    When your battery appears to be dead, try a reset first (There's a small hole in the bottom) watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/NR9KqkItiuk/v-deo.html
    Also if you have a charger like the iMax B6/B6AC you could try to charge it, charge it as a NiCd for a few minutes if it fails when you try to charge it as a Li-ion, after a few minutes charge it as a Li-ion.
    Just to be save I would charge it @ 100mA (Lowest charge rate for the B6), and of course you do it at your own risk!!!
    Keep in mind that if the batteries have been empty for quite a while, they're damaged and the capacity may be very little, mine still hold about 250mA after I let them sit for several years. YMMV

    I think my new battery is too fat. I can't close the controller back properly and now the L2 and R2 are stuck in the pressed position.

    so my main reason for wanting to replace the controller battery is so i can charge it with any usb plug since ive been reading that the only decent way to charge the original ps3 controllers battery is through the ps3 itself, for some reason is doesnt charge well through laptops etc, does the polymer allow charging via any usb port/does it charge quickly?

    Hello, I know this is an old video but I’ve tried EVERTHING. Several used controllers I got don’t charge the cheap Amazon batteries, but my aftermarket controllers do. Is there a battery that works best for Sony controllers or am I just doomed

    Hi I came across your videos while trying to find out if I should buy new ps3 controller or try and replace the battery I found your video quite useful but I have a question I bought a replacement battery and did just like you showed but the controller battery still doesn't seem to be charging could the new battery be dead or does it need time to create a charge

    • @RedHairTech
      @RedHairTech  3 роки тому +1

      It could be that the batteries are dead if you let it charge for a couple hours and it does not hold it’s probably the battery.

      I don't remember for sure but I believe it was the same or similar to the replacement battery

    • @KILLorBE
      @KILLorBE 3 роки тому +3

      I believe the original battery is about 570mA (There are at least 2 or 3 different batteries, but they have the same or a very similar capacity).
      I really doubt the aftermarket batteries are actually 1200mA or even 1800mA.

    • @jamuthedamager1464
      @jamuthedamager1464 2 роки тому

      @@KILLorBE Yeah they claim to be 1800mAh but I would be willing to bet that a less powerful name brand battery would last longer and hold more charge.

    • @user-neo71665

      @@KILLorBE From the reviews it seems most test out to 1200mA which is better than the factory but still not advertised mA. Why is it best to get batteries from a well known source and not from some random place on amazon or fleabay.

    Hello great vid. Could save some mine on buying new remote. Question. My battery model number is LIP1472. 570 mah. Does model number really matter. I have took battery out and the plug seems too be the same across all models. Thanks

    • @RedHairTech
      @RedHairTech  3 роки тому +2

      As long as everything else is the same the model number might change slightly just make sure everything else is the same.

  • @elmariachi5133
    @elmariachi5133 23 дні тому

    Is it really an upgrade? The original obviously is an LiPo-battery. You are just replacing the proprietary cased one by a generic one. And the hypothetical upgrade is mostly fantasy, that, as we we all know, is being written arbitrarily on chinese batteries... So: Yes, it can be used for repair. But I doubt it's much of an upgrade. ;)

  • @Tendo209Mods

    Sorry, isn't it a bit dangerous to swap out a LiPo battery in place of a Li-ion? How has the rechargability worked so far?

    • @RedHairTech
      @RedHairTech  2 роки тому +1

      The only thing I am aware of is if you damage the battery while installing it you can have a big problem. I have not used this color in a while but last time I used it it was great
