Hows the ground clearance in it ? Plz i really need to know as im going to sell my CHR 2019 and buy this insight the one im looking at says 2018 mf is that possible ? And the front shell got lots of chrome lines than black
my dad bought an insight back in 2019 brand new, it now has 190k original everything (other than spark plugs, oil, and tires). brakes stop on a dime and the car has never failed us once. if you're interested in buying one i would recommend buying it outright... at the end of the finance with honda this car's sticker for us will be 55k...... worth it
Got the 2021 model a month ago and its awesome! Added features? It now has the rear cross alert and blind spot monitoring in addition to the already packed standard Honda Sensing package. This car has full of tech, quiet cabin, smooth ride comfort and my gas milaege is AMAZING. Couldnt be happier with this car. Did I say its awesome? Thanks Honda! 😁
I have had this car for almost 4 years. Amazing ride. The gas mileage is amazing but does lack a bit during the coldest months. The most I have gotten was 60 mpg in the summer. The worst is in winter months I will avg between 42-46 which is still better than some cars out there. No regrets on this ride whatsovever.
I've had my 2019 Touring for about 3 weeks and I am so in love with this car! Love the power seats!!!! I wish they had the turn camera for the left too. I have loved having the extra visual assistance. This is an amazing car!
I live in San Diego with a 2013 Honda Accord EXL and the camera on the passenger mirror is phenomenal in heavy freeway 4-5 lane traffic!!! I'm glad to see it actually exist in new vehicles! I absolutely hate a dot light appearing on my mirror to tell me that a car is next to me. The camera mirror is so much better!!!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
HondaPro Jason always comes through with the unique details that no one else can share like battery location on this new Insight! Keep it up i love your channel!!!
Best car we have ever had! Averaging 65 around town. Use the engine braking pedals on the steering wheel to extend the battery range through charging during your deceleration
If it gets 50 MPG in the City, then its going to be one awesome Hybrid. I have one of the older Insights and I loved it. So this is a major upgrade on Insight!
It's a great car. I've actually gotten gas mileage in the 60s and 70s when it's warm, but when it's cold, you have to make sure the battery is charged when go to park to get MPG above 45. Sport mode is a rush when you have a charged battery. Acceleration feels like it can get away from you and it actually can in sport mode if you're an inexperienced driver. Again, great car, fully worth the $27,000 I paid for the EX.
I lamented it when Honda got rid of the Civic Hybrid, so I'm super happy to see a Civic-sized hybrid back on Honda's lineup. The U.S. might be going crazy for crossovers, but I'm all about the sedan.
Most people (including myself) hate the lane watch camera. I like the traditional one where you get an indicator instead of my infotainment system changing screens to the right hand camera. They need to change that.
I love everything about that car, except the placement of the rear turn signals and the hybrid badges, I have a 2017 Honda Civic ex and I really think that they are quite similar, I love it
5 Star Gem. Had one for 6 years and no issues. Great mileage you can get 70mpg ( if you baby the gage) 50 MPG Avg easy, 40 MPG in sport mode and it rocks. Easy 400-500 mi. range per tank. No shifting 1-200. The Electric motor is wow. Best car i have ever owned. 5 star crash. Not Great in snow, is the only down side, its very low to the ground.. Get a spare included in your deal...
My 2nd gen Insight is suppossed to be 42mpg combined. I actually average 48.3 with the ECON button. I'm thinking 60mpg for this one is quite realistic.
THANKS HONDA PRO, I OWN A 2010 EX WITH 230000 MILES WITH NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY HAPPY!!! I AM QUITE USED TO THE WAY MY 2010 DRIVES, I JUST HOPE THE NEW MODEL IS NOT TO DIFFERENT IN DRIVE ASPECTS!!! LOOKING FORWARD TO A TEST DRIVE!!!!
So tell me exactly how does the battery work , ? Do you have to plug it in to charge it up ? If so how long do you have to leave it plugged into charger for ? And how long does a charge last ? How long does the battery last ?
Because of this convenient “charge while driving” ability, the 2019 Honda Insight does not have to be plugged in. The motor generates all the electric power needed to charge.
I'm female and don't know too much about cars and love this vidoe and I'm buying this car! I'm shopping now for it. I wonder if I wait till 2019 after Christmas would the price be lower?
Help me be more "in the know!" I literally bought a 19AccordH today. Question on regen paddle breaks. Sport mode holds regeneration setting for the length of your drive, but eco reverts back when you hit the gas....Is it configurable like my parking break, walk away setting etc? Or do you just have to hit the paddles each time in eco but not sport? Thanks in advance!!! I've learned a lot about Honda and liked the factory tour, very cool.
@@HondaProJason I should have known you'd already be on top of it LOL thanks! Fingers crossed they can add it! Maybe enter a code like the parking break but on the left paddle - set lowest regeneration - hold paddle again for 10 secs etc. Take care!
It recharges using regenerative braking, and also, with a gas fueled generator. Down the hill you don’t need to watch your speed or wasting your brake pads, just use the paddles on the steering wheel and the car will be sort of breaking, not using the brake pads though, but charging your battery at the same time. I drove at 72 mph on EV with no problem. It just doesn’t last for too long. I truly love this car. If you don’t see it too much on the streets, it’s because for some reason Honda doesn’t advertise it at all. Weird
Been a year with mine, went with the 2021 EX and average around 48-52 mpg with 70% fwy driving on my daily commute. Filling up around 50 mile range is around $40 every 3 to 4 weeks in california during FJB gas prices, not too bad.
Accord layout interior to dash and all the tech is way better in my opinion. Looks like they just put the buttons as if they didn’t care. I have the 2018 Sport and love it.
@HondaPro Jason - That's nice. Can owners install apps on the Head Unit? Or, is Honda is still restricting owners from installing apps on the Head Unit?
My 2010 Honda Insight easily gets 700 Km on one tank of 40L with winter tires in low winter temperature. With low roll resistance tires in summer, it will get 25% more mileage. Since it slow down by recapturing energy through the motor before engaging the brake system, I just changed my first set of brake pad after 250K km.
Now, all they need to do is make a plug-in version! What is to me, a true hybrid of ev & gas cars. For now then, the Prius Prime will still be my preference in my next choice of car.
Do you know how much would it be to replace the battery pack? I like to keep my car for as long as possible, and want to consider the price of battery replacement even if it is 8-10 years down the line.
When Jason was tapping on that panel it looked pretty flimsy. So im sure it will remove pretty easily. either way german manufactures have been putting batteries in trunks for years. I am a bmw and honda man. Every BMW that i have owned, the battery was 10+ years old before it needed replaced. I attribute this to the battery being sheltered from the elements moreso than a battery under the hood. Therefore the battery would be the last thing I was worried about on this car.
Hello jason is this model coming to whole world?just like civic?i'm excited about this new model im gonna wait until insight is release in Malaysia before buying new car
in 2019 they should come up with a plug in hybrid instead of just hybrid. I am so sad for a great model with old technology. Honda love your car but I still have to wait.
What about parking sensors? I am a bit confused because none of the videos or descriptions mention them, yet when I read the full spec, they are listed under "Accessories". So does it have it or is there a mistake in the accessories listing in the spec I read?
Does the Insight have any supplementary heating in the HVAC like the China market Civic (electric element) or the Prius (coolant loop in the exhaust stream)? Also, I hope the walk-away locking system is better than the one in the Civic which works 50% of the time.
I'm easily beating the City estimate with my Touring. High speed on the freeway (75 to 80 mph) nets mileage in the low 40s. Cheaper to drive then my VW diesel thanks to the cost of the fuel itself.
Hello Jason. if I remote start the Honda Insight 2020 in advance so it is cool when I enter, will the engine run when the Air-conditioner is running? or the AC runs on battery?
Why am I averaging 40mpg instead of 52? I drive with Econ on all the time and I am not a reckless driver. I use A/C at room temperature with 1-2 bars. What’s going on here?
Vtec Tan I have driven an Accord since 2011 likely won't get another with this thing out. But who knows the accord is still bigger so will have to drive both
Vtec Tan, I doubt potential 2018 Accord buyers are waiting for the 2019 Insight. I think it's internal competition from the Civic, CR-V, etc., and external competition from Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, and GM.
I'm on my third Accord, and while I do think the new Insight is pretty compelling, there is a pretty big difference in size. I can easily fit my bike in the Accord's trunk, pushing it through the fold-down seat opening if I take the front wheel off. I can hide the entire bike in the trunk if I take both tires off (which only takes about a minute). The insight trunk looks quite a bit smaller, so that could be a deal-breaker. I'll find out this summer!

I don't know how Acura will survive with hondas like this, it's incredible.
AWD people up north need it
AWD and memory seats 😂😭
@@YoLikeRyder Unless 1 person is driving the car, I don't see the purpose of the 2 memory seat.
This is what the new accord should have looked like especially the back end for sure.
SUBTRACT hell yeah
100% agree
Thinking the same way.
i agree they would have put this rear on the accord and it would have been perfect inside and out
Is this guy Olympic skater Scott Hamilton ?
Im a prius guy. i love prius. with that being said, i have a feeling that my next car will be an insight.
I am a robot operator at the Greensburg Indiana plant. It's great to see one of our cars reviewed. Glad you like it!

I sat in it on Friday and I’ll have to say the interior is as large as the accord good job Honda I can see myself owning this car 👍🏼👍🏼
Great job, Honda! This will be my NEXT sedan for sure....

Happy I was there to help you out with the filming, great job as usual Jason!!
How's the Type "R" these days? Haven't seen any new Vlogs lately ..... *sniff* ;)
I love it. I want this to be my first NEW car. Currently saving up and building my credit for a new car. I think this is what I’ll get.
If it gets 50 MPG in the City, then its going to be one awesome Hybrid. I have one of the older Insights and I loved it. So this is a major upgrade on Insight!
I love all your reviews Jason, thank you for being so thorough with everything and going into all the specs of the car.
I picked up one of these about a month ago, the EX trim. Love it! I came out of a 10th gen Civic EX-T and I feel this was a great upgrade!
Love it! And the rear end looks so much better than the civic! I wish they offered this with a 6 speed manual!
One thing with you...i click like button before cuz i know im not disapointed ...good reviews!!🇯🇵👌

Toyota had done this in Prius like eons ago!! Shaking my head.
Great video man
Also how many keys do they give? The dealer gave only one key

This might be the car that replaces our 14 Accord! I prefer it to the 18 Accord on so many levels.
Funny I have a '14 accord that just got paid off, and I was thinking the same thing!
Can the sunroof open?
can't you pop those center caps out and re adjust them how you like anyway?
Im seeing a pattern with the Insight. They're getting bigger with every generation, with the size going between the main models.
There needs to be more Hybrid Acuras ASAP. I'm thinking my new car will be an Insight or an RDX.

But looks wayyyyyy better then the previous insights

so how do you replace 12V battery? $300 at dealer?
I guess that's what they want you to do... Me ill just rip off that panel and get to it (TY HPJ i didn't know the 12v batt was in there)
Same way you'd replace any other battery, I would assume.
very good point
Do you know if the Insight will have the head-up display like the new Accord?
