@@xXRealXx Lmao. The ignorance and arrogance of Atheists absolutely baffles me. You should be thanking Christians for they are responsible for creating the foundation all of the technological luxuries that you enjoy so much.

I could spend all day listing the most prestigious scientists and intellectuals who are Christian.
@@virginia7655 Of course they were Christian. If you weren't, you got killed or jailed. Or at the very least, being an atheist was not acceptable socially, so publicly they were "religious", but privately actually not (AKA it was an act to avoid getting bullied). Also, their religion had nothing to do with their intellect. Religion doesn't teach science at all. And I mean real science. Theology is not science. It's pseudo-science at best.
Their religion didn't help them invent things. Religion is anti-science, because science makes you question things. And if you question things, you can't be controlled as easily. Religion has always been about control of the masses. And about power, and about maintaining that power.
Sorry if I come across as mean. It's not my goal to be mean. It's just that I hate seeing people controlled and not live according to their own free will.
@@xXRealXx that's not true. Most of them were PROTESTANT. This means they often died and were burned at the stake for their religion. They proclaimed the glory of God and called Catholicism the Whore of Babylon. See if you had read any history besides that which was fed to you by globalists you might have figured that out.
The great pilgrimage to America was done to escape Catholicism not to avoid a "tea tax".
@@xXRealXx Christianity is not "anti science". God is truth and wisdom. Satan is deception. Your god is "science". A false god that changes every decade to be proven wrong by the next. God will always be truth. You have been deceived by the great deceiver. The serpent that whispers into your ear. And without GOD you have no defenses against satan. He will out wit you and rule over you for you are just a man. Wide is the path to darkness and narrow is the path to light. You think man can survive without God? Look at where we are now. In the age of deception and confusion. Brought on by the whore of Babylon. Repent and accept Christ as your savior before it is too late and you are sent to eternal fire. Just look at what is happening throughout the world. Do you think things are going to go back to normal? Do you think science is going to save you from what is coming?
In my humble opinion, the return to ‘tradition,’ albeit in a new modern way, is a response to the second wave of unchecked futurism in which we live. The world has been turning ever so faster in unprecedented terms and humanity is rather clueless as to where things can go next. The turn to God is an attempt to slow things down and find some form of solace in a chaotic world.
People need to stop mystifying language before they can figure out what their traditions are/were/should be. Chaos is the product of confusion. It's imaginary. Reality is not confused nor is it ever non-understandable. People are stupid. The physical world does exactly what it should all the time without exception.
"Humanity" isn't a singular body. Everyone that isn't me, myself, and I, can currently get bent. I can't afford "humanity."
What has been increasing at at unprecedented rate is 1, the population, 2 the surveillance arms race, 3 institutional Satan worship and government corruption. Where next? Genocide. I could have told you this when I was in middle school. If you represent "humanity" it's no wonder they're all so clueless.
I think there is instead an overlap between censored conservatives and edgy people gathering in the same place

@@lebumjames1373 yes it is. western governments are secular
I think the "neo christian" person you tend to see today is more focused on individual religiousness rather than group bonding. At least it seems so to me. There's a lot less focus on going to church and doing things as a community and a lot more focus on introspective religion. Making your own personal version of god.
Certainly Jordan Peterson is one reason why. That seems to be his view of religion and religious belief.
I can't say if it's good or bad. But it's one of the biggest differences i've seen. It's more individualistic
yes
therefore anti religion
That's the thing: a relationship with God was always supposed to be a personal relationship. It's one reason why Jesus even said to reject religion. Christians are supposed mind their own business and not get involved with politics and other crap. That's why people should have more respect for sects like Jehovah's Witnesses- they never get involved in politics, and don't believe gays will burn in hell (the bible actually says that Jesus talks to people in the next life so that they can get to heaven). The only Christians who believe in hell are Protestants. Catholics don't believe in hell, despite popular misconception.
My fear about Individualistic Religion is that it may develop to be luciferean in nature wherein it puts the individual before god.
God is the abstract melded representation of the highest value. The individual and the self are not it. If you value the self before God, then the potential for the most important things like relationships and self-sacrifice fall apart.
It is why Luciferean Individualism has resulted in a generation of mentally ill loners who have no attachment to any societal foundation outside technology.

I think thats a good quote about "mainstream" and "underdog" or "rebellion" things
I can see why this is happening.
With all that "redpilling" that has happened in the recent years, very voraginous years if you ask me, more people of my age are starting to adopt tradition and conservatism as the counter-culture, where many things have in some ways "degraded", or lead to degradation of morals and the worth of people.
Back in my youth (like 6 or 7 years ago) i was full atheist, imagine the most cringiest atheist teenager you could. Today, after maturing and seeing many things, my world view has shifted. Still not a Christian/Catholic, yet, many things have started to make sense in my perspective regarding what the bible says.

I hope so. I hear "Gen Z' are a lot more well rounded people and I guess after watching bad ideas fail in the last generation, like mounds of student debt with no prospects.. that's probably a lesson. But I welcome it. Right now many are at a loss and there's something to say about having faith and finding your purpose in life. I grew up in a home that respected God, but I really didn't take any of it seriously until I got to be 30 and did some soul searching. My grand mother told me to take a walk in the woods and so I did and I looked around and I studied nature. Ironically it was that same walk that brought me in to libertarian leanings. I didn't have a clue what that was but I started thinking about nature's God and how men are born free.. thus open source software is just a natural choice to me. But that idea has kind of stuck with me ever since. I never bought the idea man evolved out of a pile of mud, sure I don't know it any better then the people who think that they do.. I have faith that there's a higher power then myself at play. It's encouraging to me that others find that now "cool".
How is man evolving from "a pile of mud" any more unlikely than a omniscient deity existing from... What? Eternity? It had to come from somewhere.
Science and god are not mutually exclusive, though there is some flaw in the predominantly accepted science.
@@CarrotConsumer I was very clear with this fact... we don't honestly know. There's no evidence that says either or even both are true, I juat don't personally believe we did and another point to add since you asked most who have faith also believe that life is sacred as well. People who buy the whole puddle of mud stuff tend to have a lesser respect for life. Think abortion. Note tend. That means if they took a survey most people of faith tend to respect life then people who are not of. Since you asked a question that was answered in my writting, I made sure to clarify that last point.
@@tylerdean980 I second that. It's just a reminder that we don't know. But when I look at the beauty, and the complexity of the human being and our natural environment I am convinced that this wasn't some kind of accident. Look I am open enough to say I could be wrong. In fact I probably am because I've looked for things that confirm my thoughts, it's human nature after all. But knowing these flaws I have also looked for ways to unconfirm it as well. I am open to science in another words. It's just like I don't take the bible on it's every word, but a series of observations and a guide to faith and in the end here that's all I really have. Just faith.
While I'm not sure about the whole being born out of the dirt part, if you look at it from the grand picture, evolution says single cells organisms just started existing in the chemical soup of the oceans. So there is some truth to it. Even the very beginning it's "In the beginning": The current theory is the big bang theory of the universe indicating there was a beginning. Many correlations but we can't possibly know everything, our minds weren't made to understand everything around us.

Nope. I know more Christians who no longer believe than do. In fact nonbelievers are the fastest rise group. They went to Bible school and everything. They just got disillusioned but still observe holidays. I also know a few that rabidly hate christianity and blame their bad educationn and lack of job prospects.
These former christians turned atheists I know are typically from the south that went to a private bible school but when they grew up and moved to a big city they couldnt get a job or into college. So they self taught themselves science and programming and engineering. Those are the ones that hate christianity the most.
Still believe but I don't trust the church and I'm still revaluating convictions and views over things as I find my way through this world
@Viper God isnt your buddy. Just like your Dad isnt your buddy. Your Mom isnt your buddy. Your wife or child arent your buddies. Relationships matter. And to call God "a buddy" or "a cool dude" shows how immature you are. You show greatly how you misjudge and disrespect our relationship with Almighty God. Most Christians I know would find what you just said very offensive. You are proclaiming a false version of God, a version you find palatable. You are blaspheming, creating a false idol. God is supposed to feared and obeyed and worshiped. God is not your "buddy". He is not your "chum" your "pal" or your "bro", a "cool dude". He is Almighty God. Obey His Command.
The is nothing wrong with not believing. That fact that one doesnt believe doesnt change the fact that God is real. It doesnt matter if everyone except you decides to not believe. The truth will always be true. The only reason you should want to believe then is if you want to follow a righteous path. Not to receive God's favor, not to curry friendship. But to be righteous...which is: to obey God without question.
Believers who believe but disobey God will earn His Wrath more than those who don't believe but yet follow Him. This is the story of Adam, of Noah, and of Jesus. Nonbelievers may have lost faith, may have doubts, may have temptations, but they also have free will to obey or disobey God. Think whatever you think, but always Obey God. Nonbelievers, like the prodigal son, they will return. Remember, all paths lead to God, some paths just take longer.

Im a Christian (Presbyterian, non-progressive). The Fundamentalists are pure cringe. Theologically, they unironically worship the devil by being so terrified of him, and acting as though he is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient (he's NOT, those are attributes belonging only to God). Too, according to the bible, the government isnt even supposed to be involved in marriage to begin with. It's supposed to be a covenant between a man, a woman, and God. So it doesnt make any sense to oppose the legalization of gay marriage, if we dont care about regular marriage being regulated. If gay folks want even more unjustified government intervention in their lives, then it's their choice. They will regret it eventually though, especially once they see how much legal divorces cost.
That was my same conclusion with gay marriage the government should have no involvement or say in who is and isn't married aside from census or tax purposes

I noticed this started around 2019, where a bunch of zoomers on the app were starting to get very evangelical, making a bunch of christian memes and gifcaptions. Now I do have some suspicion that a lot of them are just larps, but some of them I know are serious. I think what happened was that, because we zoomers grew up in a world where progressivism is the mainstream, the opposite of that (which is extreme traditionalism) is now the "cool" and "rebellious" movement. I know this because a lot of these christian memes I mentioned earlier are very, well, edgy! A combination which no one could've ever seen coming, combining christianity with edgy humor! How are they edgy? Well they're making memes about how gay people or mixed race couples or anything else that traditionalists are against will burn in hell when they die. My my, what a small world this is. Your comment (and this videos topic in general) reminded me of a punk style Orthodox Christian Zine from the 90s called “Death to the World.” While it isn’t edgy in the modern sense, it is counter-cultural, and i think it holds up well. They’re still publishing today i think, and while i don’t know if they’re popular among the current youth, its aesthetic mixture of Orthodox art, macabre imagery, and notions of rebellion against the secular/physical world is an impressive feat that would lend well to this current religious revival.
Religion is having a comeback (none of us deny that), but it makes me wonder: was America ever really irreligious? All my life American religious zeal has been synonymous with patriotism. I think Religiosity isn’t really increasing, but rather it’s become more vocal as politics has become more spectacular. And since religiosity hasn’t really decreased, its constant presence means that religion has been molded to adapt to the modern world. The number of progressive churches with openly gay members are numerous around where i live in the Southern U.S. Anyway, just my two cents.

It's not to a point where it could be described as commonplace, but just a few years ago you'd probably be hard pressed to find more than a handful of self-described Christian teenagers. There's a couple factors I could see contributing such as Kanye preaching about his newfound faith and viral "cottage-core" pseudo-traditionalism. The primary signal, in my opinion, was the 2016 election and a shift in power to the right-wing sociocultural faction of US politics.
The rhetoric and results of this shift essentially caused centrist or more moderate right-wingers to become culturally homeless, and as a result the 50% of the country identifying as "conservative" was now dominated by more radical right-wing voices, many of whom also overlapped with the devout Christian demographic. You can see this on Twitter (perhaps not the best medium for sociology, but oh well) where the trending "tradcath" demographic - most of whom are late teens/early 20s and take a very hardline stance on Christianity/traditionalism - and the far right-wing demographic are essentially one and the same.
With the results of the 2020 election, I expect this trend to probably continue. The 2016 election itself was a response to things like economic downturn affecting the working class, the Opioid Crisis, unpopular foreign policy, etc., and all of those are just as present as they were several years ago. If anything, the coming administration and domination of culture by liberal media will help Christian revival more than anything, as younger people will see it as a form of counterculture and rebellion.
3 years later this is looking pretty solid generally. (Minor disagreements on a couple descriptors aside)
As a non-believer in any religion I still appreciate teachings from the Bible as well as other religious texts. I enjoyed watching Jordan Peterson's interpretations of different parts of the Bible as well.
I find myself liking Christianity until I meet Christians in my day-to-day life. They operate on a premise which to me is at best, not evidently true, which is the claim that the Bible is from the creator of the universe and has a son called Jesus.
Such claims subvert honest inquiry due to the fact that the conclusion is always predetermined. In every case, whenever god apparently makes some pronouncement it is always relayed to you by some other human being, which is suspiciously self serving.

If you find yourself enjoying the reachings of the Bible and the broader themes of Christianity, but have a hard time dealing with "Christians", it's possible that the Christians you've met are only Christian in name and don't follow the teachings seriously
@@powellg Who is to arbitrate whether or not someone is a true Christian? I don't see that as the fault of Christians but the inconsistency of the message. When I read the bible or the quran or the bhagavad gita, I cannot tell whether or not it is the word of god. I only doubt there is such a thing. But that doesn't stop me from cherry-picking the good parts like the sermon on the mount as well as others. That's what the so called progressive christians do anyway. But I don't pretend like I have access to absolute truth.
@@powellg "No true Scotsman put sugar on his porridge"
Christians have been arguing who is a Christian for as long as Christianity has existed.
It's clear the term "Christian" is too vague.
Christianity was never meant to be cool, hip, or modern. Christianity is tradition. Whether you believe in God or not, the Bible gives you a blue print to lead a life that will give you inner peace.
No, buddhism is about inner peace. Christianity is about living a version of a moral life.

Late comment, I know... I started as a Christian in the very early 80s as a teen. Baptist, of the southern persuasion. My family moved from this to the charismatic movement or the "give and it will be given" movement as I like to call it now. Most of my time as a follower of Jesus was in this movement. The first thing I noticed then was the lack of Jesus' teaching being carefully taught or followed for the most part. The apostle Paul rules the world of the fundamentalist Christian with not a lot of room left for Jesus and his core teachings. There are VERY few real Christians in America now or even in it's past, though I know there were and are still.
I stopped believing myself long ago, due to the bible's attitude towards slavery. It's the same view as other non-biblical ancient societies that had limited slavery for countrymen and full-on property for non-countrymen. Leviticus 25 covers the two forms in detail and they are just like Roman, Greek, and other societies of the time. Nothing in the new testament changed this and Paul even reinforced it.
So what made you turn from the faith is that the Bible doesn't condemn slavery?
@@PatrikGelis Not that it doesn't condemn it, but it justifies it. The bible unfortunately treated it the same as most ancient cultures. Given that there are 613 rules for a lot of things in the old testament, and slavery was given a few rules guiding it, that was a deal-breaker for me. Many can live with it and be a Christian. I just could not, but don't look down at ones that can.
what was considered slavery in biblical times is a lot different then what you probably have in your head. many people chose to be slaves and the bible specifically condemns people who kidnap and perform slave trade
@@bambisson4502 The bible does cover the kidnaping countrymen. Ex 21:16 and Det 24:7, with both saying the same thing, but with the added context in the Det. verse.
It also gives good coverage of slavery of the ancient world. Leviticus 25:25-28, 39-43, 47-55 covers slavery of countryman and Leviticus 25:44-46 for foreign slaves. These textual views were no different than any other culture of the time. There are also other verses that cover the enslavement of countrymen as well E.g. Det 15 and the prophet Nehemiah. If anything was looked down on, it was this type of slavery. Again, just like others of the time.
There were of course situations that people chose enslavement for debit payment, transport, etc., but it was not how most came to be slaves. It's true that the general view of slaves was "It was their lot in life" and many city slaves (and a few others) had some freedom and privileges, but at the end of the day, they were the property of someone else that could be sold. Paul even held this general view in his letters.
Most slaves of biblical times were taken by force trade (slave trade, raids, family selling, etc) or by conquest. These are the slaves that made up most of the ancient world's slave population. They generally were not seen by most city dwellers and were working in mines, agriculture, or other laboriously hard jobs. In the greek and roman world, these people made up a large part of the local population. The middle east was no exception to this and had its share of "not their choice" workers.
Most slaves lived a hard life in harsh conditions. Many were chained, caged, or both at night, with beatings and punishment being the norm. There were few laws governing foreign slaves' treatment, and they were the owner's property to do with as they wished for the most part. Slave life was not great for most, and the revolts that occurred many times in mass, kind of show this.
This was biblical times slavery.

that depends on the area, for progressive Christians, its more of a square into a round hole,it doesnt make sense and just feels fake to traditionalists, traditionalists are not apealing when they rant about the "gayz", trans people,or whatever charlatan people are believing this week, but the appeal ironically shows itself in stuff like the crusades (the crusaders as they saw it where just alot of DOOM-guys fighting "demons",especially cause the knights where well-armored elites),or even small stuff like reddit memes of "noah, get the boat",and more philosophical arguments (like Peterson),and these DO make a difference on a micro-scale,but they probably won't reverse the trend of religiosity becoming "un-cool" until Christianity becomes alot more niche

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
What would you accept as "extraordinary evidence"? Every time a Christian presents a proof of God, atheists will dismiss it without debate. God transcends space and time, and has no beginning or ending. How would you prove the existence of this in a way that would be accepted by atheists?
@@comicsans1689 I would ask, why do you believe this to be the case that "God transcends space and time, and has no beginning or ending." You basically admit there isn't evidence to support the claim.
@@comicsans1689 The closest thing to "proof of god" I have been provided is people hallucinating during near death experiences and a random person claiming they saw a miracle occur. Apart from this, I have been told that you don't need proof and you should just believe. This is idiotic and we don't accept this as an argument for anything else. Exodus 20:7 says: “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Most pastors with luke-warm temperature IQ will say this verse means that “swearing is bad” when actuality it means to not use the name of the Lord to start useless or pointless acts such as starting wars or crusades or even something much smaller like murder or a divorce because “THE LORD SAYETH SO!” that really should never have happened in the first place. If you want do such pointless things DON’T stamp the Lord’s seal of approval on it. The only people who actually spoke with God were called prophets and back in old testament times, if someone claimed to be a prophet and made a prophecy that never came to pass they were stoned to death. Nowadays when people claim God says the world will end at X date they retire and die as millionaires. Only after their death are they punished for the crimes they have committed against humanity. I personally dgaf if you swear. Just don’t use the Lord’s name to further your selfish goals.

I'm interested in Kenny's taste in music. Seems like a metalhead.
Given the gradual end of Pisces, Christianity will unavoidably contract and lose people; although I ultimately view that as positive. Being the imperial host religion has not been good for it, as being the imperial host is not good for anything; people, languages, nations. The benefit of Christianity no longer being the in thing, is that it means that its' adherents will only be the truly dedicated, or those who genuinely appreciate the religion's individual merits.
As an individual, Jesus' relevance is also completely timeless. He is just as relevant today as he was during his lifetime, and he will reliably be equally so in another 2,000 years. He isn't going anywhere; although as with anyone else, his popularity does wax and wane to an extent. That's normal.
