  • This video focuses on the County of Lincolnshire and its close association with the Royal Air Force.
The video features a number of RAF Stations starting with those that are still 'Operational.' It is not a history of those Stations nor is it a complete listing of Bases but is a brief reminder of the County's important aviation heritage.
Photo Credits: My photographs were taken between 2000 - 2017. I include an image of three De Havilland 'Chipmunk' aircraft flying over Lincoln Cathedral in 1990. Whilst I have an original photograph of this scene, I do not claim ownership and or copyright of said image - I'm guessing that it is an RAF stock image - one of many. No infringement of personal copyright is therefore intended. With thanks to the 'Friends of RAF Spilsby' for the use of a number of period photographs as endorsed on the images concerned.
Music Score: RAF 'March Past' performed by the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. Wistful Harp and Lifting Dreams are from the UA-cam Music Library.

Enjoyed my time at Coningsby though on an Air Defence Squadron, glad to see it’s still operational as of now !

Like Journey Together and Appointment in London, It is right to remember those who gave so much that we now take for granted and especially for those who would wish to take away our right to express our point of view.

Thank you for your comment and point taken regarding RAF Manby. The video was intended as an 'overview' of Lincolnshire Bases and therefore sadly, wouldn't include all Stations that operated in the County during WWII. RAF Leconfield is in Yorkshire (East Riding) and therefore wouldn't feature in this presentation. Thanks for your interest.

Hi and thank you for watching the video. Sadly, RAF North Killingholme and many other 'Bomber County' Airfields weren't featured in this presentation but their contribution to the War effort is equally important. Thank you for mentioning this Station. I wish you well.
