I love your diy. Very inspiring especially when it is impossible to buy stuff in my country. I have made a 2 kimono for my daughter now and love your tutorials. I hope you can do more sewing tutorials and tying obi for little girls.
Your videos are great! I really like that your explanations are easy to follow along and you voice is nice too. Please continue to make such great vidoes!
Hello Michaela! Thank you so much for your comment! Making UA-cam videos is a load of work, but I am really happy that there people out there like you, who appreciate it. 💖
Congratulations on your 500 subscribers!! Your videos are so easy to follow, and fun to watch. Keep up the good work. And, of course, I would be interested in the yonjuhimo 😃 Thank you again !
Thank you so much for your videos! Several of them have helped me with dressing before, because you show slowly and so clearly exactly what to do. And congratulations on 500 subscribers ^^V I look forward to trying this style for our festival at the end of August in Vancouver. Looking forward to your video on how to make my own 四重仮紐 as any order from Japan will not arrive here in time, and I love the idea of having obiage already there! Less pieces in an outfit! Please add me to your draw lots for your handmade himo, and have a beautiful day.
Stacey Auld hi! Sorry I apparently didn’t answer your comment (sorry)!! I hope you had mich fun at the festival on your yukata ❤️ my yonjūhimo won’t arrive in time, but I put your name into the lottery!
What for a big milestone with the 500 subscribers. A well deserved one and hopefully there will be even more, since thanks to you and your sweet videos, the vast world about Kimono is opened to the west even better and more precise than before. I would be honored to get the support of one of your Yonjuhimo to try out your tips and tutorials even better. =D
Aww.... thank you!! (Ok, now I started crying...) Your comment means a lot to me, you can't even imagine! You put my goal of this channel so precise into words!! Thank you so much again!!! I out your name in the lottery!! 💖
おめでとう! Thank you for being so committed to making great content Billy and congrats on the 500 subscribers! You deserve it 😁💐 I'm interested in the yonjuhimo as well 👀
Congratulation for your 500 subscribers!!! I would really looove to have such a cute yonjuhimo, furthermore from the person who made me interested in kimono ❤️ finger crossed!!
Thank you for all your videos! They're so helpful. :) Count me in for the yonjuhimo too, please. I would love to know how to make one instead of using 50 himo ties! LOL
@@BillyMatsunaga I use more like 5, LOL, depending on the musubi, of course. But it feels like 50. 😂 My husband helps me because I have rheumatoid arthritis and lack the hand strength needed to tie obi properly. :) It never occurred to me to make my own sanjuhimo (which I'm familiar with) and I don't wear kimono nearly as often as I would like. :(
xTureliex hahaha! Yes, I could imagine that 50 ties was metaphorical 😊 5 ties is quite a lot! It should feel like 100! But it’s really nice that your husband helps you ❤️
Congratulations on your 500 subscribers! I love how you made the yonjuhimo functional as an obiage, it is both stylish and functional! I am sure if you decided to sell them people would be interested. I'm looking forward to your upcoming videos, thank you as always for your hard work!
Thank you!!! It was a small idea I was coming up with a few months ago. I was surprised how easy it was to make. We'll see if it'll ever be sold, but I'll try. Thank you so much for the support!!
Thank you for the video! You are such a great teacher. I am going to be wearing my yukata at a festival here in Minneapolis, MN USA this Sunday for my birthday and I have been using your videos to practice dressing myself. They have been so, so helpful. I cannot even tell you. Thank you so much. You are a blessing.
Oh, I'm about to cry! Thank you so much for your sweet comment! This means a lot to me. I hope you will have wonderful birthday and don't forget to share pictures (even if you send it just to me in a DM on Instagram! ☺️)
How do you know what color to choose for obi and the obi ropes? I feel like when I show them my Yukata and kimono of purple and pinks they end up recommending very bright fushia pink and purple.
Hello!! I don’t know if you have checked my latest video, but you won the lottery!!! ❤️ Please send me an e-mail (kouunji.biri@gmail.com) with your address and name.
Yaay! Congratulations on your 500 subscribers! I am happy because everytime I watch your videos, I am getting motivated to learn more 😊(っ'-')╮ =͟͟͞͞❤And I would also be glad to have your yonju himo for practicing some obi designs especially this obi musubi! 😍😍😍😍😍
Oh, thank you! Ah, this is the best compliment to receive. Thank you!!! A yonjuhimo will definitely help you to brush up your obi musubi skills with some more cute styles. :)
You've probably learned it by now, but for anyone wondering it from this point forward, you have to use a collar stiffener (erishin), billy shows it being put into her juban (under kimono) in her "getting started with kimono" video at about the 4:48 mark, if you watch her "how to put on a yukata" video, it appears she's slid it into the collar of the yukata itself when she holds it up at about the 4:37 mark
That's a super cute style and I love the contrasting fabrics for the obi.
I love this hanhaba. Sooo cute.
I’ve been seeing way too many people wearing this at matsuri this year and i was so curious about it- so glad you made this video!

I got to wondering if this musubi has a name?? If not we could call it "Old Town Road" since that was the biggest song in the summer of 2019! XD
