Return to Running Strengthening for Calf or Achilles Injuries

- If you've had a calf tear or even an Achilles problem, maybe you've even had surgery in that Achilles and you've been doing lots of calf strengthening work, you've done all your program and you're going to try and now return to running or even to sport. Most of you who are trying to return from calf strengthening to running will still maybe have a lack of bulk in the gastroc muscle. I've got some stuff for you to try and bridge that gap.

So pleased I found this video. I’m 2 years post Achilles rupture, conservative repair in the boot and despite over 1 year of physio I still can’t do a single leg calf raise. Have gastroc atrophy but a huge calf muscle in the other leg from compensating. Have become very down about this as I’d love to get back to running. Your video is the simplest explanation I’ve heard of the targeted exercises I can do to get back. Thanks so much!
I’m in a similar situation, two years post injury and still struggling to get back to normal. I think these exercises will help. Let’s keep at it!
Very necessary for me, after 3 months that I operated Achilles tendon. I can walk but feel pain a little bit around ankle and walking posture it’s not completely. Maybe my muscle lacked and i cannot run. So this is good for me how to start to run. Thanks 😊

Hey, this is a great video. I’ve been struggling with post tib tendinitis and recently issues with really bad tightness in my lower calf when running. Would this help both issues? Desperate the get back to marathons so any tips appreciated. 😊

Thank god I found this I am 7 months post op and still cannot do a single leg calf raise and even sometimes have some slight discomfort or stiffness, is this normal ?
