This has literally been happening for over a decade, but Lundqvist's teammates had more heart and they were all classy rather than soft and dirty at the same time I wish they will finally admit that they were wrong to abandon the rebuild in 2021 and they are dumb for trying to make a goalie carry an average to AHL level team once again
As a Rangers fan I am so done with this team. We can blame Lavi all we want but its really not him, its this core. They did the same thing to Gallant that they're doing to Lavi now, they play great his 1st year behind the bench and then they lose 1 game and they stop believing in his system and what he's coaching. Its complete bullshit, time to rebuild.
I've been done with them since 2021 for abandoning the rebuild and betraying Buchnevich They already should have done it from 2016 after the Penguins destroyed them and then maybe if they were lucky, be truly done in 2023 Gallant was at the very least, one year ahead of schedule, making them go on a fluke run that set them back more, and management couldn't see that Tampa, a dynasty team, put them in their place They could have attempted to salvage any sort of development by promoting Knoblauch but no Drury needs to be fired and Dolan should learn to never touch the Rangers ever again because his obsession with playoff tickets over lottery picks jerseys sales set the team back years and I wish I wasn't one of the only fans to see this would happen It wasn't just Sather, the organization is rotten, and more Rangers fans should be disgusted with the way they treated John Davidson, and admit that Trouba is dirty and sets a bad example for team culture
@dmonsef I agree with that cuz Lavi hasn't lasted to long in his other places. He a tremondous coach tho when his players actually listen to him, he took 2 wild card teams to the stanley cup Final and won one. Fire Lavi if we have to but Drury better make sure we hire the right HC.
Blues have a sleeper decent roster. Bannister is an AHL coach who was never really meant to be an NHL head coach but just outstayed his interim welcome. With a real coach now, the Blues are probably a playoff team
Been saying it for years now, Drury has got to go. Easy team to play against except for Cuylle. No bite whatsoever. One guy in the top 9 plays with any kind of purpose. The rest are almost unwatchable at this point. Shesterkin probably counting the days until he can take his talents elsewhere.
Saw the Oilers game as an Oilers fan. NYR played as though defence was just something that other teams played. They let the likes of McDavid and Draisaitl have some absolute grade-A scoring chances.
They had their window, they failed to make improvements where needed, failed to get rid of players who were never going to lead this team to that next level & now we're seeing the end-results. It is what it is. 🤷♂️
Just wait until Drury gives out his next big contract to K'Andre "Mishandle" Miller. You can't even count anymore how many times he fumbles the puck, overskates it, misfires on a pass or just turns it over. He is forward playing D, nothing more. Should have moved this shiny object 2-3 years ago and targeted a real top D-man to play with Fox. In turn that would've let Lindgren drop down to a more appropriate role and maybe he wouldn't be mince meat by the time he's 26.
Blackhawks and Rangers fan here but last night was the most predictable win for the Blues. New coach will jump start those players that have something to prove to remain on roster. Fully expected the Rangers to lose last night.
Devils fan here, so I'm biased, but this stretch for the Rangers feels like it's been coming for a long time; they're a team designed to crush middling teams via great goaltending, strong power play, and top-level talent on the first line and D pair, but they then go against playoff teams and get utterly caved in on possession, chance/shot creation, overall roster depth, etc. However, they've had a couple deep playoff runs mostly on the strength of Igor, the power play, and some luck (e.g. Caps being frauds last year, Pens missing their top two goalies a few years back); but they aren't up to the task against the top-level contenders. Basically, if one aspect of that three-part system for the Rangers isn't in order the whole house risks collapse. They've been a good team pretending to be a great one, and can't afford Igor to look mortal or for the top line to underproduce. So far they're still stomping crappy teams, but for the moment they look even weaker against the really good teams than they usually do.
That was kind of the point of the video though, that the record is deceptive. Basically they have had a baby soft schedule against a lot of bad teams and that's why their record looks like that. If you actually look at their record against good teams that are currently in a playoff spot, they have lost six of those seven games. That's horrible.. When you're basically only beating bad teams and getting absolutely stomped by actual good teams. I do get what you're saying though, that regardless of the circumstances it is still a nice record.
They are expecting Shesterkin to steal every game for them. Laviolette has a short shelf life with every team he coaches. I might add his only Cup win was with a Carolina team that was stacked and during the clutch n grab era. He overall does not do well with younger players. You compare the Rangers with the Devils, the Devils have already surpassed the Rangers in a shorter time period, from being bad team to a top team.
Florida's 1 win in their last 7 games and slipping into a negative goal differential for the season after tonight puts them in the conversation for biggest frauds, too.
Is it bad that as a Devils fan I'm kind of proud of that? Florida was on a seven-game win streak I believe it was where in that seven games they didn't score less than four goals in any game. Then they played The Devils at home twice in back-to-back games.. The Devils absolutely dominated them both games and they only had three goals in both of the games after scoring no less than four goals in each of the previous seven. It is seriously like the Devils broke Florida and they have been a different team since those two losses. I have a lot of respect for Florida, but as a Devils fan I'm kind of proud that my team is mean and tough enough and good enough this year that they could do that to the defending Cup champs.. And it legitimately seems like they psychologically damaged them. Florida was right up there with all of the best of the best teams when they were on that seven game win streak until the Devils knocked them off the hill. They haven't been the same since. Don't mean to come across as a jerk.. Even as a Devils fan I would still say Florida is the better team regardless of the bad streak they are going through right now. It's just as a Devils fan, we haven't had much to cheer about for the last decade or two lol. It's different to actually feel so much pride for my team and how they are doing this year. Lot of respect for Florida and I'm sure they will shake It off and get back to their winning ways. They are an absolutely dominant team. Just really proud of my Devils is all lol.
@@EckHockey I think it's the opposite. When you're facing the defending Stanley Cup champions, you expect a much tougher opponent than what Florida has been this season. Being the Stanley Cup champions gives you more of a responsibility to play like a playoff team and not have a negative goal differential a quarter of the way through the season.
The ONLY reason this team has a winning record is because of Igor. He has stolen games. The rest of the team just doesn't look completely present. Anyone who legitimately thinks this team is a cup contender is absolutely delusional. They'll get eaten alive in the playoffs unless they make some moves.
Eeerr… Quick stole quite a few games with shut-outs. I wish fans watched the games, took a wide perspective of things and accept that Igor is not the saviour. He is in fact ”GreedGor” asking for a contract that will drag the team down more than Ziba’s contract. Agree that this team will get mauled come play-offs, if they even make it there. This rut is different. Team is in dissarray.
It's crazy because even a flawed team in 2015-16 that should've been rebuilding gave a shit. Girardi-Staal had heart. It may have been the heart of someone who ate 300 lbs of fast food a day, but it was there.
It’s an 82 game season. However, the Rangers need to fix the Defense. They give up way too many chances and rely on elite goaltending to bail them out. That has to stop. Trouba and Lindgren have regressed completely and need to go. Zib needs to drop down to third line mins and bump Chytils line up in mins when he returns.
Those 3 early Red Wing games have done a lot to distort the record. I'd trade Mika for a bag of pucks if someone would take him. The group is stale, it certainly needs a move or two but Drury will have a job to work around the NTC's.
Last season a well oiled machine, this season the Keystone Kops. Same flaws game after game, now bad enough for getting us beat by junk teams: Careless line changes. Inexcusable turnovers. Complacency. Allowing 40 - 50 shots. How many Rangers shots have been missing the net entirely? See any candidates for the Norris Trophy? The Selke? Like the Bruins, they are going to get an excellent coach fired.
We thought before the season this was a last chance year for this crew - turned out that was last year. They look awful and the hustle just isn’t there to even keep you rooting through 60 minutes. Time to move a few pieces if you can, give a few players a fresh start, and see if the call-ups can bring some buzz back to MSG, even if it is as underdogs every night.
As a Devils fan this is delightful. Youre the opposite of the Devils, who are beating the Canes, Panthers, and Caps lately. Even better: Kreider and Captain Chickenwing arent going anywhere. I mean, what would you get back for them? LGD
Blues fan. Its the first game with, not just a new coach, but a returning face, a face the team loves. We were gonna win this game regardless. The big knock on bannister was playing people like schenn 20 min a night and guys like holloway less than 10. Tonights game: Schenn 15:17 Holloway 16:02 Bolduc 15:49 Buch 16:51 Thomas 19:12 Kyrou 14:45 Thomas is our 1c so that makes sense, kyrou doesnt really kill penalties so that makes sense. And would you look at that, the rest of them played roughly the same, including bolduc who has been a healthy scratch why? Schenn needs less ice time to be effective (goal and assist), and let the younger guys do their thing. The rest of it sorts itself out. This is the team i thought we could be out of camp, and why i picked them 4th in the division, first wc team. Now lets see if we can put a streak together, without injuries pleaae.
Mika is cooked! I really can’t watch another game where every time he gets the puck our offense dies on his stick, the dude can’t even line up a one timer anymore. He can’t even skate the puck into the ozone and get a shot on net. As a team we could hit the net tonight. It’s sad :(
Hope your slaughter prediction is true! But Blueshirts with their annoying fans (some, not most) always play us tough in Raleigh. And speaking of goalie issues... We have our 3rd string AHL goalie and 1 rookie AHL goalie as a backup. Can't wait to go.
I'm suppose to be a Rangers fan, but I have been mad at this team for abandoning the rebuild in 2021 and betraying Buchnevich They weren't ready to compete at all and get bailed out by a franchise goalie and a terrible Metropolitan Division, and Drury and Dolan couldn't realize that they wasted time going on fluke runs to the conference finals where Tampa and Florida, actual championship teams, severely outclassed them, and delusional fans act like the President's Trophy matters when teams that collapse in the playoffs after winning it get mocked for it (maybe the Maple Leafs have to win it for them to see it doesn't matter the way it did in the 90s)
The Blues have looked like total ass up until this game and I really hope it wasn't just because of the Rangers struggles. I was texting my buddy, jokingly, that they already hit period and game highs in SOGs this season just in the first two periods. I think this was less Jim Montgomery and more the team responding to the Drew's firing, but that was definitely a different Blues team than we've been getting all season. As a fan, I hope it continues, obviously, lol.
Can I just ask wtf the rangers are thinking by putting Kreiders name out in the trade rumors? Kreider???? Over who??? This organization is becoming a joke. Laviolette might need to be fired.
As a Rangers fan who hasn't liked the team for abandoning the rebuild in 2021, Fake Goal Kreider is worth considering trading because he's getting older and though I didn't want playoffs all these years, it's not a good look how he disappeared against the actual teams that should have sent them back to the rebuild, Tampa and Florida
With Kreider and Zib, two of their long term stars look horrible. Trouba - i get it. But none of these contracts is easy to move, so next is to change the coach. A 31 and 33 year old can`t suddenly be done.

Unfair - but that's what teams do (Bruins)
As a blues fan… we’re rough out 4th liners and budget pickups are the stars this year… our big paychecks are ummmm… present at the games
As someone in the Toronto area, I'm relying on the Rangers and Bruins to get their act in gear so that they can defeat the leefs. Cmon guys!!
I've been done with them since 2021 for abandoning the rebuild and betraying Buchnevich
They already should have done it from 2016 after the Penguins destroyed them and then maybe if they were lucky, be truly done in 2023
Gallant was at the very least, one year ahead of schedule, making them go on a fluke run that set them back more, and management couldn't see that Tampa, a dynasty team, put them in their place
They could have attempted to salvage any sort of development by promoting Knoblauch but no
Drury needs to be fired and Dolan should learn to never touch the Rangers ever again because his obsession with playoff tickets over lottery picks jerseys sales set the team back years and I wish I wasn't one of the only fans to see this would happen
It wasn't just Sather, the organization is rotten, and more Rangers fans should be disgusted with the way they treated John Davidson, and admit that Trouba is dirty and sets a bad example for team culture
Your missing something here. Gallant/Lavi are similar coaches in that they don't last long and their coaching message wares out in 3 years.
@dmonsef I agree with that cuz Lavi hasn't lasted to long in his other places. He a tremondous coach tho when his players actually listen to him, he took 2 wild card teams to the stanley cup Final and won one. Fire Lavi if we have to but Drury better make sure we hire the right HC.
nothing makes me happier than watching the rangers fall apart
Love to see the Blues represented on Eck even it's just because they played the Rangers--I'll take what I can get at this point in the season!
Blues have a sleeper decent roster. Bannister is an AHL coach who was never really meant to be an NHL head coach but just outstayed his interim welcome. With a real coach now, the Blues are probably a playoff team
Will Cuylle has been the teams only silver lining
Been saying it for years now, Drury has got to go. Easy team to play against except for Cuylle. No bite whatsoever. One guy in the top 9 plays with any kind of purpose. The rest are almost unwatchable at this point. Shesterkin probably counting the days until he can take his talents elsewhere.
Thank you
Dolan ruined the rebuild
Saw the Oilers game as an Oilers fan. NYR played as though defence was just something that other teams played. They let the likes of McDavid and Draisaitl have some absolute grade-A scoring chances.
What was the point of bringing Rempe up to face St. Louis? Rempe is a goon in training ala Ryan Reaves, save him for rivalry games.
Rempe is an ECHL player at best
They had their window, they failed to make improvements where needed, failed to get rid of players who were never going to lead this team to that next level & now we're seeing the end-results.
It is what it is.
🤷♂️
Before you even think of trading Kreider. Trade trouba and Mika together
They were good last year, mostly. And I saw a pretty good Rangers team in Vancouver not long ago. Is it really that bad?
Just wait until Drury gives out his next big contract to K'Andre "Mishandle" Miller. You can't even count anymore how many times he fumbles the puck, overskates it, misfires on a pass or just turns it over. He is forward playing D, nothing more. Should have moved this shiny object 2-3 years ago and targeted a real top D-man to play with Fox. In turn that would've let Lindgren drop down to a more appropriate role and maybe he wouldn't be mince meat by the time he's 26.
As an avs fan, I feel your pain. Especially after the 2-8 loss last night
8-2 loss* come on man, that’s how a female would say a score
You're talking like the LA Kings don't exist
As a Sens fan I'd love to have that record and be considered frauds
That was kind of the point of the video though, that the record is deceptive. Basically they have had a baby soft schedule against a lot of bad teams and that's why their record looks like that. If you actually look at their record against good teams that are currently in a playoff spot, they have lost six of those seven games. That's horrible.. When you're basically only beating bad teams and getting absolutely stomped by actual good teams.
I do get what you're saying though, that regardless of the circumstances it is still a nice record.
Blues fan here: would take your record today over ours.
Calm down.
real. we should be better. i think Montgomery will help
If you've watched the rangers every game this year you would know that this team is hot garbage. That record won't stand with the current players.
Once you win the cup you have five years before you can get the fraud tag again
Frauds who won the Cup a few months ago lmao wtf are you babbling about. 2 back to back finals
When people say the term “Fraud” has become the most overused word in sports, it's because of shit like this
The ONLY reason this team has a winning record is because of Igor.
@ Yeah, Quick has been good no doubt. I agree with that, but regardless, when your best player is the goalie, you're not going to win the Stanley Cup.
The New York bread man’s also ain’t no way Igor thinks he is worth 88 mill
Igor isn’t the problem and he’s getting paid bro. Idk what you’re yapping about
@ okay don’t be salty because your staring goalie isn’t a demon like Hellebuyck
@@Gojets37who tf said anything about jets bro who cares 💀
igor isnt the problem... thats just a factual statement lmao
This section pretending both their goalies aren't being propped up by great teams is hilarious 😂. ( helle and igor)
@@michaelkane5042 erhhh maybe jets but rangers isnt propping anybody up 💀 (im a rangers fan btw)
You might want to watch the Carolina game. Hurricanes are playing with their 3rd and 4th goalies rn. 1st and 2nd are injured.
They have a mediocre overall record and they played badly last night, and they play badly against good teams. Where is the "fraud" here?
Nope, it’s the flames
Meanwhile Florida who has lost their last 6 out of 7 games played….
It's crazy because even a flawed team in 2015-16 that should've been rebuilding gave a shit.
Girardi-Staal had heart. It may have been the heart of someone who ate 300 lbs of fast food a day, but it was there.
If they didn’t have Shesterkin, it’ll be a lot worse
It’s an 82 game season. However, the Rangers need to fix the Defense. They give up way too many chances and rely on elite goaltending to bail them out. That has to stop. Trouba and Lindgren have regressed completely and need to go. Zib needs to drop down to third line mins and bump Chytils line up in mins when he returns.
I mean as an Edmonton fan I feel the same, every other game lol
Drury is the architect. He needs to go.
They can start by not giving a Rempe a jersey. Like ever.
You Def haven't watching the kings then if you think the rangers are frauds
Those 3 early Red Wing games have done a lot to distort the record. I'd trade Mika for a bag of pucks if someone would take him. The group is stale, it certainly needs a move or two but Drury will have a job to work around the NTC's.
I couldnt help but to watch the game like this 😬. Looked like they've never played hockey like where's the effort??
Igor is the lipstick on the pig. Wait till he leaves at the end of the season. The Rangers are heading for darker days.
I'm hoping to God he will be the final straw that breaks this fluke team's back
Karma for abandoning the rebuild in 2021
Last season a well oiled machine, this season the Keystone Kops.
Same flaws game after game, now bad enough for getting us beat by junk teams:
Careless line changes.
I've been saying this for weeks. They beat sub-500 teams🤥
Nothing has changed since last years roster. How can they expect different results?
As a Devils fan this is delightful. Youre the opposite of the Devils, who are beating the Canes, Panthers, and Caps lately.
Even better: Kreider and Captain Chickenwing arent going anywhere. I mean, what would you get back for them?
LGD
Can the Rangers get back to what worked last year? They looked great.
Blues fan here. No offense taken
Hardly even mentioned the beating the Oilers gave em. That was an entertaining game.
Stacked roster and a good goalie too.
Blues fan. Its the first game with, not just a new coach, but a returning face, a face the team loves. We were gonna win this game regardless. The big knock on bannister was playing people like schenn 20 min a night and guys like holloway less than 10. Tonights game:
Schenn 15:17
Holloway 16:02
Bolduc 15:49
Buch 16:51
Thomas 19:12
Kyrou 14:45
Thomas is our 1c so that makes sense, kyrou doesnt really kill penalties so that makes sense.
As a Red Wings fan, I struggle to have sympathy for Rangers fans. At least the Rangers have a winning record.
Mika is cooked! I really can’t watch another game where every time he gets the puck our offense dies on his stick, the dude can’t even line up a one timer anymore. He can’t even skate the puck into the ozone and get a shot on net. As a team we could hit the net tonight. It’s sad :(
Come on man don’t dump Krieder. The guy has been the Heart and soul of the team for a decade.
Not enough heart in the conference finals (and I say this as someone against them quitting the rebuild)
Hope your slaughter prediction is true! But Blueshirts with their annoying fans (some, not most) always play us tough in Raleigh. And speaking of goalie issues... We have our 3rd string AHL goalie and 1 rookie AHL goalie as a backup. Can't wait to go.
Rangers gonna waste 2 generational goaltenders back to back... pain.
I was waiting for this video. The Rangers have been getting curb stomped
Come on, this is nothing new... they've been overachieving on the back of good goaltending and the power play for years now.
The Rangers Rock!
Sincerely,
"START ME UP!" ~The RoĺlingStones
They only bearly won against the canucks because of how crippled they are.
I'm suppose to be a Rangers fan, but I have been mad at this team for abandoning the rebuild in 2021 and betraying Buchnevich
They weren't ready to compete at all and get bailed out by a franchise goalie and a terrible Metropolitan Division, and Drury and Dolan couldn't realize that they wasted time going on fluke runs to the conference finals where Tampa and Florida, actual championship teams, severely outclassed them, and delusional fans act like the President's Trophy matters when teams that collapse in the playoffs after winning it get mocked for it (maybe the Maple Leafs have to win it for them to see it doesn't matter the way it did in the 90s)
I'm concerned about the Panthers
the 4 against the canucks tho was a canucks team without demko, boeser, or miller
