Sup BE, I would encourage you to use a different source for the history of neoliberalism, David Harvey's book is probably not even top 5 for that. Something like The Road from Mont Pelerin by Mirowski & Plehwe, Globalists by Quinn Slobodian, The Political Theory of Neoliberalism by Thomas Biebricher, or even The Great Persuasion by Angus Burgin or Undoing the Demos by Wendy Brown would be better options. Love your work.
@@BadEmpanada appreciate the response. I'm not saying it's a bad choice, just that there's accounts that include the history of the intellectual tradition informing neoliberalism which, I would argue, then offer a better and more comprehensive definition of neoliberalism, as well as the varying sects within neoliberalism.
As someone who watches Johnny Harris' videos, this opened my eyes to something: I keep watching "informative" content without actually paying attention and thinking about what I'm watching. 39:43 Bengal was famous for the production of muslin - a special type of luxury fabric which was produced by skilled weavers with handloom. The British colonizers rounded up those weavers and cut off their thumbs for the 'crime' of the competition in the textile market. Handmade muslin was gone forever. The British also tortured the farmers and forced them produce indigo in their fields instead of rice or food crop so that British textile industry gets steady supply of indigo while Bengal suffered famine. Just a few example of the 'genius' of liberalism that lead to the 'great western industrialization'....
When commies came to power in bengal they literally commited genocide on hindu immigrant from Bangladesh- most of them were lower caste who were promised by cpim that they would be liberated from oppression if they voted them and they held their promise for their part. They also manipulated death toll making it seemed that only 2-8 people died.classic commie move They literally raped unicef/who member giving some laughable excuse of them suspecting that they kidnapped a child. They left west bengal but the political violence that they created never left us. Imagine being opressed by some foreigners but after independence being still oppressed by our own people
Imagine telling the history of relationships between China and Europe and never mentioning opium. Like, it's the one thing everyone can inmediately remember about it.
Which itself also serves as a good example of the older colonial era of global-captalism. With Britain essentially crippling China by illegally flooding it with opium. And also using colonized India as the primary source of opium production. The en masse forced labour for opium, contributed to repeated widespreas famines across India, resulting in the deaths of tens of millions of people. Britain completely devasting two countries for the sake of "finding untapped markets" might be a little inconvenient for Harris' angle.
@@MrOzzification You could add how promoting the paper industry pushed them into processing rice, and loosing their main source of protein and vitamin B, resulting in famines and thousands of deads.

I saw Chairman Mao Zedong at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

What's kinda worrying honestly is he uses the same "controlling the narrative" tactics right wing grifters use but for neoliberal ends instead, which I'm sure could be argued are two sides of the same coin.
Wise words. And very accurate, especially for someone such as myself? I have narcolepsy, so I literally need to catch myself almost falling asleep, Stop/pause and then resume watching the following day! Just as I've done with this video! Most big UA-camrs do this these days for quick cash, such as Jake Tran. He said it best himself, he doesn't care about correct information as long as it gets views and bring in money. Even the scammer detectives type of youtubers are doing scams themselves. Everythning in this world is about money after all.
When I watch those videos I often rewind them a lot because I feel like I missed some context or a step in reasoning, but BE demonstrates that vagueness is by design. The informative aesthetic and speech/rhetoric pattern signifies that this is important and deep information so even naturally more critical viewers may assume they missed some details and rewind before realizing the details simply aren't there, that the video is over produced and shallow
I unsubscribed him when he denied the g3ncid3 in Gaza in a short which he deleted after getting called out for it. He's a PoS pretending to "help" people by "educating" them
Exactly! Mussolini's whole idea was that all of the nation are basically stakeholders in said nation, and that what actually comprises the fascist state is the various institutions ran by nationhood-conscious "stakeholders." Being conscious of the nation in this case is simply substituted with consciousness towards a vague idea of "global society"
Harris is basically able to get away with making these sort of unsourced claims because they come up verbatim in American textbooks (which are also totally controlled by "stakeholder capitalist" neoliberal firms (falsely labeled non-profits) who employ identical tactics to Harris's video (meager concessions to undeniable fact to appeal to nuance for example, or infantile narratives which are slowly peeled back by contradictions but never leave the minds of the viewer). All of these claims might sound like rapid fire outrageous claims to anyone living outside of the West, but all a westerner thinks is "yeah, I think remember that from school." The school system basically conditions people to eat videos like these up, since most teaching is done outside of primary sources by a non-professional pedagogue repeating what they learned from a trainer, like the world's worst game of telephone, with no sources but their own authority worth $16/hour.
As an American citizen, this is accurate. I realized that a lot of the books and generally what we learned, was extremely privy to Neoliberalism. It always felt off.
E.g. Burning all the buildings that make the public question the history they were forced fed in school and to perpetuate the rubbish claims! It's actually hilarious to go and read Wikipedia now as a grown adult and think 'I actually used to believe this rubbish, how stupid!' but then I think to myself 'my parents were grown adults and never questioned anything I was being taught? If I had a child, knowing what I know now......I would be getting my kid fail grades in class for not complying with the bullshit I was spoon fed! I'm more interested in history now than when I was at school? I'm unsure if that comes down to a maturity thing or just a motivation to unlearn all the BS I now realise that I was being taught at school? @user-gs8jv4oq6w Humans have to be taught to, which itself comes from another. This is supposed to be done by our parents, but there is a huge problem with that... and they had to learn from someone too. Humans don't think for themselves, they never have. They just do a great job at taking in multiple other people's opinions and mixing them together into something our complex neural networks think makes sense.
The sad thing is that Johnny's position is often taken as the most reasonable, because it doesn't advocate for any diversion from the status quo, even though it is hinged on premises like "capitalism is like a magic potion that solved everything". Any reform of the system (not to mention revolution) is: utopian, unsupported by data (stock footage popeconomics) and unrealistic to implement, which is why we need to apply the realistic approach to economics - To do precisely nothing
It is not to do nothing, but instead make corporations the main component of the political landscape. We need to cede more power to companies so that decisions can be made through them, but somehow they'll make better decisions for everyone because... reasons? Although that is more the point of the Stakeholder Capitalism book than what Johnny is saying.
@@kaythough9604 That's what blows by mind about Libertarians and other right-wingers who are against government regulations on businesses. @@alexandermacneil4430 Well, one of the major elements is that some regulations hurt small business a lot more than big business. So, big businesses can use the government and law as a weapon to prevent competition. However, completely cutting regulation is a bad idea since corporations motivated purely by profit will put their owners above everyone else. On the more extreme side, the threat of government authoritarianism if feared more than corporate abuse. Most actual Libertarians I know generally want some form of "Minarchy" or the smallest government you can get that keeps corporations from abusing the people. So, it's main job would be regulation of companies. And most laws that didn't involve companies or hurting other people would be removed What that looking like in practice is a matter of debate and some proposed options are stupid, Some would probably work but probably won't happen though. As a resident of New England who has grown up with abandoned mills being an ever present reality in nearly every town, I find the idea that Neo-Liberalism of the 70s and 80's led to so much prosperity deeply insulting.

Among Marxists, the 'weening off of capitalism' in the transition to communism is known as socialism, where the means of production have been seized and are under the workers' control, but certain aspects of capitalism have yet to be overcome. If you're instead asking if we can first go through a period of social-democracy before socialism, this is not really possible. Social-democracy is still capitalism, as evidence by the fact that it still operates under a dictatorship of the bourgeoisie, and this bourgeoisie will do all within its power to prevent the proletariat from taking power from them. Social-democracy, while objectively better for those who live within it, (although an imperialistic harm to international solidarity), is not a goal, nor even something to be focusing on. Inevitably, all social-democracies will revert to a more 'ruthless' form of capitalism, since it is more profitable to do this. This is not a condemnation of any specific man nor nation, this is just how the science works.
Libs be like: "communism goes against human nature and it's unrealistic" and the try to come at you with "bro I swear capitalism will get wholesome eventually"
Human nature is such a strange point. If capitalism is in line with human nature, then human nature is to dance on the grave of nature What's the most natural thing you've seen in Capitalism? If Nature means selfishness, early Marxism works on a theory of self interest, which is just one theory. As an argument, anyone can say some broad philosophical point, without bothering to get more inductive than dipping their toes in, an easy counter argument that's just as inductive is 'actually socialism works because of Human nature and capitalism doesn't work because of entropy'. More people should just come up with a quick response to soft balls, rather overinvesting because the're clever socialists Imagen if the most natural humans, were the ones closest to nature
@@jdoe9518that’s a dumb argument. “Is X is so good why is it not [status quo] Y” Maybe because the bourgeoisie have throughout history suppressed any meaningful change within society

He’s no better. Government intervention took what would have been a short, sharp depression like 1920 and dragged it out over a decade and a half. Somehow the fault of free markets that governments confiscated gold, established cartels to increase inflation and paid farmers not to produce. Also somehow the fault of free markets that two socialists started world war II. Also the fault of free markets that a bunch of incompetent kings and unelected officials started world war I. The renaissance and science is obviously the cause of the industrial revolution. Yoy can’t invest money into something that hasn’t been invented. Can you see a bunch of sugar plantation owners investing money into bluesky research like Newton and Liebnizs invention of calculus? All these things came creeping for 500 years before rhe industrial revolution.
@@soylentgreenb great depression in 1920? I think it was called the roaring 20s for another reason. It happened in 1929 and who dragged it was Hoover with his narrative of letting the market solve itself. WW2 was started by a fascist who came to power to stop socialists gaining momentum after the debacle of 29, with support from the german bourgeoisie. And then you use the same ✨it was science ✨ argument who was debunked in the video, ignoring that both Newton and Liebnizs lived more than a century after colonialism begun, not 500 years before the industrial revolution (which would be 1280-1300, in the late European middle age)

The comment section of Johnny's videos are truly dystopic, just a myriad of praises. That's why I don't challenge any of what he speaks even though it's all a bunch of nonsense, an appropriate response would be too long and time consuming and I know I'll get abused and discredited. Thankfully, you and Tom, among other UA-camrs, are challenging Johnny's propaganda.
If you want to know whether someone is using bots or not you need to look at the top comments. Back in the day people would talk about specific points in the video or specific ideas. Nowadays most “top” UA-camrs comments are filled with 1000 people saying some variation of “Wow! You’re so amazing! The world would collapse without you”. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the companies themselves (UA-cam, twitter, FB) using these bots to push their ad revenue higher and higher (FB made 84 BILLION in ad revenue in a single year, they aren’t going to give that up anytime soon)
"is the solution socialism? NO, just a new form of capitalism"... ive heard stuff like this often obviously but the thing i want to point out, the thing i find most interesting is that nowhere can you ever find someone argue in what i call "clear terms". in other words, what is capitalism? then, why should we keep it? and, why is this current capitalism undesirable? versus the "new" one? whats the difference? which comes back to, again, what is capitalism? the next question in this line is then, what is socialism? what/why is it different? etc... the point is all arguments without these "clear terms" results in the logical process of "capitalism good, socialism bad". this is the extent of capitalist reasoning and intellectualism. to say the least, these people are charlatans at best and in general are mindless zeroes. pathetic jokes that try their best to convince their listeners that they are actually engaged in "thought" and/or even have the ability to do so... one fun result in this mindless dross of pro capital bullshit and the "we just need a new capitalism" argument in particular is what is actually implied by their proposed solution, namely "stakeholder capitalism". think about it. the end of what they publicly try to imply by "stakeholder capitalism" is basically sharing some of the proceeds with workers. of course, as empanada shows us, this is nowhere near what is actually desired by these scum shitheads but that doesnt change their public rhetoric and the issues with it, which is as follows... "stakeholder" as it is presented publicly implies basically "sharing the profits with workers to an extent". but, we have already heard that socialism isnt the answer. but what is socialism? isnt it just sharing the proceeds of labor and economic value generation with the masses? so socialism is just "staekholder" capital taken seriously, at least how it is publicly presented. so then why was johnny so quick to dismiss socialism? after all the next words out of his mouth was an endorsement of "socialism-lite". sharing profits with the people... right? so why not just take this to the extreme, ie socialism? empanada's video is the explanation of everything im getting at among other things... thanks brother!
On the topic of Friedman being wrong, remember that Russia *did* implement free markets after the planned economy ended and it pretty much collapsed. Friedman's policies would have been disastrous for China most likely.
@@dsff6288 hong kong adopted strict free market policies and in a span of a couple of decades they became on of the richest places in asia. to your first point, china never actually opened up, (not condoning western wars) but when the US forced Japan to open their economy up since the Meiji restoration the Japanese economy industrialized and they quickly prospered.
@@jacobespenhain9667 Hong Kong didn't go from a Marxist-Leninist command economy to free markets through neoliberal shock therapy though? That's what the neolibs wanted and did with Russia.
@@TheLandauMinimum the russian economy is subject to extreme government oversight and is not at all a free market, though still freer and therefore richer than the soviet one
All these references to free market capitalism are simply meant to convince people in the west, those who watch his videos, that it's in their interest to follow this example of China that he has fabricated in order for their countries to be able to compete with them as a rising power on the world stage. That is, to forsake all victories by their worker movements, allow privatization to run rampant, and ultimately leave their entire societies for capitalists to run with minimal (democratic) interference. After all, otherwise they risk being overpowered by the sheer freedom of China's markets. It's so utterly cynical, but it is also very sophisticated propaganda.
And the free market he envisioned does not exist at all, because the Chinese government intervenes in the market economy and has a large number of state-owned companies. So he basically fantasized about a neoliberal China and then promoted neoliberalism to his own country.
You missed the key element they employ: narrative. You can take the same sets of statements and numbers and anecdotes, and spin them up in completely opposite ways with the power of a narrative, that ties up the facts favouring your position into something emotionally cohesive while contradictions, even if disclosed, are rendered irrelevant. It convinces the non critical reader (=most readers) because of how well it flows. I stopped paying NY Times subscription since I realised how almost every story is spun with a pre disposed position, and woven into a narrative which favours that position.
Harris takes the approach of "I don't know shit and I'm not going to try to understand, but I can pretend to sound insightful and knowledgeable by filtering the info I manage to google online thru my limited lenses and massaging my braincells into a dreamlike state of mind to regurgitate fusionized buzzwords."
You have to think from the POV as an American lib. WWII was incredible for the bottom line and left America as a profound unchallenged hegemon. So in fact, capitalism did a perfect job of delivering exactly what its supposed to!!! (This is sarcastic, to be clear, though most american libs actually think this way)
Harris was one of those guys I enjoyed at first but after seeing content covering topics I'm familiar with I quickly changed course. @mikoaj7956 "race more human than ever to stable and good living conditions" Most of the world are sh*tty impoverished 3rd world countries with 9 million people die each year from hunger alone under global capitalism, so how TF capitalism is an "economic system that raced more humans than ever to stable and good living conditions" when in most countries of the world it failed to do that? If anything, socialism is the better system, as shown by Cuba for example
@mikoaj7956 yes Cuba is a good example. I tell you why: Cuba, being a 3rd world country (which is typical for all LATAM countries) that is continuously put under brutal sanctions by the world's largest superpower that sits just right next to them (aka the U.S) for DECADES , scores very high on some metrics of quality of life, like the average Life expectancy for example. In 2020, the average Cuban life expectancy was 77.57 years, being slightly above the average life expectancy of the very first world country that's putting them under continuous brutal sanctions, that is the U.S, with the U.S ones being 77.28 years, and also surpassed almost every other LATAM countries, and these LATAM countries weren't the ones being put under brutal sanctions for decades, like Brazil at 74.01 years, Argentina at 75.8 years, Mexico at 70.13 years, Ecuador at 72.15 yrs, Guatemala at 71.18 years and so on (Source: Our World in Data (from the World Bank) ). While for infant mortality rates, in 2020 Cuba fares as low as 0.41%, below the U.S at 0.54%, Chile at 5.8%, Argentina at 0.76%, Mexico at 1.18% and Brazil at 1.31%(source:UN Inter-agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation (via World Bank) ). In 2020, numbers of new and relapse tuberculosis (TB) cases at rate per 1000 people, Cuba fares as low as 0.06, slightly below the U.K at 0.07 and France at 0.08, and below Chile at 0.15, Mexico at 0.24, Argentina at 0.31, and Brazil at 0.45 (Source: WHO: Global Health Obversatory) ). And remember, Cuba achieved all of these while being a 3rd world country that is put under a continuously brutal sanctions by the world's largest superpower that sits just right next to them.

Something noteworthy about the GDP graphs in general is the fact that the calculation of GDP changed. Finance wasn't counted as productive in GDP before 1993 for example. So when adjusting for changing methodologies, GDP growth might even be slowing down since neoliberalisation. But currently this claim is under-researched. We have to be extremely critical about GDP numbers in general. Sadly awareness about the details on how GDP is calculated isn't widespread enough.

Johnny Harris made arguably the most famous and recognizable videos about the Cyprus problem on the entire platform. He wasted the entire video series on it on frivolous crap and half-baked factoids. Instead of using the breadth of his appeal as a video creator in order to probe the conversation about how NATO geopolitics, British colonialism, and the Cold War gave birth and facilitated the growth of the Cyprus problem, he stuck to the conventional narrative that educated nobody about what actually happened back then.

Yes, like how 40-60% of the known coal is in scotland?
Which is our equivalent of today's oil being used for electricity/powering factories/steam trains etc.
So makes sense for England/West to be rich even without colonialism. (since the cost of transporting this OP commodity is low, and trade is better than going to war)
but putting the richness to colonialism is a very great narrative to fund dictators/fascists in Africa in the name of fixing the past, and score political points to get misinformed voters.
"Most of the collieries, or coal mines, of the Industrial Revolution were in northern England, where more than 80 percent of coal was mined in the early 18th century"
Imagine 100 years from now, Saudi Arabia is rich but people want to punish them for getting into X war, and blaming said war for richness (despite said war/land only a factor of the Saudi's wealth/contribution. heck, maybe Saudi invested in said land and made slavery illegal/put trains into it so that industrialization/transporting/creation of goods/wealth is faster). Sounds stupid right? I know
NOTE: not saying colonialism is good. Saying context matters. and narratives of today is most likely politicized for today's politics. a better objective look is the papertrail of socio-economic data
but how much can you rely socio-economics/personal notes of an expedition/local? 10,20,40,60,100,150,200,500,1000 years ago? and correcting for each bias
tldr; there is something about England that made them rich, Coal. the 1800's version of Oil. and the technological advancements/trade from factories that mainly used coal

Thanks for this video I feel like it was like a bit of a wakeup call for me. Oftentimes I catch myself watching these types of infotainment videos without really paying attention or questioning anything that is beeing said, which is pretty problematic when the topic of the Video is highly political. All of these claims might sound like rapid fire outrageous claims to anyone living outside of the West, but all a westerner thinks is "yeah, I think remember that from school." They just do a great job at taking in multiple other people's opinions and mixing them together into something our complex neural networks think makes sense.
@@kaythough9604 If i was working for WEF i would not give give Johnny a passing grade on this propaganda piece.
And most laws that didn't involve companies or hurting other people would be removed
What that looking like in practice is a matter of debate and some proposed options are stupid, Some would probably work but probably won't happen though.

It depends how you're defining this term.

Didn't realise this video was 2 hours long. And I wasn't used to this much information (with sources). I guess this is what proper education is unlike what these UA-cam 'educators' put out
Average Johnny Harris video:

I'm currently working on a PhD in Political Philosophy and want to say that I really appreciate your analysis and critique here - it's refreshing to see something so thorough, well structured and well argued on UA-cam. You're doing a great service to humanity! Keep it up.

When you criticize capitalism and all you get is the fluoride stare and thousands of almost automated responses that say the same thing
It is just the same with this video. Praises.
^can't read past the first sentence and didn't watch the video.
Friedman's policies would have been disastrous for China most likely.
it isn't a matter of likelihood, neoliberal policies are _designed_ to be harmful
it has been tried in china -- hong kong, which is now one of the richest places in the world
@@dsff6288 hong kong adopted strict free market policies and in a span of a couple of decades they became on of the richest places in asia. to your first point, china never actually opened up, (not condoning western wars) but when the US forced Japan to open their economy up since the Meiji restoration the Japanese economy industrialized and they quickly prospered.
As if china's market are free at all.
What a weird example to use. China is literally the opposite of a free market system.
And the free market he envisioned does not exist at all, because the Chinese government intervenes in the market economy and has a large number of state-owned companies. So he basically fantasized about a neoliberal China and then promoted neoliberalism to his own country.
Too many fraudsters on this platform cosplaying as experts when they spend most of their effort on editing rather than researching.
2:30 "around the 1800s" ugh I wouldn't be able to sit through this guy's video. My first year students knew better.
This is how modern journalism works. You just make statements and numbers without ever explaining what they mean or where they came from.
Yeah, internet is full of number, but seriously lacks proofs.
but the number went up so it must be good
Politics too, this applies to literally every claim Donald T. (and a lot of others in Washington sure) makes
There are chinese white monkey shills that are doing this too. I am not defence WEF sell out either, but man, the propaganda.
Finally. It comes a good time too. I just wrote something for my anthropology department critiquing neoliberalism
How dare you
You have to think from the POV as an American lib.

He literally has a video talking about the methods he uses in his videos to gain attention and traction, I think that's a good indicator where a lot of his time and effort goes.

@mikoaj7956 most of the world still living in poverty under global capitalism isn't what I call "working"
@mikoaj7956 "race more human than ever to stable and good living conditions"
Most of the world are sh*tty impoverished 3rd world countries with 9 million people die each year from hunger alone under global capitalism, so how TF capitalism is an "economic system that raced more humans than ever to stable and good living conditions" when in most countries of the world it failed to do that? If anything, socialism is the better system, as shown by Cuba for example
@mikoaj7956 yes Cuba is a good example. I tell you why: Cuba, being a 3rd world country (which is typical for all LATAM countries) that is continuously put under brutal sanctions by the world's largest superpower that sits just right next to them (aka the U.S) for DECADES , scores very high on some metrics of quality of life, like the average Life expectancy for example. In 2020, the average Cuban life expectancy was 77.57 years, being slightly above the average life expectancy of the very first world country that's putting them under continuous brutal sanctions, that is the U.S, with the U.S ones being 77.28 years, and also surpassed almost every other LATAM countries, and these LATAM countries weren't the ones being put under brutal sanctions for decades, like Brazil at 74.01 years, Argentina at 75.8 years, Mexico at 70.13 years, Ecuador at 72.15 yrs, Guatemala at 71.18 years and so on
(Source: Our World in Data (from the World Bank) ).
While for infant mortality rates, in 2020 Cuba fares as low as 0.41%, below the U.S at 0.54%, Chile at 5.8%, Argentina at 0.76%, Mexico at 1.18% and Brazil at 1.31%(source:UN Inter-agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation (via World
Bank) ).
@mikoaj7956 "the whole Eastern block not working at least"
Wdym by "not working"? The situation for most people in most of the Eastern Block countries are worse off now than they was during the Soviet era.
Heck, even polls indicate that people in these countries that live during the Soviet era said that the situation is worse off now under capitalism than they were during the Soviet era.
@mikoaj7956 also, where TF you got that claim from? What's your source?
socialism is the answer, send johny to the gulag
Lol +1
So murder, that backfired on the soviets.
Why not just ostracize people like Johnny
gulag != murder its just a prison for capitalists
also its interestingly in the "gulag" years the soviets developed from a backward rural nation with a very small literate population to a world superpower that defeated the Nazis.
you know what happened after that?

Johnny Harris is a socialist. He is not a neoliberal capitalist.
Some time later, it occurs to me WEF paid for a very crappy job and should have asked for their money back. Then again, they don't care, they're just buying his view count.
But wef loves china
Johnny leaves out a ton of context and never provides sources for his claims. Almost like he expects his viewers to believe his word outright.
I watched a video and head him say something along the lines of “in a world with Russian bots, fact checking is really important”. I don’t even know where to start…
1:11:50 They raised literacy rates!? OMG That's literal genocide!
It's just a ploy to make people learn the propaganda because as we all know, long-ass marxist books is the most efficient way of mass communication
@Javier Chamorro
Maoist China killed more of its own citizens by either mismanagement or outright genocide than any government in history. It’s a dismal record, but yeah; they got some stats up at the end, eventually abandoning their Marxist/Leninist principles by accepting investment from the Rockefeller clan for their future role as the world’s factory.
Or turkey has naked imperial ambitions.
