“Why people do that…” Because as much as it’s possible to love someone you’ve never met, that’s how I feel about you all. I won’t try to speak for anyone else, but that’s the only word I could come up with that fit. I mean look at the number of hours I’ve spent with you!
I will say that I person ain’t gonna put that much work into a gift just because they “kinda, sorta, maybe,” think you’re a good guy. Just my take.

I’m getting old myself now and my folks have been gone quite a while. To those who are/were fortunate enough to have loving parents, know that you won life’s lottery. No one will love you like them and they sacrificed greatly for you no doubt. Never take that for granted.

You ain't got to find that video for me. I'm with you, it don't work...the fire ants I mean. I can see me in one of those long hives when I scale down. Thank you for this video brother. Emotions are not the sum of a man but they definitely tell you a lot about this character and his personality. And I don't know your dad I don't have any personal relationship with him. However there's something I see in him that's familiar and I can tell it that he has a rare heart and it's a heart of service and a heart of gratitude. Thank you for loving your dad on camera Randy I really do appreciate this. I also have great relationship with my dad and also do have other men in my life that are fathers to me. I know how rare it is to have a loving father and tother and to be loved by them and then love you and return. This is a lesson in itself on how to repay others with kindness.
Shalom and much love in messiah.

"Do you have a knife.....yeah, I got my pants on." I have a vivid memory from 25 years ago when I went on a business trip from Indiana to Dallas, Texas. A group of us girls were at a business, I needed a knife, I asked about 12-15 men if they had a pocket knife. Amazingly enough, none of them did. I really thought something was wrong with those boys. I went back to Indiana.

That is a slick looking long hive. I kept bees for the past 4 years on my property in northern Michigan, but the combination of brutal winters, bears, and near 100% wooded property have made it less than successful. My favorite hive was a long langstroth hive. They're just nice to work in. My creation was nowhere near as pretty as this thing though.

A beautiful father son video. It's obvious how much joy beekeeping gives your dad, and it's obvious how much you love each other too. Thanks so much for sharing this intimate inside view of your relationship with your dad. Pretty special. I sure wish I still had mine, but I enjoyed him every day while he was here with us.

If your hives sit on legs instead of blocks, Tanglefoot, or Tangle-trap round each leg works all summer for me. Not poisonous, just sticky so ants don't cross it.

Love it Rooster. Glad your pops bounced back after the scare. It's nice to see someone so genuinely appreciative of others' kindness. He done you boys right. I lost my dad 7 years ago this month. I think those two old timers would have made pretty good friends. Keep up the good work!

I take back most of the mean things I said about you in private.

No wait Reggie! Don't take it back. I need someone talking trash on my behalf.
You now I named a rooster after you. He's mean but he keeps the flock in line.

Loved your dad’s reaction to the new hive Randy. They did an amazing job on design and artistic work. Beautiful box. That was a very thoughtful gift for your dad Randy. So many don’t realize what it means to do something special for our parents when they worked hard for us and did the best they could in earlier years. Thank you!
Oh! Those little bitty ants down south where I’m from are called piss ants. The fire ants best way to get rid of them is find their mound and pour I think it’s seven dust down the hole and all around the diameter of the mound. Been a long time don’t live there anymore. But I’ll never forget those bites, the swelling, itching, burning and puss. Take care! I’ll be praying for your dad and your family! ❤️🙏🙏❤️

Dad - you have spent your life doing for others so that when something is done for you in return, it can be difficult to accept that the well deserved favour is really for you. So now you have the apiarist's equivalent of a raised garden bed that allow old 'boomers' like me to keep gardening.

Who the heck gives this a thumbs down? Seriously. I know he's going to be so happy getting to work his own bees again. Love it! I thought this was a cool design the first time I saw it. Looks like they fine tuned it. Great thing you did guys.
