    Great work! Making me think about canceling my Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra system, but I think I'll go ahead with the Ecoflow system at this point.

    I just recently came across your channel. Observations, you are very talented and also have an incredible skill for instructing to even including reference to the sources of the products you are using. Are you an engineer? I notice your workmanship details and frankly you are much better than the workmanship I have seen from licensed electricians. A little harsh, professional electricians I fully understand are driven by time and profit, you have the advantage of time and no income incentive because you are only doing one time. Example putting insulating bushings on the ends of your conduits to prevent wire chafing. My question: why did you decide on the Bluetti batteries vs Enphase 5P batteries to keep the system homogeneous? If you had installed Enphase IQ8A inverters you would still used the Bluetti batteries? I may have answered my own question.

      I appreciate that. For most Enphase users they will probably go with Enphase batteries. However, I like to explore all the options and always challenge the status quo. I am very happy with the Bluetti EP800 and B500 batteries. If I were starting from scratch and I was not backfeeding the grid I would only use the EP800 and B500 batteries. Bluetti does offer an EP900 that could back feed to the grid, maybe someday I will try that out :) Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

    I was hoping it had better management for Grid-Tied Micro Inverters. because a lot of those use Powerline communication. So i would have been good to have a system that can track and monitor your solar production as well as knowing how much of your solar production is actually going into the battery packs vs coming from the Grid.
    It feels that with most products, if you want true home backup and better management, you need to go with a DC Coupler Solar system to the Hybrid Inverter. That would give you the clearest management of storage vs production.
    The only unit i have seen that seems to manage it the best is the EP Cube. Because it's gateway has a separate input for AC Solar and other power generation options. The next closest one is the Tesla Powerwall.
    With this Bluetti solution, it appears that the Ep900 is the Inverter and the "Gateway". But that is why he has a separate sub-panel for essential loads.
    BUT there is one problem with this setup though, if the GRID does go down, the main AC Coupled solar array will go Offline. Meaning that the batteries will only charge with the DC Coupled solar panels (the test rig) and not from the large rig.
    I am looking for a battery option that is compatible with my grid-tied micro inverters where i can leverage it as a whole home backup but allow Solar to charge the system when the grid is down. I want the ability to be Semi-Off Grid if needed.

      If you have IQ8's vs. my IQ7's, you would be able to charge the batteries in a grid down situation with the existing system without a DC backup array. I love having the dual option of AC and DC coupling. Peace of mind during those periods of time where we might get 5 days of complete cloud cover. Although AC coupling is not the most efficient method, it does have its place.

    You can parallel your Hoymiles Microinverters and forget about the PV inputs to the EP800.

    Great video. I've got mine ready for installation, once my electrician schedules all the 240V work. This is very helpful and made it less complicated than I thought it might be. Like you say, no plan is perfect, but I feel confident that we'll get it all done and working in short order. I don't have the solar array yet. That's for later this year. So for now it's just going to be a UPS. Looking forward to adding solar when that time comes, and put my essential circuits on renewable energy. Would you please do a follow-up video? I'd like to know what circuits you have on the subpanel, how much current they draw, and whether your solar array keeps up with demand. That would help my planning for the solar portion immensely. Thanks!

      @@JustinsProject I hope you don't mind a question. My electrician is coming tomorrow to do all the 240V and subpanel work. I got all the rest set up today -- battery connections, communication cables, etc. It was easy to see where the grounding cable would go from battery 1 to battery 2 (I have two batteries, unlike your 3). But it was not apparent where a grounding cable would go from battery 2 to the inverter unit. And the installation manual that came with the system is remarkably vague on this point, given how detailed it is in other respects. Watching your video, I could see you ground batt. 1 to 2 and 2 to 3, but it didn't seem like you connected a grounding cable from 3 to the inverter unit. Correct?

    Advice please. I need 15kwh a day to power for power outages that can last from a couple hours to a few days. I'm in Michigan so my solar hours is 4.48, 1,278 Kwh per 1Kw, says need 4.24 Kwh array
    I'm looking at a 400w, 36v panel, says output DC 39V, 10.25a max, transfer efficiency greater or equal to 21%
    A MPPT Charge controller of 100a, says 12/24/36/48v Auto, Max Input 100v. Max charging current 100a. Max Input volts of panels should be 30v-45v (for 24v battery). Max Input power of panels should be 2000w. Output voltage DC5v/1.5a
    Inverter of 4000w/8000w Peak, Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter, DC24v-AC110
    And Battery is LiTime 24v 100Ah, LifeP04 Lithium Ion, Build-in 100a BMS, 2,560 Wh Energy. Up to 4P2S (don't know what that means) 48v battery 400Ah of 20.48 Kwh
    It's only 1000sq' apartment, 2bd/2ba. Old Kenmore Fridge, elec range, micro, dishwasher (which I'd forgo during an outage), a couple computers and tvs, wifi, lights, a mini-fridge, that's about it. No washer/dryer and if I did use my hair dryer, it's 5 mins or less, but I don't use it every day (and my housemate is bald). For obvs. reasons I wanna keep the heat on and the fridge. We'd unplug things we don't need for a few days, but I'll stick with what we've averaged over the last year anyway just to be safe at the 15Kwh a day.
    Am I on the right track here? Too much, too little, just right? Any part of this not work with another or could be downgraded? Any part if it I don't need? Anything I do that's not here? Thanks for your time!

      15kWh a day is a reasonable figure for most consumers. I assume the heat is nat. gas. Because my electric furnace will use 15kWh in about 1 hour.

    Too bad I wouldn't come with 6 batteries. It would be good if you could have you hook up 6 batteries instead of just 4 batteries. Do not make that a perfect machine, but then again they do get the AC 900.
    And that comes with a lot more batteries. I understand that definitely electrician for as well. Of course, I know you can pair 3 of those inverters up, but each of them have their batteries for batteries. That is 12 batteries with 3 generators. That is a great machine then as well, that way, but I still wish it would be. I don't have six Batteries to each one.
