Machinery Pete I think I might have a farmall H that was one of the first to roll of the line in 1950, how can I tell by looking at serial number?

Since this is one owner, it probably is actual hours. But those tachometers on those John Deeres from the 1950's were famous for breaking and often many hours would get put on the tractor before they were fixed and working again. Also, sometimes they would put a new tachometer on the tractor when they would overhaul the engine. So if you were buying one at, say, a consignment auction, where you didn't know the history of the tractor, the hours shown might not be anywhere close to the actual hours. But like I said, since this one is one owner, it's probably accurate.
More impressive? Only 6000 miles.
