What a superb fantastic instrument, if I had that keyboard I would be playing it all day and forget to eat! I love those phasing ep sounds and the organ Leslie rotary effects, the pianos, DX synths everything retro all in one place. That 'It's Christmas' wow, beautiful soundscape Kono, really atmospheric! 😊

Love this demo! I have the CK-88, much different keybed feel but identical controls layout & engine. I almost got the CK61 for its beautiful sounds, low weight and wonderful portability, but I needed a fixed studio instrument, so went with the CK88 and have no regrets.
The 61 is mini and fun for home use if you don't have space. But for me, I like a larger type with a light key pressure. I also don't understand why Yamaha only made the MINI 61 and then the large 88. I thought I'd get that 8, but it has a heavy key pressure. It's all about my peeling pleasure. When I perform and I'm careful not to hide my keyboard, I better stay at home. I need the space to play so I go for a large model. If this one doesn't come, I'll go for another brand, which is a pity because the 61 is great, too bad it's so small.

Very nice, especially in a compact 61 note format. The Roland V-Combo VR-09B has been out several years and still a great keyboard for, I believe about $1200. I little more. I would prefer the Roland, but I plan to get the new Roland FP-E50 in a few months. It has 88 keys, 256 note polyphony, and the same price as this Yamaha CK61, and a whole lot more. But it sounds great being played by you.

I think you've sold me between the CK61 and the YC61 (and I can save a grand). Egads those Rhodes are to die for. I already have the CP88 so I have plenty of great piano and Rhodes. I just needed something with better organ (the organ's on the CP88 are really lackluster).
Thank you so much! The built-in speaker has the ability to be used as a monitor for yourself, but I think it can be used for a little play with friends. When placing it on the table, it is important to set the table EQ. Also, if you turn up the sound of the Rhodes piano at the table, the instrument may make a buzzing sound.
God, if I hear one more organ demo without a swell pedal, I’m gonna hurl! The swell pedal is integral to how the Hammond works, the more accurately you model the B3, the more you see how non-linear it is. The swell pedal isn’t just there to shade and make dynamics (as important as those are!) but also to tame the beast as you play up or down the keyboard. PLEASE use an expression/swell pedal when using modeled B3’s… Really liked the pianos, Yamaha always do well here. It felt like the demonstrator was underplaying the Rhodes to avoid that higher velocity jump in timbre (heard it pop out a few times without an obvious spank). The smoothness that the higher velocities blend into the middle range makes or breaks sampled Rhodes, Wurli etc. Speaking of Wurlitzer, wish he would have demoed that and the Clav’s. A lot of people will be looking at this as a poor man’s Nord Electro. I am digging the throwback drawbar knobs, brings fond memories of my old CS60, even if linear and not hinged! 😊 But no 73/76? Odd for Yamaha to miss out on a size still useful for pianists who don’t have stage space or strength to lug around an 88…
Normally synths or stage keyboards with a/c adaptors don't have the same pro sound quality of keyboards with built-in power supplies. This has no reasonable ground, except from experience. But I would give the CK-series the benefit of the doubt, since I haven't heard it in realtime.
The video of Musictrackjp has a better sound quality than this video, so I can get a better view of the soundquality. But I also listened to the sounds of the CP-series and they definatily sound deeper and more dynamic.
How does the action/touch of this Yamaha CK61 compare to the Casio CT-S1 action/touch? And which one do you like more, and why? :) Thank you very much! (PS. Merry Christmass! :))
I rather like the CK61's FSB keyboard because it's more comfortable to play. The CT-S1 is also a good keyboard, but I think the spring force is a little strong🎹 Merry Christmas! ! ☺
My CT-S1 arrived just a few days ago, and I really like it's sounds, I can see now why you like the E Piano sound :), it not only sounds great but also feels really nice to play, significantly easier to controll loudness-dynamics--wise too (compared to the Stage Piano patch at least) it's a great keyboard patch. I am still getting used to the CT-S1 light action, but I discover a little "cheating" how can I make it somewhat less "occasional-loud-notes-jump-out". 1.) I press and hold the Function button 2.) I press the lowest E note 2 times (while still holding pressed the Function button) 3.) a release the Function button This applies a "mellow EQ", and it cuts out some frequencies that are mostly in the fortissimo audio samples, the beauty/realism aspect of the sound reduces a little bit, but the experience of the touch/control/playability increases considerably. This of course doesn't change the velocity programming, but it still gives the impression/feeling/touch/experience of a little bit more controllable sound. Another tip you might like too ia that if you need a piano case for both the CT-S1, CT-S1000V and CK61, then you should check out the video on the "Piano Tone" channel titled "Yamaha SC-DE61 Gig Bag (Yamaha CK61)". This is the exact title so you can just copy it into the UA-cam search bar and it should pop up as a top result. I hope this helps, and thank you so much for you reply/help! :)
(PS. If you want to change back to the original EQ (from the "mellow EQ") instes of pressing the lowest E note 2 times, press the lowest E note, and then the lowest C note.)

It uses the FSB (Future System Basic) keybed, which I think was/is used in their SX arranger keyboards. It allows for more expressive play compared to the MODX which is designed for synth style riffs.

Yes, we can apply modulation effects with the foot pedal. It is possible by selecting ”Setting - Controller - Foot Pedal 2 - Assign - Modulation(1)”. Unfortunately, there are no 76-key or 73-key versions of the CK series. I would also like a version with 76 keys.☺
I just recently bought one of these paid 800. For it dont think it is worth 300. Great functions but sounds cheap like a radio shack keyboard that cost 150. Dollars
How does the new CK88 compare to MODX8+...?? Is it worth getting MODX over CK88...? In my place CK88 is ~1200 USD whereas MODX8+ is ~1800 USD. Difficult choice 😅 Edit: CK61 is only ~780 USD here which is very tempting...!! 🤤
I can comment on the CK61 and the MODX6 that I once owned. MODX is better if you want to create deep synth sounds. On the other hand, if you want easy layering of preset sounds, compactness, and built-in speakers, the CK is the way to go. If you give top priority to what you want to do, I think you can lead a happy musical instrument life☺♪
The CK61 can be connected to a DAW via USB by downloading and installing the latest Steinberg USB Driver from the YAMAHA website. It is necessary to check the suitable environment on the Yamaha website.
@@reinnner5964 The CK61 tone generator is recognized as an external MIDI tone generator by the DAW. I haven't used kontakt yet, but virtual instruments are attractive because they allow you to create in detail.☺
I bought a CK61 and it has the worst key action of any product I have ever owned. The keys feel as if there is a pressure hinge under each key. There is a key resistance initially and then the key resistance is overcome and the key goes down. When playing medium velocity broken chords in a ballad suddenly the key just barks at full volume. Then when playing staccato on non decaying sounds like trumpet, there is a key bounce / note retrigger. I have sent videos to Yamaha about this and waiting for an outcome. Yamaha are going to need to fix the key action on the CK61. Other forums are filling up with people complaining about the key action.
Thank you for your important information. The CK61 I bought is smooth, and the key comes off so easily that you can say that there is no resistance at all. Therefore, although it is a light touch keyboard, I feel that it is very comfortable to play solo piano. The velocity curve is also smooth, and I've never had the experience of suddenly playing at full volume. I think you are correct in contacting Yamaha. I sincerely hope that it will be improved as soon as possible.

そうです♪ 3/17発売になったキーボードですね。実際、触れてみて直感的で分かりやすく，CK61のキーボードはとても弾きやすいです♪ CK88も内容が同じで、スピーカーも内蔵していますし、88鍵を探している人にはとても良い選択肢だと思います🎹😀

RefaceYCやCPシリーズの音が気に入っていて、実はこの半年、買おうか検討していたのですが、RefaceYCのオルガンの音が入っていて、CPの音の一部も入ったCK61が出たので、即決でした♪
CFX Monoという音色がありますが、音の広がりは無くなりますが、音のキャラクターはあまり変わらないと感じます。
ちなみに小さな現場やバンドでの演奏は、ピアノの定位を広げすぎると音がまとまらなくなるので、Monoで送る（または定位を狭めて送る）ことが多いですね♪

Thank you! I have owned MODX6 for half a year. The key action is different from MODX6. I prefer the CK61.
It uses the FSB (Future System Basic) keybed, which I think was/is used in their SX arranger keyboards. It allows for more expressive play compared to the MODX which is designed for synth style riffs.

演奏素晴らしいですね。
ただ、製品としてはピアノ音色、とても綺麗な音で打鍵の胴鳴りの感じも再現されているんだけど、伸ばしている時の減衰までの音が直線的で揺らぎが無さすぎるのがちょっと気になってしまいました。無味無臭な感じというか、生楽器っぽくなくて機械感があるというか。音程的には正確なんでしょうけど。実際のピアノはこういう響きじゃないなあって。

How can I send audio to different outputs in split mode? for example, convert bass sound to left channel, piano sound to right channel to stereo?
Thank you for the question. I don't think it's possible with the CK61 to assign bass and piano sounds separately to the left and right. Or I don't currently know how.
How are the keys on it compaired to weighted keys for piano sounds?

It can trigger a musical accompaniment from an mp3 on a usb stick though and you can set a different mp3 for different saved presets.

ｐシリーズもそうですが今のヤマハのデジピのエレピにはベル成分多めのRHODESとベル成分多めのFMエレピ音色しか搭載されていなくて いわゆる王道のソフトRHODESとDXEP（DX7の11番のあれ）は入っていないのでエレピ重視していると買いにくいんですよね。唯一それが入っているのが27000円のピアジェーロっていう現実がいかにエレピが欲しければYC CPかモンタージュ系を買えと言わんばかりで。CKがそういう状況を打開するきっかけになるのか気になります。
じゃあYC CPモンタージュ買えばいいじゃんってことですがそもそもそのクラスはすでに何台か使っていると買い換えにはプラスアルファが欲しい それが内蔵スピーカーというわけです。やはり外部モニターか内蔵かは大きな差がありますよね。
ピアジェーロも使っていますが実はこれが音の鳴りと鍵盤の振動はピカイチで音色もエレピは申し分ないんです。しかし鍵盤が速びきはうまい人しか許さないシビアな鍵盤なのが悩ましいです。3センサーだったらいいのですが。あと同時発音数がレイヤーだとたまに音切れするので少ないです。
でも寝室やキッチンのお供に最高。
というわけで個人的にピアジェーロの高級版が欲しいのですが今回のCKは果たして・・・スピーカーの振動はP125あたりに近くて振動するけどビンビンに感じるほどではないかな？CK61はピアジェーロなみに振動するか？FSB鍵盤はFS鍵盤とフィーリングが似ているのか？も気になっています。
共感できる点が多くありますね♪ CK61のピアノ系音色、スピーカー、鍵盤のテーマに絞ったコンテンツを作ることが皆さんのお役に立てるかもしれないと思いました。順次検討していきます🎹
Can the modulation effect be done with a foot pedal? Any 76 key version?
Yes, we can apply modulation effects with the foot pedal. It is possible by selecting ”Setting - Controller - Foot Pedal 2 - Assign - Modulation(1)”.
Unfortunately, there are no 76-key or 73-key versions of the CK series. I would also like a version with 76 keys.☺
Is that running through the onboard speakers only?
I play only with the CK61's built-in speaker. Recording is done by connecting CK61's LINEOUT to ZOOM's L-12.

I just recently bought one of these paid 800. For it dont think it is worth 300. Great functions but sounds cheap like a radio shack keyboard that cost 150. Dollars

How does the new CK88 compare to MODX8+...?? Is it worth getting MODX over CK88...? In my place CK88 is ~1200 USD whereas MODX8+ is ~1800 USD. Difficult choice 😅

I can comment on the CK61 and the MODX6 that I once owned. MODX is better if you want to create deep synth sounds. On the other hand, if you want easy layering of preset sounds, compactness, and built-in speakers, the CK is the way to go.
If you give top priority to what you want to do, I think you can lead a happy musical instrument life☺♪

Can I use ck61's internal sound to make a music in Logic(DAW)? If it can, do you know how to connect? need to audio interface to connect?
The CK61 can be connected to a DAW via USB by downloading and installing the latest Steinberg USB Driver from the YAMAHA website. It is necessary to check the suitable environment on the Yamaha website.

@@reinnner5964 The CK61 tone generator is recognized as an external MIDI tone generator by the DAW. I haven't used kontakt yet, but virtual instruments are attractive because they allow you to create in detail.☺

I bought a CK61 and it has the worst key action of any product I have ever owned.
The keys feel as if there is a pressure hinge under each key. There is a key resistance initially and then the key resistance is overcome and the key goes down.
When playing medium velocity broken chords in a ballad suddenly the key just barks at full volume.
Then when playing staccato on non decaying sounds like trumpet, there is a key bounce / note retrigger.
I have sent videos to Yamaha about this and waiting for an outcome.
Yamaha are going to need to fix the key action on the CK61. Other forums are filling up with people complaining about the key action.

The CK61 I bought is smooth, and the key comes off so easily that you can say that there is no resistance at all. Therefore, although it is a light touch keyboard, I feel that it is very comfortable to play solo piano. The velocity curve is also smooth, and I've never had the experience of suddenly playing at full volume.
I think you are correct in contacting Yamaha. I sincerely hope that it will be improved as soon as possible.
