@JohnRiggs Thank you! 😊🙏 Perfect Timing! I _just_ ordered the Ambernic 35XXH *YESTERDAY!* And Data Frog 🐸 SF2000, Open Source R36S, POWKIDDY 😺 V90 and I also got a Funky 🗝️ S for my keys 😁 AliExpress was having a sale. Bwahahaha 😅 Over $500 in stuff I don't need on one sleepless late night. Sorry wifey 😮 After the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro I got recently, I couldn't resist trying these other toys out *ON SALE!*😜😁😊
Man, I need a 3D printer. I just bought on AliExpress yesterday and 4 other retro handhelds LOL Could you make me a grip for my Funkey S, it's to damn small bwahahaha 😊😅😂
I picked up mine in the clear purple to remind me of my old beloved N64 these hand helds are great and what a great video to add you shown me more things I did not know about to add many thanks ..
I've had an older model for a while now, the RG350M, absolutely love it. Running everything from C64 up to SNES-era with no issues, it can handle PS1 but not quite as well. Love it for the older stuff though. Will have to check this out, thanks for the video John!
I've run GameCube, PSP, and PS2 games on mine. Pikman runs great. I also put the Daijisho on it as my frontend. It's a great little system. Also, DS games work great with the touch screen.
Think he's (likely) talking about a different handheld altogether. This particular one doesn't have Android which is required for a frontend like Daijisho
I want to get one as soon as possible. The clear purple one for nostalgic reasons like the GB Color I had in the 90's. It will be awesome to have the form factor of the GBA but with the joysticks. Found your channel through Metal Jesus and I've subscribed.
I have one of these and love it. The cheap SD card it comes with is junk, though. Mine corrupted in less than a week. I got a Sandisk and it runs great now.
If it corrupts, is your OS done/bricked? Someone recommended swapping it out immediately when you unbox it. Would you say to do that too? I ordered mine with just the 64gb card, not the extra one.
@theowlsofouterheaven If the SD card gets corrupted, the system will not want to boot up and will eventually not work at all. You will then need to get a new SD card, download the operating system and games online, reinstall it, and start over. If you take the SD card you get and clone it (not merely copy it, there is a cloning process) you can avoid going through all of this. It is not a question of if, but when you have to do this. That cheap SD card WILL corrupt.
WHOA, I'm sitting here playing SRW30 on the SWITCH and just did an attack with Fuu in Sky God Windam and I start this video and it opens with Magic Knight Rayearth! This looks really cool especially for the Saturn! So many games I've missed and would like to revisit on that system. If this thing had video output I'd buy it right now.
Getting one of these kinds of devices with TV-out & bluetooth controller support makes it hard for me to justify keeping thousands of retro games around.
Thank you for the video John! I have a question, do you use a screen protector for this? I'm not using one myself but I often wonder if I should. Your input would be very helpful.
I have one bought it few months ago I haven't had any success running sega saturn games it runs them but not smoothly at least, I even updated the firmware, it just doesn't seem to have the horse power to emulate saturn games at least at playable framerate without sound and framerate stutter. Kinda struggles with some n64 and dreamcast games too but saturn all games I tried were basically unplayable. I do love it though, it's just not quite powerful enough to actually run saturn or most n64 games. Dreamcast is allot better but it will struggle with some dreamcast games too.
Its weird seeing a portable device emulating Saturn with only 4 buttons. If it were me, Id adapt a, aftermarket Nomad shell, add on shoulder buttons and a single analog stick, then work on the internals from there
It isn’t really marketed as a “Saturn emulator”. Its main focus are previous generations including all Nintendo up to snes, with the bonus of some saturn/n64. It also plays ps1 very well. So this setup is good for basically all other games besides sega.
@MarquisDeSang How true. I guess my dream is something purpose-specific/FPGA based. With the Fenrir out and all the work srg320 has done on the MiSTer core on the Saturn, its not totally out of the realm of possibility to combine the two and then expand upon it
Yeah these are old John Riggs does the trick but still needs more power to run generation 6 and onwards properly there are other cheaper better options out there wicked gamer and collector does these emulations devices
[solved] I cant get the saturn games to show up even if i just put my roms in the Saturn folder. How are you adding them? Do they need to be a particular format? Mine are bin/cue files in sub folder atm. When u say you took them oit of their own folder did u mean no sub folders? Yep folks no sub folders, but you still need both the bin and cue file. no cue file and the game has no music
I have found that the Aki wrestling games are rather hit and miss with the handheld emulators, it seems like you usually need one of the more powerful Android based devices over the Linux ones. On a side note... I really need to order a ROM of Chew Chew Mimic from you, so I can play that on my Odin Lite or PowKiddy X55. Be a great pick up game for a road trip in my car (that currently smells like Cherry Pie and Damn Fine Coffee).
It seems to be using Retroarch. That's how I've been able to get Virtual Boy working, actually. Not in 3D, of course. When I found out that Water World has a game on Virtual Boy, I felt like I woke up in a parallel universe, so I had to see what it is like. It's 3D Asteroids, pretty much. Water World for Virtual Boy is basically FPS Asteroids.
I can't get into handhelds, I have to play my consoles. I don't even like the Switch. I wish they would have made a TV only model. I've only played my Switch 5 times undocked at most and that's when the power went out.
i got one as well as the price was right for retro games! Found a little Easter Egg on mine for Ridge Racer on the PS1 section: Just before it loads it lets you play one life of Rally-X. Now after i die i find myself shutting down Ridge Racer & load it up again, just so i can play Rally-X all the time! Ha-Ha!!
stop parroting things. The blue ones that come with anbernic devices are decent and unlikely to fail, i've used the one that came with my rg280v for more than a year and it's still going strong
Grab yours amzn.to/43yocPv

I just bought this 4 days ago. Currently 3d printing a grip for it

Orderd one directly from Anbernic. CAN'T WAIT!!

Really?? GameCube? How does Pikmin perform FPS wise? Mine comes tomorrow and I'm SO excited. Didn't know GC games would run though!!
Yes tell us. Mine comes tomorrow
GameCube are you sure? I thought only the bigger 405 could run that
Think he's (likely) talking about a different handheld altogether. This particular one doesn't have Android which is required for a frontend like Daijisho
Mine is literally out for delivery right now!!! Let’s go!!!🔥🔥🔥
The n64 seems to be running better than my Polymega.😂

thanks for testing AKI wrestling!
this should mean the upcoming GBA-SP style device by Anbernic should play alright

It does have video output

Me, 9 seconds into this video: "OMG THE EXACT OBSCURE GAME THAT I WAS SEARCH FOR HOW TO ADD SATURN GAMES TO SPECIFICALLY PLAY!!!"
Thank you for the video John! I have a question, do you use a screen protector for this? I'm not using one myself but I often wonder if I should. Your input would be very helpful.
I didn't but this device came with a free screen protector
Hey Rigs! I was just listening to Retronauts Evercade episode and they give you a quick shout out for the award winning Chew Chew Mimic
I have the RG35XX Plus and am going to order this one on payday. I really enjoy getting my retro itch scratched with these. Great little devices.
There's better ones but they're more expensive, but they actually play later consoles more flawlessly.
Retroid pocket 4?
Retroid pocket 4?

It has 6 buttons, 4 on top and 4 triggers
@MarquisDeSang Ah! I didn't see the dual buttons on the triggers. Still, must feel a little awkward.

@@cloudff72000 like all mobile trash it is the worst way to play games. I have 2 switch and never used them in mobile form, always docked.

do i need to install a sega saturn emulator to play? i saw a saturn folder in the card, i put the rom in it, and it never shown in the system.
Can it really play Sega Saturn? Tried few games and didn't run ok even with frameskip
Yeah these are old John Riggs does the trick but still needs more power to run generation 6 and onwards properly there are other cheaper better options out there wicked gamer and collector does these emulations devices
The price is right! $89!
How did you manage to get the N64 games list to show up, I added some Roms to the folder etc but I cant even see the option to select the N64 category
The folder is there I forgot the name but one you put them in a n64 controller pops up in retro arch folder
@@Gvin-pt3nz yeah i got it all sorted now thank you
John I want you to remain calm. I'm not saying this to alarm you but somebody ran off with half of your head of hair.
username checks out.
@@JohnRiggs😂😂
Is this supposed to be a good joke or are you just autistic?
How solid does that device feel because I bought emulator devices in the past and one drop and they're done.
I bought an anbernic rg405x with an aluminum shell. It's solid.
@@jeremygreen2883 I wish they make cases for these things like an Autobox or something like that.Because I dropped things all the time

Nintendo should add the virtual boy to the online service!
Looks cool !
i put batocera on 2 of these. ps1 runs smooth
How do you get it to run smooth like that? I am playing the same game and using rice but I still can’t get it to run smoothly

i got one today for my birthday! i wonder if the roms would work on my steam deck
Sweet price
I can't see the thumbnail for some reason. Is that Champ?
Just snagged one for $45 looks like a steal!
Paid $28.73 for mine on TikTok shop. It's coming in tomorrow!!

No saturn gameplay at all on the videos.
