+lrq3000 That's why I made them; the SPM docs were too opaque for a beginner like me, and it was difficult to find anyone else who knew what was going on. The more this helps people get over the hump, the better.
from where should i start? i want to use SPM tool for whole brain segmentation and all the necessary segmentation that help me in my project " detecting Alzheimer disease using deep learning techniques"
Hi there, I would recommend using a more recent introduction to SPM, which you can find here: ua-cam.com/video/qbcBLXJhzZg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AndrewJahn As for whole brain segmentation, you would probably want to use either CAT12 or FreeSurfer for that. -Andy
Thanks so much for your videos. I have 3 questions: (1) To run a script "BatchPreprocessing_job" created using the gui, can I do it without using the gui? (2) Do you have any videos on how to make batches to use the same script for multiple subjects? (3) What is the best method to import and convert DICOM files into Nifti files? I have heard it's best no to use SPM... you tell me! Thanks, master.
Hi Andrew! I'm a beginner on SPM12 and I would like to analyze some PET/CT data we have being producing at our University. Unfortunately I couldn't find good tutorials as yours on the internet. Do you think you could help me on this metter?
Hi Herikam, unfortunately I haven't created any tutorials on PET data, and I'm not sure where to find them. That might be a future project for me, but I can't say for sure when I'll get to it. Best, -Andy
How applicable are these tutorials to SPM 12? As I understand there are quite a few differences between the versions, but it seems especially difficult to find a complete step-by-step tutorial on it. Do you have any recommendations for further information?
Most of them are applicable, but there are important changes that I've been meaning to cover (such as normalization and new features through the GUI). The basic workflow is the same though. Would you like a step-by-step tutorial on SPM12? I'm trying to gauge interest. -Andy
Hi Helena, When you say MRI images, do you mean analyzing differences in grey matter volume (such as voxel-based morphometry)? If so, yes, SPM is able to do that. It can also do SPECT analysis, according to the website, although you will probably have to download a toolbox to do that analysis, such as this one: spect.yale.edu/ Best, -Andy
Hi Andy, Yes, I am referring to analysing that differences in MRI . Thanks for the site, that is what I am looking for for analyse SPECT images. I am very grateful for your help. Best regards, Helena
I am using matlab 2011b I add to spm in to the matlab but spm not run give me error constatntly error : "undefined function file_array for input arguments of type char" I changed file name this time matlab didnt find spm and I delete all spm file , download and back to add but problem still constient How can I check this problem?
Hi Bermal, Did you add SPM to your Matlab path? Once you've downloaded SPM, open up Matlab and select Set Path -> [your SPM directory]. It should work. -Andy
this is a gold channel. thanks!
Really great useful tutorials. A much better job than what SPM's done in its documentation...

These are great. Thanks for putting them together!
You're welcome!

Would you please add links of datasets?

Ok, I'll go through these as well then. Yes I would be very interested if you did an SPM12 tutorial!
Hi! I really want to use SPM for MRI and SPECT images, is that possible? Thanks, the video was very usefull :)
