Typical male lion fight behavior. The dominant male of the area will retreat into the heart of his territory when surprised and confronted by a big male. It's a survival/fighting strategy, fight on your own terms when you have the upper hand. Although I think the N. Was not expecting this from Nhenha, he was/is the absolute dominant among the coalition even before the disappearance of Mfomu. The Mohawk was not even charging, he was observing Nhenha from a long distance and Nhenha to the lady: SEE YOU NEXT TIME :D
Mohawk had the upper hand as he suprised Nhenha, Nhenha didn't know what is happening or how many males are there so he fleed, smart move by him, on the other hand risky but brave move by Mohawk.. Also we dont know full story, Blondie was prob very close by as they where both seen together at MalaMala Camp, which is few hundred meters to where this happened.. Being dominant between your brothers and in a fight with hostile male is 2 different things, for example Blondie always dominates Mohawk also, but we do know that Mohawk is far more fierce and agressive.. Same goes for Nhenha, he is very powerful and can dominate his brothers, but guys like Tinyo, Scrapper, Mfumo where far more fierce and agressive.. And its not like Nhenha is afraid of fight, he chased both of N. Avocas last year, also many young males recently.. He just in this situation did chose to fight, its very rare that in takeover scenarios lions fight immidiately, usually there are few weeks of chasing back and forth, testing strenght, strategy etc..
@@tr1x243 Nhenha did a smart move from some points of view, but it's move makes/made Avocas more aggressive, confident and the takeover easier. Now the takeover is inevitable and I hope it last for few months for the sake of sub-adults. btw I was hoping for the Nwaswitshaka to move northover but now it is up in the air if northern Avoca choose to takeover CSS.
I feel bad for the three young males forced to get out from the pride too soon. By the looks of them, they are way too inexperience to hunt and fend for themselves.
Not long ago it was Tinyo who chased the Northern Avocas away not Nhenha. Nhenha may be the dominant one between the two brothers but when it comes to territorial fights it is always Tinyo who shows the aggression and choose to fight. At this moment Mohawk is in best physical shape and not to mention his aggressive nature he just went straight after Nhenha. I wonder why Nhenha chosed to flee as it was his territory and also there were cubs and sub adults around.
Because Nhenha was suprised, he was mating.. Nhenha has no info of Mohawk is there alone or not.. Also risky nove by Mohawk, he was gambling that Nhenha is alone, if Tinyo was also there he would be in big trouble..
@@tr1x243 but this shows that Mohawk is very confident and may be he want to take on the Bboys for a takeover as nowadays he is constantly pushing further south.
This was bound to happen... With the Kambula pride being split over the last few months, and mating with different males has peaked their interest. I mean they've been seen with the Avocas, Othawa, and Nwaswitshaka males. The Birmingham males are starting to feel the pressure from all sides.
yea it was only a matter of time, as the Avocas were entering in and out of Birmingham territory for months now and mating with atleast 2 kambula females a few months back, and their nearing the end of their prime years as they turned 11 this year as he Avocas are primed and young.
For the moment there is no take over !! Come on the BBoys🦁🔥, show them that this is your territory! On the other hand, Tinyo and Nhenha must stay together .... there are a lot of young Lions to protect, not want to see a bloodbath. Is it the Infertile Lioness looking for Mohawk again? The Northern Avocas should be careful, by dint of running after all the females in the area, it may cause them problems ...
I agree! Hope you don't mind sab brah, I am having problems posting my comment it keeps disappearing bloody YT. It is more important to out-think your enemy than to out-fight him! The Bboys have played this game several times before👆both coalitions now playing with the double-edged sword of ambition & self-preservation. He will win who knows when to fight & when not to fight! A failed 'unprepared' takeover, by Mohawk (8- 9 yrs?) Regardless of whether Elephants were in the way if that was Mr.T & my Shaka⚔️ they would've knocked off a couple along the way & the rest.....ha ha 😅all over red rover!! We'll have to watch who will be victors in the final battle of cunning & fortune. Thank you👊MalaMala
Luckily, there was no blood bath happening. I know it is nature and inevitable in lion society, but I feel very sad to see they are fighting each other and get injured.
The N Avoca male Mohawk was contact calling as he was chasing Nhenha ... Nhenha knew this and that it meant the boy chasing him wasnt alone ... The N Avoca boys better not go too deep in Mala Mala because they lose any kind of environment knowledge and if the Gowrie boys separate them then they will be in trouble. One of them wont make it out.
even if their old enough, the avocas still could do serious damage to these youngsters, their to young to fend off and fight back against the older more dangerous avocas who would kill them

Wow, I'm curious how the Gowrie males will respond after the strategic retreat.
That Avoca male meant business. It was moving with so much intention
He was...
Northern Avocas will be close to the southern brothers!
The S.Avocas are still far south from where N.Avocas are and they wouldnt want to risk contact with the Nwaswishaka coalition
Come on Gowries show them who is BOSS of the best place in KNP! Thanks MalaMala!
Oh boy. I honestly hate seeing Lions fight to the death. I cry. It's definitely not for the faint-hearted.
I know... But it's nature!
The mapogo's were the true kings
@sherrie Baby agree with you. The best lions ever.
never again will the world most likely see another coalition like that, maybe even if there was 7 or more brothers in a coalition.
The mapogos had sex with their daughters, killed their relatives offspring and ate other lions though !!!!!!!
They were really sick bastards ! Good fighters but not right in the head !
@@dantheman3022 All lions do like this because they are animals. Mapogos were true kings brave and Ruthless. Never defeated in their prime never defeated 1x1 Never defeated as a coalition. Makhulu killed Limper at age of 13 these were the signs of true lions. Never were never will be
Ever best lions coalition in history.
@@dantheman3022 That's what animals do..
Love the footage but the rangers with their jeeps seem intrusive
@@worldofsecrets6847 nothing is decided yet..
I feel bad for the three young males forced to get out from the pride too soon. By the looks of them, they are way too inexperience to hunt and fend for themselves.
send them cash so they can rent a good apartment for them

Mohawk, the grampy
Chella, Amber, and Ridgenose won this war💪🏻🌪️ as usual
Well I hope the title of your next video is “The ‘Emperor’ Strikes Back”.
No 🤣, Nhenha chased both N Avocas a few months ago, not Tinyo
Because Nhenha was suprised, he was mating.. Nhenha has no info of Mohawk is there alone or not.. Also risky nove by Mohawk, he was gambling that Nhenha is alone, if Tinyo was also there he would be in big trouble..
@@tr1x243 but this shows that Mohawk is very confident and may be he want to take on the Bboys for a takeover as nowadays he is constantly pushing further south.
@@ldarkllrevanl181 nhena also run from blondie/mohawk on a hippo carcass in londolozi.
@@user-oc5ke5qr8n Exactly.
Those three brothers will make a nice coloration one of these days if they sirvive
Testing each other out for weaknesses but I don't see any takeover happening soon.
Cute lions and lioness
This was bound to happen... With the Kambula pride being split over the last few months, and mating with different males has peaked their interest. I mean they've been seen with the Avocas, Othawa, and Nwaswitshaka males. The Birmingham males are starting to feel the pressure from all sides.
yea it was only a matter of time, as the Avocas were entering in and out of Birmingham territory for months now and mating with atleast 2 kambula females a few months back, and their nearing the end of their prime years as they turned 11 this year as he Avocas are primed and young.
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!! Come on gurl back that thang 🤪 up. I can keep it up for days.
Day & knight, night n Day, 👁even HUMP on holidays 😀
Fascinating video, lion politics at its greatest.
Poor youngsters running away scared 😢.
Serious roar!
Those elephants were yelling at you !

I know it is nature and inevitable in lion society, but I feel very sad to see they are fighting each other and get injured.
me too!
Very nice professional type of videography. Please let me know camera and lens details for video 👌👌
Maybe u can do a story on the three brothers wow that will be a good one u know and give them names everyone likes names
They have

The N Avoca male Mohawk was contact calling as he was chasing Nhenha ... Nhenha knew this and that it meant the boy chasing him wasnt alone ... The N Avoca boys better not go too deep in Mala Mala because they lose any kind of environment knowledge and if the Gowrie boys separate them then they will be in trouble. One of them wont make it out.
I hope more from nhenha. Only mohawk was there.
She like, "Get off me muffugga!" He like, "Aww c'mon baby...I got some zebra over here, you want some? " She like, "Where...?!"
at least those youngsters are old enough
even if their old enough, the avocas still could do serious damage to these youngsters, their to young to fend off and fight back against the older more dangerous avocas who would kill them
