Hey Lucas, thanks for this presentation. Wow, very nice to hear those different styles on this guitar. The folky part reminded me of old Ane Brun songs like "Temporary dive" or "Where friend rhymes with end". Maybe just a coincidence, but very cool.. 😊
What a great sounding guitar - non-amplified, yet rich. Credit to the mic your using for bringing out that richness. It sounds like a cross-over between a bluegrass dreadnought and a folk guitar, so clean and clear but with depth. My ears really perked up when you started strumming. Ovangkol sounds oh-very-cool! This one instrument that covers so much ground and your playing is beyond inspiring - can't wait til the 14th!
Hey my friend. Thank you so much for your kind words on the plane. As per always, I truly appreciate it! Yes, it’s a great sounding lumber for the back and sides. That microphone is my Audix i5 as far as I can recall, either that or it may have been a regular old SM 58 can’t remember which one I brought to the shoot but either way for some reason whenever I record a guitar in the back room at “Sounds good music “things end up coming across bright and well balanced. It’s a great sounding room to do these videos in. Much better then my home studio basement, which is a treated room, so go figure, L O L.. That’s just the way it goes sometimes. We are looking forward to the 14th too! So glad you were able to get tickets.
hello lucas: you asked so here it is. I have one of these, i bought it from the fine fellows at Acoustic Shoppe in Springfield, MO who say they're the largest Eastman dealer in the world. Mine is a scaled up deluxe version with gloss finish, and fishman presys, an upgrade from the sonitone. it also has a torrefied top and a staggeringly beautiful ovangkol back and sides. The tone is clear, and exactly as you say, with the bottom of rosewood and the mids of mahogany, with enough power to push back on my chest when i dig in, hell of a guitar for the money. The only thing wrong is i can't play it like you do....
Oh yeah, the acoustic shop, I love those guys! I’ve checked out some of their videos. Sounds like an ultra deluxe version. Very cool, and as for your comments on the playing, you are too kind, thank you so much.! Enjoy that Guitar, and thanks for watching
Thank you Lucas for another greatly played review of a fine instrument. To answer your request, no, I haven't tried one, and I'm actually reluctant to, after watching you review: I don't have room for another guitar lol. I'm just across the river from the shop, and I think I should get myself pre-emptively banned from Sounds Good...😊. 'looking forward to next Tuesday.
Oh man, I go there about once every six months to shoot these videos and every time I am tempted by something. In fact, I recently picked up one of those Eastman SB 59/V’s from Bret. Well, it’s an amazing guitar in every sense of the word… dammit, Sounds good Music! L O L
Nice playing as always Lucas! What a great sounding guitar too. I already have a Taylor GC body with sitka over sapele, so I was hoping for something very different. Rosewood has become so expensive that maybe this would be the ticket. This Eastman sounds fabulous!
Thanks so much for your comment! It would make a nice contrast. I guess it depends on how contrasting you want to go. You can go for something with a Cedar top, or a body shape that is more drastically different, like A dreadnaught or parlour for instants, for maximum contrast. I will say that this guitar Felt super comfortable and of course would give you more of that Rosewood vibe without the price tag of rosewood. You’re absolutely correct. Unfortunately Rosewood has become really expensive these days. It’s nice to have alternatives like this out there on the market now
@@LucasHaneman Thanks Lucas. Actually, I recently played an E2Om cedar top at a local shop and it has been kind of haunting me. I'm a fingerstyle guy and it has such a sweet voice. A private owner has one on craigslist for $400 US. Does that sound like a good deal? Have you played one of those?
@@smandez2023 sorry for the delay. Yes that is a good price, indeed! And yes, I have played that model. I think having a cedar top guitar around is a nice contrast if you have a spruce top already.
In my opinion, yes absolutely. I have an E6OM which is a very similar guitar but with Mahogany back and sides, and I gig it all the time, singing and playing/looping, etc. etc… It’s my only spruce/mahogany Guitar. I tend to go for rosewood more often personally as I prefer the scooped sound and how it lets my voice sit in the mid range space if that makes any sense. This E30M would be a lot more like a rosewood back inside Guitar. It behaves more like that, but without the rosewood price tag.
@@LucasHaneman Thanks for the great insight. I'm a gigging singer songwriter myself and haven't found many informative videos on UA-cam detailing which guitar shape and tonewoods work best for singers. Perhaps this is an oversight that you could remedy in one of your future videos, as I've encountered many singer/guitarists who have unknowingly choose the wrong tonewoods for their voice.. Kind Regards Adam.
Hey buddy. I shot the video and it went very well! I’m in the process of uploading it right now so stay tuned today. Won’t be long! Thanks again for the inspirational suggestion. You just so happened to catch me on a day when I’m shooting videos for the first time in about a month :-)
That guitar sounds gorgeous ! And your a phenomenal guitarist ! I subscribed. Just beautiful sounds you make sir !
Thanks a ton. I truly appreciate such kind words. Thanks as well for subscribing

@lucashaneman how would you compare and contrast the E3ome and the E1om? Thanks!
Sweet 🎸 Sounds!!! 😊
Thanks a bunch!
Hi Lucas, great playing. I was wondering if the OM body style and the Ovangkal back and sides would lend well to singers ?
