hey Ms Hughes, thank you so much for this video! As a pagan devoted to Brigid and Lu, I am awestruck by your opening description of a fire temple in Carlingford Ireland, would you mind dropping a source for this story in the folklore? Thanks -
Amazingly, I found my notes for this. The Schools’ Collection, Volume 0662, Pages 17-20, National Folklore Collection, University College Dublin. I have pondered over this story a lot. It feels 'modern' - and there are several informants telling the same story, suggesting a recent common source. (Or even that one of the informants could be that source.) I remember looking for other references to this story with some kind of explanation, but at the time I didn't find one. It certainly made great material for a poem!
Looking at connections between the Irish and Welsh texts. Please support my work on Patreon at: www.patreon.com/KrisHughes Lugh Lleu also exists as a small book! It contains all the poems and stories that are in the video - although I have rewritten the stories quite a bit for the video, and there is a bibliography! It's available here: www.godeeper.info/chapbooks.html
Thank you for sharing.
You’re a wonderful storyteller, thanks for this! Felt like I was transported in time
