The necromancer is the equivalent to
"the boss when you fight him"
"the boss when you unlock him as a playable character"
yea every time i hear that i always thought straight towards Necro
The necro is pretty good as a character though just not as good
@@sus-ox5pl true
brute too because u dont play with him on the sandwich form
Exactly he’s so easy lmao
I am not sure if many people know about the Unicorn sword , but if you are fighting the painter, leave a unicorn during the final phase, and you can finish off the painter, giving you the weapon. Just a little note I wanted to inform people about.
Cool!
Not only that, but it's the best magic weapon (for ONLY magic, it's not great for melee)
"There must have been something I ate"
BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH BLEH
The Necromancer is #1 because his theme song is deadly.
It’s not just a theme song it’s a battle itself
yes simple sight is such a good song the best in the soundtrack
@Gnome That likes turtles on insane mode, it’s fuckin hell.
@Gnome That likes turtles your wife will get beaten to where you forgot you had one,
You will beg for mercy to the army of enemies.
Necromancer himself is easier then the summons
No, its the Groom because his song is how he kills you.
17:34
*in the background*
painter: my brush is mightier than your sword
I only recently realized that he actually said stuff lol
What’s in the freezer, Mr. Cashier?
the brush is mightier than the sword! Jean Pierre Polnareff you don't stand a chance!!! Muahahahaha!!!
My favourite boss is the ice king
He has that final boss feeling even more than the necromancer or the evil wiz
His laugh is iconic and so is his face
He reminds me of those castlevania dracula fights
Glad to see another Ice King lover. I always loved his expressions and animations. The fight was always a pest, but a fun one, at that. It felt so rewarding to defeat him, haha.
Ok no offense but I HATE ice king. he is so ANNOYING!!!
@@jellyboo899 I'm with this guy. Especially when he's down to 15% hp and just does his thing
@@jellyboo899 although the corn boss was stupid annoying too
I'm glad he added the volleyball fight because its so unfair
Yeah I fucking hate that stage everytime I have to do that one
@@yeahthatsvoid just use red or the industrialist/fencer
I usually just hit the guys on the other side to stun them and make them unable to hit the ball I usually beat the fight 0-10
@@magnagamer8256 the problem comes down to beating the game solo without those characters
I. hate. volleyball. no matter if it’s in a game or reality I hate it with a passion
average metal shield
blocks a entire laser the size of a school bus
makes sense
Yet it can’t block a guy doing a normal splash damage attack
@@burninggarbage7178 it can hit your sussy toes
I completely agree with this list
And I congratulate you for not revealing the face of the purple princess to not ruin the beauty for the new players
Also for insane mode
Boss attacks do a shit load of damage and the AI patterns went from slightly angry to *Your ass is grass and I’m the lawnmower*
I haven't completed it yet but I do remember getting stuck on the level with the cone head jedis due to them being heavy enemies I got to used to basic juggling that I simply couldn't adjust
The necromancer for melee builds is probably the most fun thing when fighting him head on due to you having to block and not relying on magic or archery
Unless your playing blue/red knight and spam stun magic
The troll mother is easily one of the hardest fights in insane mode
actual facts. that and beating the entirety of industrial castle. bane of my existence.
@@crossbladegaming6651 The average insane mode industrial castle: You walk in, smack around the first encounter, they hit you with one sawblade and you die on the spot
@@The_Gold_Bunny seems about right.
My favorite boss is Conhead Groom, love his grim twist on a wedding tune/theme. Not to mention the Cannon Organ. Pretty creative! Wish that phase was more difficult though.
He's cool, sadly, stomp
“If you’re melee specialized, you have done well in this game until you have reached this boss”
Also Melee Specialists: *Jump. Toward. Enemy.*
For the evil wizard fight i would recommend moving ever so slightly that the crystals practically stack up on each other and you with screw him over with insane damage
17:06 the real way of winning here is to use the shovel to knock him down (yes you can do that i tried)
You might know this but, you can actually air combo shit lords face a lot. I still enjoyed this video, and need more attention honestly.
yeah hes actually dang easy with melee as long as you can at least xxxy or xxy juggle (idk the pc equivalentmto x and y sorry)
@@terik_z yeah I think I remember using 7,8,7,8
The Necromancer almost gave me nightmares because how hard it is. And you having to walk over dead bodies are also very creepy... But still you Necromancer is so hard
Neat tip for the Corn Boss:
Arrow spam at max agility!
As soon as it spawns, start hitting him with arrows and don’t stop! Don’t even move! Just keep firing!
It cover itself for defense, but won’t move, so you can (with enough patience) take him from full health to zero without either of you moving an inch!
Also, the Medusa petrification beam is technically “blockable” in the sense that if you just turn your back to her, it won’t hurt you!
Best attack title names I’ve seen ever. Nice narration work.
Y’all gotta remember to use your shield cause your shield is gonna be your best friend in your play through
You can also convince the two farmers to help you in the corn boss if you get the corn to burrow beneath them but they do not do that much.
Honestly thought Medusa was the easiest boss. Always went near her with Shield whole time and did magic attack. Get behind her while the gaze attack and makes it cake
Fun fact: You can defend the barbarian king punch and spike dash
The only tip I can give for the corn boss is that on Insane mode (and normal) you can bait him to hit the peasant and civilian and they'll help you on the fight.
Its not much but they know where he is so you can predict your attacks, plus that extra damage is welcome, as they are immortal
I remember fighting the ice King with my dad while I was ice knight, and i now just realized how ironic that is.
Still was very fun though
The memories this video brings back to me are insane
I used to fight Necromancer with my lvl 90+ red knight just so I could vibe to the theme
I forgot how broken the red knight, industrialists and fencer magic were when maxed out
Red knight isn't really that good, he's just easy to use for new players
Try Pink Knight and Blue Knight
Red knight is good for killing the normal and brute enemys, but for bosses....is just a little bad
@@toupr4770 yeah that why i use fencer and industrialist since they shred bosses
@@toupr4770 like I said he's easy to use for new players, but if you learn how to play the game you just juggle the normal enemies and for beefies you either range camp them, juggle them, or use a weird spot where they can't hit you, but your splash magic can hit them, all you really need magic for is bosses, the only broken character that doesn't melt bosses with magic is blue knight, because he is so safe, especially in the necromancer fight, you can use his splash magic in the air and you don't have to stand still like red knight and it let's you start free juggles
When you fight the Necromancer, it feels like your actually fighting a player
You deserve more views and subs, this is really well made and thought out.
@@Codiferrous hey can u help me with getting brute (the character) please (I play on ps5) I understand if no
Codiferrous: the painter makes shitty art like squidward
Squidward: you see me in many episodes drawing myself perfectley, even a brain and I painted a billion of me in 1 second on plankton chum bucket
15:08 Or, y’know, look away. You can still damage the snakelings without looking at them.
For the evil corn, you want to run near to the civilian and present and wait for the corn to spawn up so they can help you out in the fight.
I’d put the painter at #1 just because of his ultra menacing voice.
Mac os boing is best text to speech
Just discovered this channel. I enjoy it. Hope to watch more of your vids.
12:00 the luck that you had when you got hit off the platform I'm pretty sure the bear was probably like what really but seriously that luck was very huge and the replay says it all
I kinda like how the industrial king is using the knight's respective powers to try and defeat them only with machines rather than magic
all these years and ive never noticed
Thank you I needed this.
The narration on this is amazing. Informative, yet very funny, which keeps me interested XDDDD
"The shitlings LMAO"
For the painter I use the polar bear pet, because he almost always insta shots his drawings
I was honestly really impressed by how good the commentary (which is very funny) and gameplay were on this video. Castle Crashers is my favorite game of all time, and videos this quality about it are kinda rare nowadays. I know this comment is kinda late, but I didn’t know this video/channel existed until now. I will definitely be looking at some of your other videos and subscribing.
Lovely video man love castle crashers
this man could narrate a car crash and it will still be interesting
Tip on corn boss: you can make the peaseants help you if you stand next to them and let they get hit by him. They don't do much, but hey, extra damage is always good.
So glad this video exists, but I didn't watch it before playing due to spoilers. I wish to see an insane mode version because that's what requires a lot of strategy
Nostalgia hitting rn
(Also good video, and pretty funny)
Thank you for not spoiling the ending for new players ;)
The last four bosses (according to me) are based off of the crew behind this game
The painter is the artist
The undead Cyclops is the designer
The necromancer (necromancer theme song for the win) is the animator
The wizard is the creator (duh)
you are very under rated great vid

Just so you know, Medusa's petrifying gaze is actually block able
A handful of minor notes, criticisms, and tidbits from a seasoned player/Gray Knight Gary(?):
- Before you even think about speccing into any specific build for any given run, know that it is best to round out your kit and to never stick yourself to one solid option. Typically, I like to start by getting every other stat to about 3-5 before full dumping into magic. Defense isn't as necessary, but if you're ever feeling like your HP is too low, don't be afaid to invest. I usually only max it out at 2-3 before the magic dump begins. While you might think the magic dump is counter-intuitive to what i just said, you need it to be high for the Magic Jump, which is a monstrously powerful tool for every build. Once you get it, feel free to dump everything else into strength for the rest of the run.
- Red Knight is a noticeably silly character for the campaign. He essentially turns the whole game into "can i hit Splash Attack right?" for most of the enemies in the game due to the insane damage output and stun it provides. If it's your first time running the game ever, i won't blame you for using him, but it definitely dims the difficulty of the base game down an awful lot, so try to save it for when you just want a generally easier time.
- The troll chase on the cart is stupid easy, even as a melee bro. You can literally 1-combo the troll's face into oblivion, and what's the downside to doing this? A measly 5 HP for falling off. I've been doing that since i was but a wee lad, and it's still my preferred method of messing him up today on anything but red knight.
- Catfish, while a fairly complex boss to maneuver for first timers, the King operates as a sort of guide to go off of when attacking the beast. He'll point at incoming hairballs, raise his shield when you should, and shouts at you when you can be laying in the hurt. Very helpful if you're stuck on that boss.
- Sock Dragon actually has a sweet spot where you won't get hit by the rocks, plant attack, or the fire breath. It's about where our man backs up for a potion at 19:33. You NEED a normal magic projectile or high enough agility to abuse it, but when you do, not even the fire demon will be a problem, unless your projectile is fire-based.
- Friendly reminder that if you ever get too low on HP, the 2 vases in Cyclops' room actually drop fruits to heal yourself. Came in clutch for me quite a lot.
- When fighting the Necromancer, try not to headbang. Also, may God have mercy on your eternal soul.
The Evil Wizard Section:
- When fighting the evil wizard during phase 1, try your best to goad each crystal into the same spot. Don't spread them out as shown in the vid, but use your magic jump to avoid all 4 crystals and get them all on top of each other. From here, use anything but arrows and boom, you just owned phase 1. Repeat if there's any extra crystals still kicking.
- Phase 2 is easily the most annoying of them all. Honestly, Codiferrous put it to words the best. Try your damndest to be behind him at all times though, especially while his shield's red.
- Phase 3/5, best put by Codiferrous again. Mash X while staying glued to him. If you ever lose just a little too much height, realign yourself with the Uppercut input (X, Y) and continue the molly-whopping.
- Phase 4 is honestly not as bad as it sounds in the video. No offense, but our man's not booked into the Church of Uppercut. With the Blessed Uppercut, which was given to us by our lord Tom Fulp, you can once again glue to the top of his hitbox, dodging all of his attacks entirely without ever falling if you can keep it up long enough. I know I personally can't quite manage it with damage maximization, but you avoid just about 90% of all damage in this phase.
- Phase 6 is definitely the most tedious and has the weirdest bug featured so far. When you try to combo the wizard in the air, his sprite will spring upwards for no apparent reason. It's unknown to me if his hitbox extends or if it stays in place or if it moves with him, just know it's frequent. Definitely still try to combo him while you can during this, though. It's easily his biggest window of oppurtunity.
If i think of more to write here, i'll edit it later, it's like 4 AM A.T.T.O.W. this.
We all know we needed this
Amazing video for first timers for sure, but it's funny how you can actually break some bosses xD
The best one is 20:00 Cyclops, just go to the right side of the lava pool and aerial.. amazing expolit xD
thanks for the video
dude you are so funny and i can agree with all these rankings
Sorry for the late reply, but thank you for the love!
i had so much trouble just getting to necromancer AND the industrial king and btw i spared the industrial king and i think he is happy now and is a botanic
but have you actually thought that maby the king is the bad guy and he stole the crystal from the evil wiz. *my mind explodes*
Brings me back to when I balanced all my stats equally and never ever blocked or used arrows as a kid fighting all of these guys with my family in coop. Good times.
@@Codiferrous fire knight here. Even managed to force our way through insane mode, mostly by getting really good at group magic spam and revives. Still didn't use shields or arrows basically ever.
nice vid bro. if you are having a tough time with 29:08 a strength built is very effective so long you spam sandwitches.
Nice vid man
This video is just 𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓯𝓮𝓬𝓽 also the ice king is the boss equivalent of your phone charging at a specific angle
This video is underrated!☺
Here's My ranking from easiest to hardest:
21: Alien ship
20: Bear boss
19: Troll boss
18: War machine
17: Barbarian boss
16: The volcano
15: Dragon and sock
14: Sand volleyball
13: Industrial machine
12: Undead cyclops
11: Medusa
10: Catfish
9: Painter boss
8: Troll mother (in Insane mode)
7: The giant bat (in insane mode)
6: Cyclops
5: Corn boss
4: Ice king
3: Evil wizard
2: The groom (in insane mode)
1: Of course... The necromancer
What do you think of My ranking?!☺
When volleyball is harder than fighting a thousand aliens with laser rifles XD
Once upon a time I was actually good enough at melee combos to beat the necromancer without casting. That was a hell of a time and felt badass
Funny this shows up in my recommended just when I am thinking about playing CC again.
For the final boss pressing your jump twice to do the spin attack actually has fixed damage and does waayyyyy more than 1 damage. On the final stage get under him and follow him while doing the spin move and back off when he attacks with his small arms
Some tips fir a couple of these bosses : on the bat boss you can stay in the bottom left corner and block his lick and then attack the bat will bit fly back up
Also in the end section of the painter boss bipolar bear will one shot all the paint things on screen
On necromancer if youre on co-op you can know him down you and your partner get in one side of him and stomp him to death he womt get up and this also feels like an eternity
Finally a true gamer
Love it I love castle crashers
Insane mode is difficult for me
I kept dying at that mother thing.
I like playing as Hatty :P
hatty is weak-
None of this applies to the Industrialist and Fencer and that is exactly why they are so powerful. You can cheese most of the middle tier and even top tier bosses here.
I really did need this
i love castle crashers i still play that game to this day
This guys content is great
Underated UA-camr
i mean the volleyball one makes sense that it counts for a point to the "boss" if you hit it and it lands on your side and that is what happens in normal volleyball
I remember the dragon & sock... I was a tank, thankfully, so I could keep rescuing my coop members! It took us like 20 attempts to beat it.
In general, Necromancer is indeed the hardest boss. However, as a boss themselves, Conehead Groom is easily the hardest. Necro himself is really easy while Groom zooms across the stage and whacks you once and you’re dead.
Now I see why I died so many times on the conehead groom.
7:33 fun fact with melee you can jump and start attacking him
I've wanted this for a long time
You’re right about the industrial castle on insane mode
Note that on sock dragon, if you are bulked up from a sandwich, you don't get invincible from being hit by the Boulder. Meaning it hits you until its through you, leaving you dead usually.
I miss in the old version where you could boomerang the industrial kings electric stick things and just mass farm exp
A tip i can give you for Pipistrello: his vampiric lick only has a horizontal hitbox, that means that by moving up or down you can completely avoid damage, and if your timing is good enough, you can completely lock him, by trigerring his attack, avoid, attack him yourself rince and repeat.
Here's actually a good method of defeating the sock dragon.
1. Load up on health and beefy sandwiches in the shop or from the Cult Minions in the level before Cyclops' Fortress
2. Face the dragon in Lava World
3. Camp underneath his head and juggle the Cult Minions so you can reach his head while having the beefy effect applied, that way you can load up on attacks to his head, using arrows can defeat him also but you need to max out your agility
Hope you learned from this guide! :D
Sock dragon was easy because I had magic maxed
you can cheese the catfish by going to the left of the screen below the captain ship and pushing against the ship
ther none of the cats attacks can hit you and you can just arrow or ranged magic attack your way to victory
because from that position you will also have the catfish ram into the ship and be able to hit the hairball with either arrows or ranged magic attack
when hes trying to punch you, you will also be able to punch back without getting hit yourself, in case that your a meelee build
I like how the alien ship drops alien hominids.
As a melee specialist you can leap for the troll Lord's eyes and beat the crap out of them you can block the bats lick to help with melee damage and with puppet dragon you can go far enough to the top to be in line with his chin and damage him through arrows or magic at the cost of possibly being hit by a bolder
I have never looked at stats with such pain before
“Fuck lava world” I’ve never heard wiser words
@@Codiferrous Btw here’s two tips:
You can shoot arrows at the Shitlord’s eyes when he’s about to shoot his eye lasers and he wont shoot them
And you can also make the Corn Boss hit the two guys in the back and they actually help
Fun fact about the corn boss fight, there is actually a way to make it easier, you can actually get the two npcs in the back to join the fight, wait for the corn to burrow, then stand in between the two npcs, the attack will hit both npcs and then they will join the fight, be careful though, with enough hits the corn can actually kill the npcs
I like this list. I totally agree with 1.
My 2nd favorite game. And I have played a lot of video games!
Same honestly
In the final phase of the final battle, you can super jump up and hit him while he shoots fire balls, makes it a lot easier
This is a tutorial and comedy gold
Thank you
The evil wizard is the reincarnation of the word: rematch
@@Codiferrous hahaha yes!
There are a few bosses I find you can win on both modes without getting hit at all being the second cyclops fight and the catfish fights, the barbarian boss fight is similar but there is a slight chance of being hit
killing the giant troll when on the carriage, you can still use melee on him if you jump off and do an air combo. When you hit the ground when he dies you will not take that much damage
Necromancer has my favorite battle and song
For the corn boss you can have the two farmers join you if they get attacked.
