the way you told it gave me all the good feelings! Thank you!
Wow, nice story. I just drove the loop last week and what a journey it was. I should have taken two days or more to do it, but I was short on time. I even made it to the top of the peak at 10,000ft in the same day, but the road to Hana was the best. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
What a wonderful video, so beautifully done. We had this trip three years ago and wish I've seen this video. We rented a Jeep SUV, not good at all, while driving back in the dark my family were thinking of our Subaru from home, Subaru would make this trip safer and more enjoyable.
Honestly you and the way u speak is a treat to the eyes .... your video direction n coverage is class apart ... way more better than many professionals ... so that makes u an indirect professional too. I wish n pray u get a 6 digits subscribes soon ... honestly like many others even I m surprised by these low number of subscribers ... the video quality n research u do deserves 1 lakh atleast... which u will get soon ... May u get a show of your own on a renowned channel one day ... God bless u and your talent. Love from India 😍👏🏼👌🏼
Steph have done this drive twice clockwise never thought of that, going backward it's more risky that way. if you start early it is the best.Luv your vids.
I really like Waiʻānapanapa State Park and Black Sand Beach. The Kīpahulu area where the Pīpīwai Trail to Waimoku Falls are in Haleakalā National Park is also top of my list. The “7 sacred pools” is called, ‘Ohe'o Gulch and is a magical place of wonder. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing! My wife and I just returned from our first visit to the island via an island hopping cruise line. We didn't have time to do the "Road to Hana" but did rent a vehicle and climbed up Haleakula. Hana next time? First time visitor to your channel. It's incredibly well done. Feel like we were along for the ride with you.
Crazy about the tree! Aren’t the “Seven Sacred Pools” closed indefinitely. I was just there a couple of weeks ago and that’s how it appeared. Camping in Kipahulu is a great way to break the trip up and give more time to see things along the way. I took the back way out super early and avoided a bunch of traffic that way.
these are great vids Steph. I was at Kanapalli resort and was on the way but I had a rental car and started to go but uh no, I will have to try something else and by the looks of the time and things close down I'm glad I didn't try. Great vid and great info. I saw your Kauai vid and I'm seriously thinking of trying that next year. Thanks again
Intense is another word for scared as hell! I and two other friends took this trip and I’m still traumatized by the cliff driving but I’d probably do it again! Lol
I totally agree I pressed the like button. Haha. Also, The last time I was behind the power curve I said . “By the power of the curve , I have the power ” just kidding. Your video is awesome. It was great to see such team work as well. What was your favorite beach from the trip? And food kind of food?
1 month ago i did the road to hana with my best friend. it was so fucking amazing and i am speechless about the nature on maui. So Great. thanks for your video i did enjoyed to re-watch the road to hana again, unfortunately we did not film this trip, but we did take a lot of photos :) We did also stop by Hana Farms - the banana bread was amazing Have a great time!
You seemed surprised that a couple of men cleared the road of a downed tree. It’s what we do. We don’t turn around and drive 100 miles the other way to avoid an obstacle in the road.
Well done Steph! This video brings back wonderful memories of my “Road to Hana” adventure. The road wasn’t open to go counter clockwise when I was there and the waterfalls weren’t flowing like your video. The camera work was wonderful. Did you get special permission to use your drone? Thanks for delivering another excellent video on Hawaii. God Bless and Take Care.
I love your video and I will definitely use your advice! My family and I are going to Hawaii in January of 2020. My only question is that where is this location at 4:08? Thank you!!!
We are going to Maui next month and rented an Airbnb for 2 days to fully explore the road to Hana due to your advice. We are considering taking it reversed also. Like you, we prefer to travel the world, rather than own a castle.
I 100% agree with you, that's how I live my life, just enjoy it you only get 1, slow down and take it all in, I can't wait to get to Maui in Sept for our honeymoon!!!! Great video thank u
My wife and I have been to the island and took the road to Hanna. I was going to drive myself but she talked me out of it and we took a tour bus. Glad I did. The drive was very tricky and if you have a rental you can get fined if your caught and do damage to the vehicle on the road to Hanna. Not worth the risk. What you did was being a dumb ass. We saw everything and could just relax. The drivers are locals and know so much.
You chose the lazy, unadventurous way. Different people prefer different ways of doing things. Some are up for an adventure and some would rather sit in a bus. No need to name call.
Calling someone a dumb ass because they decided to do something you were too scared to do? Seriously? Grow up. We drove the road to Hana the same as thousands of others have done.
So, a couple of questions. It seemed that there were pluses and minuses to taking the road in reverse. Do you think it is better in reverse or not? Is it worth considering staying the night and breaking the route into two days, or does it make more sense to just dedicate a day to it? Your photography is great, and I really like that you don't make this an IG photoshoot of you, but rather focus on the journey while still letting your personality come through.
“…goals are great but just don’t forget to appreciate the journey…”
Very well said. Like it!
Being a Mauian...that's how we roll! Great video! I love watching how people showcase Maui, my home. Mahalo Plenty!
Gorgeous waterfalls and pools. Glad you got to see those without throngs of tourists surrounding you. Thanks for the loave/loaf correction... get outta my head Stepho! Amazing it was so cool how everyone came together to move the tree. Really enjoyed that one Steph.
I rode my bicycle around Maui taking the Hana Road and camping in 1984, one of the great trips.
Always thoroughly appreciate the full production and the way you compose each and every clip to bring us these amazing travel experiences. BrisWiz Thanks for the kind words, Brett 😊 Thoughtful review. Yes - petrol was just for you lol
@@StephTaylerLive I knew it! 😁 lol
"Appreciate the journey." Could not have said it better myself. Thank you for sharing your journeys with all of us! :)
Thanks for making this video Steph, very helpful. I've now added a couple items to my list to bring along, and am considering doing the loop in reverse as well.
I truly enjoy this video.
What great footage on the people working together to get the tree out the way.
Wow!!
okay am i the only one who got choked up with the tree clearing? this was such an adventure, Steph!! I'm in awe of you.
Lola Rhodes Awwwwww ❤️
@@StephTaylerLive You had a great adventure.. This what traveling is all about

Another amazing video.
At first them roads put me off.
Then I saw the waterfalls.
Wow.
Woah , what an adventure! Thanks Steph for all these wonderful, amazing and dangerous impressions. Woah, that definite s place to go to

Whooaahh those water falllls doe!❤❤ So cool that everyone chipped in to help get that tree cleared, so you did not have to turn around!!
Great vids, we just got back from Kauai and look forward to planning our Maui trip soon.
So awesome with the tree loving efforts!❤

Great vid, wonder how long the tree was down before you arrived. Lucky it didn't fall on a vehicle. So nice to see people coming together.

loved the team work
Good stuff!
Great video, we'll done! Was there in Feb and had an amazing time.
Intense is another word for scared as hell! I and two other friends took this trip and I’m still traumatized by the cliff driving but I’d probably do it again! Lol
I live on O'ahu, but never been on the road to hana.
That road is the craziest I have ever driven.
There is a Road to Hana GyPSy App that is excellent when taking the Road to Hana either way. Gives you hints and history along the way.
Yours for only 8.99$ Remember to enjoy your travels!
Lol kinda got annoyed each time he says “peninsular”

Steph Tayler Live Likewise, I was waiting for a feminist to say that 😇
DiogenesofSinope1 hahaha! Well, brace yourself for several more 😬😜
thats why i keep a machette in the car at all times! (I drive this road every week)

You are an Angel just arrived to Hawaii 😍😘❤❤❤
Backside is the best way to do Hana
And yaasssss for the tree chuckers!!

amazing vlog you are surprise me thanks
I love your video and I will definitely use your advice! My family and I are going to Hawaii in January of 2020. My only question is that where is this location at 4:08? Thank you!!!
If you get a flat tire while taking the backroads to Hana, you’re literally screwed. Rental car companies won’t cover you. Just a FYI.
Drove to Hana the first time in a stick shift honda wagon, big mistakey. Drive a small auto, 4wd if possible also.
We are going to Maui next month and rented an Airbnb for 2 days to fully explore the road to Hana due to your advice. We are considering taking it reversed also. Like you, we prefer to travel the world, rather than own a castle.
I did road to Hana in reverse too, the drive was crazy scary, but all worth it🥰

Good stuff !!! Some real aloha for sure
How long did it take you to get to 7 pools? And where did you start.
Nice sound
When you say counter clockwise does that mean you drove past all the sights and started at the end?
The road is a loop. She drove the loop counter-clockwise instead of clockwise.
I made that trip April 24th 2019 beautiful trip.
I’m watching all your videos. Luv them.
What’s your full time?
So, a couple of questions. It seemed that there were pluses and minuses to taking the road in reverse. Do you think it is better in reverse or not?
