Reel Michigan Anglers is a collection of Michigan Outdoors Videos made by real Michigan Fisherman. Not professional anglers but average guys on their quest to catch as many epic fish as possible. Michigan fishing flows through my veins like water flows through Michigan rivers and I enjoy sharing my Michigan fishing adventures with you all in the form of educational and entertaining fishing videos. I love fishing for all species in all bodies of water but have a particular passion for Michigan river fishing. Fishing Michigan rivers has brought me so much joy and excitement and my zen place is me standing in a river with a fishing rod in my hands. I am not in this for the fame or the attention my goal is to help other fisherman grow and learn with me and to get paid to fish which I do now thanks to all of you lovely viewers. Thanks to your support I will continue to bring you many more Michigan. fishing videos! I will be Fishing Michigan 2021 and making more fishing videos for your enjoyment!

I find it interesting that your videos show steelhead and salmon caught with a variety of baits. Not knocking the other channels but it seems that many focus on only one method to catch these fish. You provide a good reminder in the respect that we fishermen sometimes get in a rut by using one method we find comfortable.
Yea just recently I started catching salmon on hair jigs for the first time. If you know there are fish in a hole sometimes picking the right presentation is key but other times they just smash any random thing you toss if you work it correctly. Spinners beads and jigs are top contenders but I catch salmon and
Steelhead on crank baits, minnows worms and even dead cut bait lol. Presentation, timing and location are certainly important as well as persistence and of course quality lures, rods lines and reels lol
@@ReelMichiganAnglers Thanks for the excellent response you shared!
@@michaelkolacz4449 my pleasure :)
I came across of your channel Great content great video love it!! 😉👍🎣
Thanks for the feedback! Glad you found us :)
I think its hilarious your friends keep catching your spinners lol
Yea it’s a theme at this point lol
Great video guys!
Thanks my man! We gonna get after em soon?
Dammm good show!!
Thanks man! Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time with the right preparation. :)
Very nice
Thanks!
The fish with ADHD was awesome!!!
Just like me lol
Great video. I just go my Okuma Ceymar C-40 today. Still deciding on the rod. Okuma SST 9 1/2' or Ugly Stik Elite. Swaying more towards the SST though
Both are solid options. But I would probably go with the sst between the 2.
Sst
Nice video! What is the percentage of snags you get in the smaller streams with those spinners? I know a single hook reduces snags vs a treble hook.
Single hook ups a lot I hardly ever lose any honestly. Unless you hook up and it runs you into a log jam lol.
Yeah. Ive been wound up in a few log jams lol.@@ReelMichiganAnglers
@@scottwinslow940 it goes with the territory. I have definitely bounce the spinners off of logs that have eaten many of my other Lewers in the past I have run the spinners over the backs of salmon without hooking dorsal fins as well. But when they get bit the hooks stick the vast majority of the time.
The grand?
What part of the mitten are you at?
I typically stick to central west Michigan, unless I have time to travel
@@ReelMichiganAnglers I appreciate how you give a general idea of where you're at, there's another couple youtubers who just say "Michigan"....like we get that but you can you give us more some general context so we have an idea of where to research fishing spots
@@DarkKnight-dq7ek I would love nothing more than to just tell you all all the honey holes, but then I would get murdered, and all of my fishing spots would be packed every time lol
What type of rod is that?
NTX1145 9'6", 2 piece, 10-25lb Spinning Rod with Carbon Fiber Grip
Hate to ask but is this spot private I been to the piers but no bite alot of boats keep riding bye I wanna catch at least 1 before 2023 ends 😅😢
Shoot me a pm on social media or email I’ll thow ya a bone.
what size spinner were you using?
These are all size 4
is that an Okuma Ceymar reel?
Yes sir. Good eye. Good reel imo too.
@@ReelMichiganAnglers awesome! i’ve been looking into getting one they seem pretty decent for the money. What mainline do you have on it?
@@TagAndBagEm yea good investment. I like it better than the pfluger president reels these days. I. I am running 12 pound P line I believe it’s the CFX I can never remember for sure. I have also run 20lb braid on this reel. No problem with either.
@@TagAndBagEm ua-cam.com/video/FpXBDzQYx0U/v-deo.htmlsi=25EbSjWsgMeURvGv
Here is my review video for the reel.
@@ReelMichiganAnglers i appreciate the reply, i’ve been using the Pfluger President for the last 2 years. i think im going to switch to the Okuma, thanks again for the response have a good night
Can I buy spinners for local pick up?
Yep on the website there is a local pickup option. We can do a porch pickup in north or south lansing or I can drop it off at grand river bait and tackle.
@@ReelMichiganAnglers ok thanks
@@Fishing_with_bufu thank you!
It shouldn’t have broke off, 8lb leader. That’s funny
Yea I think the fish found a useful stick in that cut bank. :(
What type of rod is that?
This is the nova tackle spinning rod.
@@ReelMichiganAnglers do you use mono with a flouro leader when casting spinners or just straight mono
@@toniradloff6445 12 pound mono with an eight or 10 pound fluorocarbon leader is generally what I do. If it’s not too cold, I will use straight braid also and then you generally don’t need the Flurocarbon leader unless you’re fishing really clear little water on a sunny day. Historically speaking, I have used bread more but I am starting to prefer the extra stretch you get from the mono filament main line. It makes it easier to keep the line tight and absorbs shock.
