After the masterpiece of the F8X carbon fiber strut bar, anything would have a hard act to follow, but this is just bad. Normally fit and finish with BMWs is excellent, but the G8X strut bar is just bad. The lumpy welds just kill me, and with the new G87 M2, I knew it had to go!
The solution is the fantastic carbon fiber strut bar from Kies Motorsports! It adds functionality, but also looks so much better! The install is easy and only takes a few simple tools!
    Required parts and tools:

To me, one of my biggest disappointments between the F8X and the G8X. The change from a beautiful OEM Carbon Brace vs that new metal one.
On the other hand, you need “Dress Up Bolts” times ASAP!! 😂😂😂

Funny.. you read my mind! The kit is here and installed soon

@@BMWDIYGuy 😬😬😬 I was just watching all the bolts while you were uninstalling the old and installing the new brace and I thought “He just need Dress Up Bolts but now!!” 🤣

Slight nuance. You say the brace "isn't good" but what you mean is "doesn't look good". On that we agree, but it could be confusing to people. There's nothing wrong functionality wise with the stock brace. It is ugly, and probably heavy (neither is a good thing). But it definitely gets the job done.

Fair point yes.. its works, but man it is ugly.

@@BMWDIYGuy 100% agreed. It's ugly by itself, but especially in comparison to the one from the F8X. I love the one from the CSL but man, the price....

What’s the weight of the OEM brace and the aftermarket one ?

GREAT question and if I can find an answer I will track that down. I will say there is a difference as the CF is much lighter than the OEM setup just by feel alone.
