This is my best Rugby league weekend EVER. What a superb game, just a shame we lost, my bruv in law hired a ford galaxy and 6 of us travelled down, epic from start to finish
Sorry if I sound completely naive but I am genuinely SHOCKED at how little the players are paid considering what they do for a living. I didnt expect it to compete with football but I didn't think they would be on par with a school teacher etc
It's wrong to lump Barrow in with Workington and Whitehaven. It's a long way away, down the end of a peninsula and not even historically Cumbrian. It used to be in Lancashire. Yes, intense local rivalries apart, a club on the Cumbrian coast (let's call it Distington, shall we?) makes a lot of sense. But nobody's going to trek up there from Barrow.
