The thing that was missed is that, the Planck length gradient moves with the planet, solar system, star clusters, and galaxy, dragging the Planck field and causing Planck force differential (gravity), by positional movement being inversely proportional to relativistic Planck length. This explains gravity, the weakening of Planck force, and the equivalence of special relativistic length contraction and general relativity. Dark Energy, Dark Matter, and Large voids with lesser special relativistic positional movements of Planck vortices have shorter Planck time and longer relativistic Planck length. This means you are pushed towards other masses by the Planck force differential, rather than attracted, there is no such thing as attraction when you account for everything, it is the bisector reflection of inverse directional momentum on local intersect. Fundamental Momentum = square root [x_ConstantFluxtotal^2, y_ConstantFluxtotal^2, z_ConstantFluxtotal^2] to add all the vector direction differentials of flux speed constant in the volume of non-normalized GR backdrop space you are measuring, anywhere.

      I would like to see discussion of her line of reasoning because it leans very heavily on mathematics and reminds me of statements made by David Hestenes regarding Pauli Algebra and Dirac's derivation of his equation. To me, she sounds weak as a physicist but very strong as a mathematician so I feel like I'm watching Weyl vs. Einstein Round 2. Einstein dissed Weyl as an authority on Physics but Weyl's ideas eventually became very useful and while Einstein's physical intuition was very strong he actually got the math wrong about a second clock effect according to Hobson and Lazenby.

    Question about plus around 52:38 or so. The log on the matrix to have the right form involves addition for so(3).
    A Lie algebra is like the logarithm of a Lie Group, approximately. This goes in reverse, a Lie Group is like the exponential of a Lie Algebra (for those in the know, the generators of a Lie Algebra come from how the Lie Group evolves in the tangent space near the identity of the Lie Group). Multiplication in Lie Groups ~ Commutation in Lie Algebras.

      Yes, you can think that the multiplication in lie groups when derives gives the brackets (which you call commutator thinking of physics but do not need to commute). This is a good point.

    You have the “General” in the sphere and “quantum” on the surface…it is the “chaotic” reflection/refraction called CHATOYANCE.
    Something we cannot accurately calculate, but know it is BEAUTIFUL!

      There is another comment where the guy takes issue of her use of the term magical, I had to reply with a similar anecdote, trying to make the point that there is a difference between natural being super and being supernatural, that her use of the term magical was referring to her awe of the beauty of fundamental nature.

    Some help on understanding the term's "quantum's definition" in this science help - I have been researching for its simplified approach to its use for years - like the atomic definition to a circumstance.
    When reaching a level to small to view, but it shows it has activities inside, this view area is grouped for recording the patterns found from a view's point of view - a squared of area easily recorded being present.
    And example to get an understanding building support:
    The atom is to small to actually view but its activities become apparent to a view point from a second layer step out.
    This is showing things like the electron is very fluent with flow properties.
    {Thus the area under is always changing, as its shapes and pattern's current support to the outer view layer.}
    The example -
    Taking the effects of the river/creek's water flow to the sediment area building, clearly will show the sediment sizes by weight will be layered properly, 1st rule of engineering skill building.

      Would be nice to have more highlights on Donaldson work, also explaining the hodge theory in relation to Floer and so on. Floer theory gone through a lots of effort without wide acknowledgement. I think people should learn about it more.
      Not even mention the relationship to string theory or how some works been crossed between these subjects.
      Floer theory is one of the most beautiful mathematical adventure when I was reading back it's development it's truly amazing

I would be happy to talk about Floer theory and the connections to problems in Celestial mechanics, this would be probably for another discussion. Then, I could try to talk more general about Symplectic Geometry and contributions of Donaldson as you mention.

    @43:00 it is not "magical", at least I don't think. Curt's question was deeper. In Newtonian mechanics there is no Poisson bracket, position and momentum are independent. Only once a Hamilton function is defined do you have the conjugate Poisson bracket relations. That requires a judicious choice of "canonical" coordinates, i.e., you have to know the symmetries (or equivalently conservation laws). The exact symmetries might not be known, in which case you can only chug away with Newton. The amazing thing is the symmetries for elementary physical systems are pretty simple and we do know them.

      Let me tell you a quick anecdote,
      On a long trip, driving all night, heading Southeast in a snowstorm. Around sunrise on a very straight section of the highway I reached the point in the storm where the air was exactly at the freezing point, everything else was still below freezing. The snow has turned to a slushy rain I was freezing solid to everything it touched, the sunrise was perfectly aligned with the ice crystals search that the edges of every surface of all the tree branches became prismatic sparkles and rainbows , and despite gliding with no traction I knew and had absolutely no fear knowing I would keep going in a straight line and nobody else was on the road.
      It was magical.
      I'm almost certain that that's what she means by magical, that she is seeing the beauty and balance in the universe, just awed by fundamental nature.
      No way she was calling it magic.
      Natural superness versus supernatural.

    @53:00 isn't it better to just note the Lie algebra generators X live in a vector space _V_ that is equipped with a Lie bracket, so you from inception have operations •, +, ∧. The (Lie) symmetry group is obtained _from_ the exponential map exp(X) on the X. In other words, you _start_ with a vector space, not with a Lie manifold. The interesting thing occurs when the symmetry group involves non-connected components (from mirror inversions for example) which is additional topology resulting in different Lie groups with the same Lie algebra. This is where the Lie algebra fails to fully capture the global structure of the Lie group, which is super important, since you need a double cover to retrieve a connected Lie manifold. I think thar is physics content in thar.

    2 ends of the same scale, quantum physics and the macro universe, in between the spin, torsion the function that unravels the fabric of space/time into a 5th reality from where no need of machines to knit layers of atoms according to standard physics to gravity and the electrons natural path. A geometry where torsion energy knits structures according to quantum geometry. Wolfram found the geometry, Mandelbrot found the spin, Bohr found the quantum, Einstein found the universe and our ancestors found pi and phi. Together we have quantum geometry. One thing missing is how to render this physics. Quantum 3d printing out of the energy of the vacuum. Quantum geometry?

    By "geometric," I guess it is to be understood that we are talking about something that has a shape, and in which time itself is part of this shape. And this shape can be visualized by a brain that is powerful enough. Visualised all at once, instantly. It is just like the Block Universe. I wonder if this understanding of mine is correct. 🙄

      Yea id love to see a Nassim.Haramein interview with some actual push back on some of his ideas. I've only seen softball interviews, but I've been hearing him make humongous claims for 15 years now and all we got is a crystal that to me, personally, doesn't seem to do much. Just saying it'd be nice to see him interviewed by somebody that could give a lot deeper into his claims instead of just outright believing every word he says

Historical comment: I met Hendrik Casimir once during a lustrum of the Huygens Dispuut - a student club of the Faculty of Science of University of Leiden (Netherlands) that counted many famous members in the past and frequent visitors to its meetings, among whom Ehrenfest, Einstein and DeSitter. Casimir was a student of Ehrenfest, and later he became Director of the Philips Physical Lab in Eindhoven. In later age he wrote brilliant columns for some Dutch newspaper. He died age 91 in 2000.

We have discovered, and moved into the quantum frontier, where there are more than ON and Off, and rather than particles, it’s waves, fields, electric/magnetic fields of endless possibilities.     Einstein did not know how to derive the value of 'h' (Planck's constant) within the context of Classical Electrodynamics (Maxwell theory). If we can derive the dimensionless fine-structure constant from for instance mathematical 'Chaos theory' constants (and other math constants) then it is possible to derive the value of 'h' from Classical Electrodynamics. The Planck constant was determined by Planck from the black-body radiation energy-spectrum (as a function of the black-body temperature), however, this constant seems totally unrelated to the constants from CED theory. Dr. Miranda, do you agree that a classical derivation of the value of 'h' should be part of the theory that you are working on?

    Been looking forward to this one for a while!
    Haven't finished watching yet but if there's no mention of the orbit method or the theory of induced representations I'm going to be salty as hell >__<
    EDIT: orbit method briefly alluded to at 54:30 but no explicit mention of orbit method of theory of induced reps... Sigh.... Was a good conversation but was hoping the deep connections to the theory of linear representatioins would be mentioned.
    For anyone curious, geometric quantization can be thought of as a method of producing unitary representations of symmetry from coadjoint orbits of Lie groups. The algorithm is roughly as follows:
    Step i) Start with a dual Lie algebra element f of a Lie group G
    Step ii) Find the stabalizer subgroup of f, denoted G_f, which is the subgroup such that the coadjoint action leaves f invariant. The coadjoint orbit of f is just the space of left cosets G/G_f .
    Step iii) Compute the symplectic form by taking the Maurer-Cartan form of G and composing it with f to get a real value 1-form on G, take the exterior derivative of that 1-form to get a 2-form. This 2-form is degenerate but it's actually the pull-back of non-degenerate 2-form on G/G_f, the latter is the symplectic form.
    Step iv) Check that your coadjoint orbit is integral (see top of slide at 1:31:13). This is equivalent to the condition that the Lie algebra rep of G_f defined by f integrates to a Lie group rep \chi_f: G_f -> C.
    Step v) Conditional on the success of the previous step, take the rep \chi_f and induce from it a representation of the full group G (this uses the symplectic form computed in step iii). The vectors in this induced rep are the sections of the pre-quantum line bundle.
    Step v) The resulting representation is reducible, so to make it irreducible we have to introduce a polarization. This consists of a maximal Lie subalgebra h containing the Lie algebra of G_f such that f([X,Y]) = 0 for all X and Y in h. This condition (at least in the case of real polarizations) ensures f extends to a Lie alg rep of h, and integrality ensures that \chi_f extends to a rep of the corresponding Lie group H. The space of polarized sections are then the vectors of the induced rep of \chi_f viewed as a representation of H.
    Step vi) Was only briefly mentioned in this talk but sometimes half-form quantization is required. This happens when the space of left cosets G/H doesn't carry a left invariant measure, the solution is to tensor with a line bundle whose transition functions compensate for the failure of the measure to be left invariant.

      Please ask him about the Schwarzschild object and the link between simplectic geometry and the throat sphère, at its center after reaching its criticity (due to matter accretion). That is where simplectic math plays a role in the model.
      And about the fact that Timescape assume negative space curvature in voids, that would be same curvature that his model predicts, but the cause of such curvature is different.

    If the background energy field is behaves as a continuous medium, and subatomic particles behave as quantized packets of energy, then the "arrow" must be the continuous exchange between that field and the packets.
    We forget that we cannot simply borrow energy from the background field without a cost. That cost is volume taken from the background energy to generate a packet of energy we can manipulate.
    Where there is a pack of energy, there is a pocket of volume taken from the background field.
    This is not a one-time exchange, however. If that packet must move around, it then must replenish the field before it can move, and it must draw from the field in the direction of the desired movement.
    This exchange can be treated as a kind of "handshake" wheresoever the condensed energy is present.
    When a particle travels through a vacuum, it is constantly in communication with the background field. The same is true when it is not in motion, but idling in place. There is a continuous feed of communication between its position within the field and the amount of the field being consumed to produce this packet of energy.
    One operations ends and immediately a new one begins. This process does not end. In this respect, this continuous communication could be represented as a wave-like interaction, where peaks of the wave are expressed as objects (packets of energy) and nodes of the wave are expressed as motion.
    How do you rectify the timing of this exchange?
    When we look at photons and gravity, these phenomena propagate through space no faster than the speed of light. These phenomena are massively different in scale, yet they both travel no faster than the same speed. This would suggest that the background field has a limit to how fast an exchange can take place. And, in our finest observations, we cannot discern that it behaves faster than this constant rate. This rate appears to be the limiter for what generates a quantized state.
    If we assume that the exchange of information between the background field and a quantum particle is constantly occurring at the speed of light, then when two particles interact with one another, this will cause a decrease in momentum during the exchange. Then, when the exchange has concluded, momentum will be increased once more based on the new information resulting from the collision.

    @7:00 one of the problems here is in conceiving of classical reality as different in ontology. But it is not. What we measure classically is quantum mechanical. The "procedure" of "quantization" is not switching on a new ontology, it is moving to a _different framework of analysis,_ one that allows for entanglement. The spinor (all wavefunctions for fermions) is classical geometry, a dilation and rotation/boost instruction. When you write down an entangled transformation you are admitting classical mechanics is not exact and indivisible stochastic processes have to be accounted for.
    All the things that are real are real classically, and they are also quantum mechanical. The distinction is your frame of analysis, not Nature.

    This idea of a simulation....it seems a bit presumptuous. It's seems far more likely to me that our computers reflect underlying codes and structures that exist in the universe, rather than the other way around. I think this position that since, for example, error codes have been discovered in supersymmetry equations, there must be aliens, or our future selves (somehow) behind the simulation, is an reflexive response motivated by our desire to protect our current ontological model. Long story short; these codes, DNA included, imply some type of creator, or at least something akin to panpsychism. Im not sure I understand why this poses such a problem for people. Tremendous evidence in favor of some sort of field based intelligence has oversight over evolutionary process, etc; consciousness emerging at the quantum level, non neural cognition, respnse driven adaptations in mammals, reptiles, and trees, are a few good examples.

    I think Basil Hiley (close collegue of the great late David Bohm) who has been doing this before she was born, has a better deterministic geometric quantization for QFT including gravity and the non locality of entanglement with the quantum potential using quaternions, nilpotents, twistors, the Einstein 4-vector and Heisenberg position momentum approach instead of a wave function.

    I am following this semi-classical explication. But it is missing some contextualization. Consider the coupled harmonic oscillator, such a fruitful model, tori result because the coupling between the oscillators is negligible, integrable. If the coupling is it is separable into modes, renormalizable, as long as the fiber bundle flow is subcritical. If the coupling is strong, you have non-renormalization, turbulent flow of your fiber bundles. Computationally this the difference between a halting process, non halting process, or a critical zone (see Collatz) where we can't prove it is halting or not by class (computing a Normal transcendental but not a Chaitin's constant).
