I put a long piece of Para cord above the stand to haul my bow up. The end has a simple 4" loop on it. The cord ends about 4.5 feet above ground level. To attach the bow I simply thread the loop behind the grip but above the cable guard and then loop it over the stabilizer. Once there is pressure on the cord the bow will hang upside down as you pull it up the tree. Once you have the bow in hand just slip the loop off of the stabilizer and back between the grip and the cables and it is free. No metal clips or scratched cams etc.
I fell out last year taking that first step onto the stand. My backpack I was wearing got hung up in a small tree thus stopping my fall! I was still able to grab my steps luckily!!! Tethered the whole way from here on out!!!!
Your videos are awesome. The one time I fell was from about 3 feet. I was rushing it to climb a tree and slipped on the bottom steps, and fell flat on my back. I was very lucky not to get hurt I could’ve landed on a rock or hit a tree with my head I’ve watched most of them. I am an older guy almost 60 and never climb without the safety line. I bought them for my brothers and son. I’ve always tried to hunt at at least 18 to 20 feet. I really think it gives me an advantage with my smell and movement so the safety lines offer a lot more security.👍
I used to make a point to check the umbilical on my old summit viper climber. One time, it saved my ass. Even with my safety harness from work, I felt strange that day. The bottom dropped out on me during ascent and, by the grace of God, I was blessed with enough core and arm strength to hold myself up and have my legs hook that cord and get it back up to me. I decided I was done using climbers. Just this year I got in on a deal for a saddle I'd considered a while before and I'm feeling far more confident with it.
I do tree work on the side and am familiar with climbing concepts and gear. Some of the prusik ropes that come with safety lines are not very safe and I don’t recommend using them. The prusik rope should not be stiff, rather very pliable.
Not that's a tough question Dylan...depends on neighbors and location. Usually 1, at most maybe 2. If you are adjacent to unhunted public land that you can hunt, then it may be that 1/2 the land could be a food plot!
I’m getting ready to leave my binos home.Seems like I get busted letting them down🤷🏻I had pretty good success last fall from a stand that was 8 feet to the bottom.I moved that stand the day before about 40 yards because of the wind.Next morning rattled in a nice one.Didnt get him.But got pictures of him yesterday .Glad I didn’t get him😳
Jeff, how can we tell the difference between the OG 2750 and the other variations of it? I am looking to buy one, are the others a different model number?
Great stand tips, Jeff! I had a really nice 8pt hit my vine scrape setup this morning. The bad thing is his G2 is broken and just dangling as he's hitting the vine. Do you think it'll just fall off or turn to a drop?
I’m hunting a 20acre pasture with small pockets of woods in the back corners that buts up to several hundred acres of cover. I have clover planted in the most hidden corner next to the woods but the farmer usually does his last cutting in August. What can I plant as a compliment to the clover
It's tough to say not knowing all of the variables, but clover is more of an early to mid season planting. Complimenting your clover with a brassica blend may be the way to go!
I won't climb a stand without a lifeline... it's not the fall that hurts you... it's the sudden stop as you hit the ground! I'm 62 now and have used lifelines since they came out. Ya young and dumb I never thought about it, but I do now because you just never know what can happen in a heartbeat.

I've finally got a saddle! Really excited about it

Thanks Jeff, have you considered doing a couple videos on how you prepare your venison? I’d watch
That's a great idea ..thank you!!

You have to tie the cord where there no extra slack past what you need to climb
Life lines are great please use them

How would you hunt a solar panel farm
I would use it like a big swamp, lake, subdivision or parking lot ..where there are no deer. Access along side it, blow my scent into it, etc.
Hey Jeff how many food plots should be on 5 acres in big woods

Thanks Jason!
Man that's weird if it's dangling I would imagine he was hit by a car?
I'm not sure he doesn't look like he's limping
Which of your pwb blends would you say could still be planted right in the middle of august? Upper MN land btw
Are any of the perennial blends still viable?
Really liked how snooth and precise the 2750 was. But went back to Solo after 2 of my Earthways gears stripped out. Nice seeder though
Funny how things change. Back in the day i never wore a saftey harness or anything. Now i dont hunt with out it

65 years old now. Just installed a hunter safety life line. Can’t believe I hunted without it all these years. Stupid!!!!
Man that's so awesome Tommy...really happy for you! And your family 😊
Just say no to clickbait arrows!
