      I'm 29 and trying to learn about the 30's in advance. However I am trying to learn and understand this statement as I haven't came to this realisation yet. A lot of things matter to me but how do I come to the concept of nothing matters? Is it more about grounding yourself and focusing on the now because the present moment is all that matters? and when we die, in 500 years...we will no longer matter? Is that your way of thinking?

      @@tanyarenaissance8829 OMG I'm in the same boat! haha. I'll be 30 in September. From what I can take from the initial comment is that you shouldn't stress about things. Live in the moment that you are in and continue to find exciting, healthy, and impactful experiences in your life. Whether that is traveling, learning a language, exploring more of your passions, or even discovering cool and new recipes. :)

      it means you don't matter either then. Why are you living then? People who say nothing matters are just upset they didn't find any meaning and try to reason it out but claiming nothing around matters either. Actually, everything matters. If it didn't, it wouldn't exist. Now look honestly at yourself and try do understand why there is no meaning in your life.

    Great advice for life! Now at 40, it took some of my thirties to figure these things out. One quote I’ve found helpful in life is “You’ll worry what people think of you until you realize they don’t.” No idea who to attribute it too. Keep up the good work!

    What i learned in my 40s is don't like life too seriously (negatives and positives). Everything can change in a moment and i have no control.

  • @billn.1318
    @billn.1318 3 роки тому +7

    I still remember listening to blink 182's "What's my age again?" back in 8th grade when they say "nobody likes you when you're 23". While that sounds negative, I learned that in my early 20s nobody did "care" about you when you were 23 and that is about the time you realized that you are not 18 or 21 anymore, you are crossing that path to adulthood and truly claim independence, leaving the days of youthful late teens and start taking control of your life. I did not to start to feel like my "age" until I was 28 and realize my career is my life that will lead me into my 30s and beyond (because I love my profession). Everyone is different but I had less friends and only a few remained as close friends, you still keep in touch with old friends but your work schedule is your best friend and also your worst enemy. You are more inclined to stay at home and relax than going to the bars (some people really love to be out at the bars - especially if you are single) but I came from a life of party background and I didn't relax until I was 32 and called it quits on going to the bars. I am also in a long term relationship (with marriage potential) and I am with someone who is also in their 30s, no kids, has a profession and no rush to be in a marriage. The most important thing you can do in your 30s is to stay active. Exercise 3-4 times a week and keep the weight off because when you are in your 30s, it is really difficult to get the weight off unless you have an extremely good metabolism. Weight gain is easier in your 30s. Because you are not as "active" as you should be and your body takes a while longer to recover. If you have a career, dont get too overwhelmed and dont let stress take over your day and time. When you get out of work, you get your mind off of work. Unless you work in a profession that requires off duty attention such as a surgeon, dentist, law enforcement, military, business owner, on call service techs etc.. Always know that there are many 30 somethings in this world experiencing the same darn thing and keep your closest friend closer to your life because they are important to have. I have 4 long life best friends who I have been friends with since 8th grade. We are all in our 30s now and we make fun of each other of how old we are now but it still makes us happy that we know each other so well all these years and still going strong. Making new friends in your 30s is tough. Especially when it comes to males making friends with other males in your 30s because its a different approach. The last person I made friends with in my early 30s was 3 years ago and it was a former co worker who I ran into at a bar and we hangout here and there. Everyone is different and your experience may differ than mine. If you are still reading this, enjoy your life and really, dont let age get to you. Enjoy every moment of your 30s. Embrace it.

    I was in a relationship that sounded a bit like yours. After 7 years, the breakup with my boyfriend looking back was a blessing in disguise. The moment I stepped foot in a grocery store after my breakup, I didn’t know what to buy. I had to remind myself that I could buy… whatever I wanted. Looking back, my boyfriend had decided everything we bought for groceries while also judged me for any items I wanted to buy and in which case, I let him change my mind. Happy to be out of that relationship.

      My biggest lesson was how credit scores worked and the importance of building credit. I spent my late teens, twenties, and early thirties in the military and never had credit cards or took out any loans. When I was medically retired at 35, I realized I had no credit what-so ever, and really wished I had of built up credit history. They really should teach that information in High School economics class.

    A lot of this is excellent advice. I'd like to add my 2 cents to this topic even though I haven't quite hit 30 yet.
    1. Quit concerning yourself over petty things. This is the main source of teenage drama, but it also happens among people in their early 20s. Distressing over something inconsequential can really detract from a greater goal or a bigger problem. I find that this can be resolved by asking yourself "Will all of this matter 5 days from now? Heck will this matter 5 hours from now?"
    2. Have a variety of hobbies. I'm sure everyone has a favorite thing to do in their spare time, but doing it isn't always possible. It is also easier to get bored from doing the same thing over and over. I enjoy hiking and visiting national parks a lot, but when I am stuck at home I will read a book from my mini-library, or watch anime.
    3. Stay fit and active. Try to get a gym membership, or go for a run a few days a week. Even simple calisthenics at home work. The benefits of staying true to a consistent workout regime will pay off. And don't forget a healthy diet, I find this harder to maintain than getting regular exercise.

      I’m glad this gave you encouragement! Real estate definitely seems like a “people” business. I would imagine that if you’re naturally good with people, you have the potential to succeed, depending on what market you’re in. Would you be keeping your current job and do real estate school at the same time and then quit your current job once you’re licensed? That’s exciting!!

    At 24, I was diagnosed with ptsd, had SEVERAL spiritual awakenings, and traumatized by cults and getting shot at while being discriminated against. I’m 28 now, life has changed in SO many ways as I approach my 30s, growing up being able to drink, get tattoos, buy a car 🚙 and house 🏠 was the go to thing. Now people are more concerned about technology, iPhones 📱, iPads, etc. they rarely have wild parties anymore and technology has caused everyone to think differently. By the time you hit your late 20s to early 30s, yes you are grateful for your parents but you think about that differently too. Some of us might think 🤔 that we were raised wrong or right. By the time I was 24, I started to question the “friends” I had, they went from being nice and caring, to inconsiderate, angry jerks who faked being nice to me (some of them were cult members). I realized, I need blame to balance out the victories, I also learned you will never fully be good or fully be bad. All in all we don’t know how to live life always.

    Steph sensible advice and what did you studied at uni? It is so ridiculous the cost of tertiary education in the States compared to Australia where I am from. As well the medical expenses are astronomical that it beggars belief you are living in supposedly the richest country in the world. First world name but third world standards. So sad. Stay safe and hope to see you shoot more wonderful videos in the future.
