  • This is the place for lovebirds personata and fischer. In this place we deliberately did not put the nest box in it. This place is indeed for temporary shelter for lovebirds at our place, before they enter certain cages to breed. These are lovebirds personata and fischer left since the tragedy at the end of 2021, and some of the lovebirds in this cage are lovebirds that came from nowhere.

I have enjoyed your videos over the last couple of years especially because I have a Fischer Lovebird, however this latest has me concerned, the birds are having to share their food with a lot of insects crawling everywhere, and it looks dirty on the floor of their cage, can't be good for their health. Please clean it up, I hope to continue watching your videos and your wonderful birds. Thank you

Thank you for being with us for several years. It was something that filled me with joy. Thank you.. We are having a bit of trouble with these insects, they seem to emerge from the leftover grain shells which we use to absorb the excrement of these lovebirds. We've put insect repellent chalk outside the cage and in several places inside the cage where the birds can't reach. We do it at the beginning of each month, and we've been doing it for several months. We hope that in the near future we can find a safe way to reduce the insect population without unduly disturbing the lovebirds. As a first step, we will immediately reduce the grain shells that are scattered in this cage. While the vegetables we serve for them are always fresh, and they will not eat rotten vegetables (those that have been in the cage for almost 24 hours, which we usually clean the next day). Usually we put those fresh vegetables on top, and they eat it. There were a few bits that fell off and they still ate it. This time we tried to put the vegetables on the bottom, because the place above was quite full with their grain and starchy food trays. Actually (maybe) there are two more videos that we have made with a concept like this and in the near future we will upload them here. We hope it doesn't bother you. Thank you for your concern.. 🙏😊

About a year and a half ago, a little lost lovebird flew into my yard in Portland, OR. So tired and hungry and confused that she let me catch her. I am becoming concerned about whether or not I am actually caring for all of her needs, especially social needs. I can barely afford to feed her, but she does get high quality (Lafeber's Nutriberries) food, millet spray occasionally , kale and greens. I have some mineral tablets, a hanging toy, a nest box and always fresh water. I keep her cage clean and put on lovebird videos for her when I am gone. But she was probably abused in her earlier environment and totally freaks out at hands or attempts to engage physically with her. I can't afford to get a mate or friend for her, as I am stretched already with food costs. I would love to find her a home where she could be with other birds as that seems normal for these obviously social creatures. I am feeling bad and responsible for the probable loneliness she is experiencing in my care. I am frequently gone for periods of time, and she just kind of hangs out all the time in the nest box I made her. I feel guilty and like a bad bird mom. Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanks for noticing my comment. Especially wish I could bond with her, it would help me as well as her in struggling with loneliness here.
