  • Today we are visiting our first street market in the Philippines, the Makati Salcedo Weekend Market! We explore around the Makati street market and find some delicious foods to eat like a super cheap and amazing $0.40 fried banana (banana cue) that we are trying for the first time ever! So basically this video is foreigners going to a filipino street market for the first time and americans try banana cue for the first time all in one video! We also try some fresh fruit juices from the market and get some fresh jackfruit which we have never had outside of halo halo! We got to the market late so we will have to visit more street markets and night markets in our upcoming philippines travel vlogs! More coming soon! Let us know what other Filipino street foods we should try next!!

Hey guys. I've been watching your vlogs lately. You guys are hilarious. I love it it. There are 2 weekend markets in Makati. This one is every Saturday. The other one is during Sundays but on a different neighborhood but same vendors. It's called Legazpi Sunday Market. I'm glad you love Makati. It's my neck of the woods. Much more local than BGC. :)

I hail from Iloilo City. Our banana-q is quite different. The plantain is deep-fried, sprinkled with brown sugar until it caramelizes to coat the banana completely. Before it is skewered, it is sprinkled with sesame seeds. An alternative to plantain is sweet potato.
