Turns out The mighty Zen Amps is the new gold leader in amplifier demo’s. I dig your guitar player’s also, there’s two dude’s I’d quit my job & start a band with🤘🏻 .- I’m not kidding man💯 For me this amp has a weird upper “mid’ness”. Which could be precisely what a metal monster madman craves.
You'll need particularly good hair to be in the band, but (confirmation pending) consider yourself on the shortlist. And yep, apparently good players make things sound good - who knew?!
Just found your channel searching for Bogner Uberschall. Your recording quality is top notch! Sounds amazing, even on my Samsung Galaxy Ultra phone. Your microphone 🎤 placements are perfect! Thank you for showcasing the Bogner Uberschall Ultra b.c I am interested in this amp 👍🏻
Love this channel! It's great to see a new video from you guys. You guys should try to get your hands on a Hughes & Kettner TriAmp MK II and make a video of that amp being taken for a test drive🤘🤘🤘
It's a fantastic amp, I tried several amps and I went back and forth between it and a diezel vh4 when deciding on my first really great amp. I ultimately went with the diezel because the bogner was TOO polished sounding. Too much compression, couldn't get that massive full but still articulate sound. This is a really good demo, though, and demonstrates the amp's character well.
I was actually really surprised at how nice to lower gain greenback clips were: Spongy and had some chirp in the pick attack. Maybe I liked it because of its lineage with the Ecstasy being apparent, but noticeably angrier and more modern. Still just an added bonus with the massive amount of filth on tap.
Yeah those tones are decent, but it seems setting up the power controls for a chunky high gain tone can make getting lower gain tones tricky. Bit of a compromise like many multi-channel / mode amps where the power amp stays constant.
The title is absolutely spot on boys. It is an absolute FILTH MACHINE!!!! Bogner has always been my favorite flavor, yet sadly they are astronomically expensive and I'll never be able to afford one being disabled and on a fixed income. So I get my Bogner fix with the Red Channel pedal which is in my opinion the best designed pedal ever created. It plays and feels just like your really playing a filthy tube monster!!! Hahahaha ROCK ON BOYS, and keep on kicking out the notherfucking jams!!!
I imagine it might have 1 maybe 2 great high-gain sounds even though it's promoted as varied. More options than say a 5150 but not eg a Granophyre where you can get multiple great tones that are different, could be wrong tho (basically the ultra might work best at one singular sound, like many amps)
I bought one recently, and am surprised at how much you can change the Channel 2 gain structure. The Density, Depth, 3 switch presence shift (U, Hair, Hair+), gain structures (DOOM, Focus, Bright), and Uber/Ultra mode is more complex than even I realized before I bought it. It's of course all in the high gain range and if you want versatility and Bogner, the Bogner Ecstasy 101b cannot be beat.
I had It ( kt88 version ) and i had to return It. It' s almost imposible to control the ground noise. It sound great but so much noise with the boost or the ultra mode.
Do people actually buy the nastiest high gain metal monster amp actually expecting to achieve 70's Marshal tones? Just seems weird that would be a thing. I mean I wouldn't expect a 70's Marshal to be the answer for modern metal brutality.
Probably not, but we were interested to see if Crunch mode could. It’s not bad, but if you’re used to a good Plexi or 2203/4 you might be disappointed.
my herbert mk3 and engl SEFE670 have kind of been collecting dust since getting the uber ultra. thing is a MONSTER
I been using my Uber ultra with a mesa but my fav cab is the Engl xxl 🤘🏻

Sounds great! This might sound weird but it sounds a little like a Diezel/Marshall blend to me for some reason
Yeah fair call. Marshall sting with Diezel drive and thickness, a good combo.
Glad you're back!
Sweet melody to my ears
The sound of PRS noodling was meaty, chewy, tasteful and made me hungry for more!
Hmm, based on that description we should really start a cooking show.
Totally into the way you embellished 'Kiss Of Death' very creative!
Gotta make George proud.
I somehow missed the notifications, didn’t realise you guys were back. But anyway you are, that’s the main thing! 👌
The demand was so high we eventually had to placate the masses!
Great video as always.
Another well done demo! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you Leon! 👊

Most excellent - very cool amp!
That's the definition of THICC
Indeed LT, like a cement based thickshake.
i love the opeth riffage!

Send us one and we will !
@zenamplification are you guys located in the U.S.
No Australia
oh yeah Opeth!
I must say I like Season 2 of this series. Slightly shorter episodes focused on the tones even more - if that was possible.
Agreed!
Maybe ‘Season 2’ is our time to shine, like Parks & Rec or the Office.

It’s fairly versatile but yeah, it’s really about the high gain in the end.

"does anyone care about the uber clean"? Heck yeah i do

Well this amp certainly has a lot of gain. How hot were you running the gain in Ultra mode?
Around 12 / 1 o' clock. I have a vh4 2023 and for playing at home with a Fryette Powerstation theres no colour, way way better Vh4.
Love it! 16ohm or 8ohm on the 2015 V30?
16's all round except the Mesa cab that sometimes pops up 🤟
